"Can we eat there now?" Lu Qing asked hurriedly.
"You probably won't get a free Manchu Han Imperial Feast. If you have the money, you can book a private room and then you should be able to eat there."
Lu Qing's eyes lit up.
If I can eat this as long as I have money, that would be wonderful!
There's nothing else, but there's definitely plenty of money!
Seeing Lu Qing's expectant look, Gu Xicheng couldn't help but chuckle:
"Let's go! Let's go now!"
"Um!"
The three of them took a detour, avoiding the people going to the Manchu Han Imperial Feast at the entrance, and arrived at the main hall.
Despite the crowds outside, the interior is quite elegant and quiet.
Even in the main hall, people talking while eating don't speak loudly.
"Hello! Do you have a reservation?" The waiter greeted us with a smile.
"Can't we eat without a reservation?" Wang Yanjun asked.
Waiter: "Yes, sir, but without a reservation, there are no private rooms available. You'll have to stay in the main hall."
Wang Yanjun: "The lobby is fine, just find us a bigger spot."
"Okay, ma'am and sir, please come this way!"
The waiter led them to a table for six and then handed them the menu:
"Please take a look at the menu first. Today, our specialties are Jade Sliced Meatballs, Auspicious Embroidered Balls, and Dragon's Eye Soup. For dessert, we recommend Phoenix Marrow Cloud Cake."
"Give me one of everything you just mentioned, and I don't want this or this on the menu, but one of everything else."
The waiter was stunned:
"Excuse me, ma'am, are you sure you want this much?"
Lu Qing nodded: "Confirmed."
"Do you want to pack it up? If so, we suggest you circle the items you want to pack up. We'll wait until you've almost finished eating before we start cooking, otherwise the food will get cold and affect the taste."
Lu Qing: "I'm not taking it to go, I'll just eat here."
Gu Xicheng laughed and said, "Just go ahead and cook, she can finish it."
Having seen the big eater before, the waiter stopped trying to persuade him.
"Okay! Please wait a moment, all three of you!"
The waiter took the menu and left, and then another waiter came up to pour them tea and serve them some snacks.
Gu Xicheng and Wang Yanjun had no interest in the snacks, so they all ended up in Lu Qing's stomach.
But that was just a small treat.
The food was served at a moderate pace, starting with a few cold dishes.
The cold dishes were refreshing, but some of them were sour and spicy, which made me even hungrier after eating them.
Lu Qing, holding a knife in one hand and a fork in the other, slumped over the table, sighing deeply.
"Why isn't the food here yet?! I'm starving!"
As they were talking, a group of waiters came out of the kitchen, each pushing a food cart.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, sir and madam!"
Lu Qing immediately perked up.
As they brought out one exquisite and fragrant dish after another, her eyes gleamed with envy.
"Your dishes aren't all ready yet; the rest are still being prepared. We'll continue serving you later!"
After the waiter left, Lu Qing couldn't wait to start eating.
I have to say, that passerby wasn't just bragging; the food really was delicious.
That "jade-cut golden shreds" is sashimi. Lu Qing had eaten it before, but the taste of this one was particularly different.
Needless to say, the fish slices were incredibly fresh, with absolutely no fishy taste.
The sweet and savory flavor is complemented by a hint of plum tartness, and the dipping sauce is also specially made.
Lu Qing couldn't quite identify what it was, but it tasted absolutely delicious.
Gu Xicheng and Wang Yanjun also ate quite a bit, but Lu Qing was the main force.
The dishes on the table were almost finished in no time, and then the remaining dishes were served one after another.
The empty plates were taken away, and new dishes were piled up on the table again.
Gu Xicheng and Wang Yanjun only tasted a few bites of each dish, leaving the rest for Lu Qing.
When they had almost finished eating, Lu Qing ordered a few more of her favorite dishes to take away.
While waiting, Lu Qing ate hawthorns to aid digestion while gazing at the night view.
Just then, three very fat men suddenly entered the store.
They looked like food bloggers exploring new restaurants, holding cameras and taking pictures.
"Hello everyone! This is Sanpang. Today, I've come to Jizhou to take you to check out a century-old restaurant, Zhenweilou."
I heard that the food at this restaurant is perfect except for the price; it's even been featured on TV!
Let's try it today and see if it lives up to its reputation.
"As you can see, there are so many people outside. Today, Zhenweilou has set up a Manchu Han Imperial Feast at the entrance. As long as you can get a plate, you can come in and get a taste of the food."
Fatty didn't get the plate, but he was willing to pay for it himself and bring his two brothers to try it!
The three fat men weren't loud, but their voices were quite noisy in the relatively quiet restaurant.
The waiter immediately came forward:
"Excuse me, sir, do you have a reservation?"
"No."
"Then you'll have to sit in the lobby. There are other guests in the lobby, so please keep your voices down so as not to disturb the other guests' dining."
These three fat men actually had some manners and immediately lowered their voices.
"Okay, okay! I'll keep my voice down!"
"Alright, gentlemen, please come in!"
The waiter led them to the table next to Lu Qing's group.
It has to be said that they are really not your average fat size.
The seats were already quite spacious, but they seemed to be cramped, their bellies practically touching the table.
After the waiter brought the menu, they didn't even look at it and just asked the waiter to cook a whole book.
Perhaps because they saw them taking pictures with cameras, the waiter didn't try to stop them.
Lu Qing glanced at them but didn't pay much attention, but the fat man with the camera walked over:
"Excuse me, miss, may I interview you? How's the food at this restaurant?"
Lu Qing smiled politely: "It's delicious."
"Just look at the empty plates on the table in front of this young lady, and you can tell that the food must taste amazing. Our trip today was definitely worthwhile."
"Thank you so much for accepting my interview, this is a small token of my appreciation!"
The fat man handed a box of chocolates to Lu Qing.
This is clearly an advertisement.
"Nuoyuan's chocolates are all made with pure cocoa butter. They have a slightly bitter taste and are not too sweet. They are great for making a chocolate cake or having as an afternoon tea treat. I hope you like them."
Lu Qing accepted all food offered to him.
"Thank you so much!" Lu Qing said with a smile.
"You're welcome, miss. I'm Fatty. If you like this chocolate, please give me a follow. If you don't, that's fine too!"
The chubby guy had a kind smile and was quite polite in his manners.
Although it was supposed to be an interview, the camera never focused on Lu Qing's face throughout.
This shows that the person is quite well-mannered.
Out of professional habit, Lu Qing glanced at his face and noticed something unusual about his Illness Palace.
Look how fat he is, he's even out of breath when he walks, no wonder he gets sick!
"Brother, delicious food is good, but health is priceless. You should eat something lighter!"
Lu Qing offered a reminder, but the fat man chuckled dismissively:
"Thank you for reminding me, I should start losing weight, but I need to eat well first!"
Lu Qing knew he hadn't listened, so she didn't say anything more.
By then, the groceries she had packed had been prepared and delivered.
Gu Xicheng paid the money and prepared to leave.
When Lu Qing got up, she was accidentally bumped by a passing food cart, and bumped into another fat man at the next table.
With that one touch, Lu Qing sensed something was wrong.
There was a bloody smell about this person.
