Chapter 37 Mysterious Cave

Seeing Lu Qing run away, Zhang Shichang quickly shook off Wang Yanjun's hand and ran after her.

"Sister Xiaoqing, wait for me!"

Wang Yanjun was furious:

"They've all gone mad! They're all insane!"

As the rain intensified, scenes of being trapped in the wilderness flashed before my eyes like a movie, deepening my fear.

After a long while, Wang Yanjun gritted his teeth and ran wildly in the direction Lu Qing and Zhang Shichang had left.

While running, he took out his phone and sent a voice message to Gu Xicheng:

"Gu Xicheng, if I don't die this time, you're going to treat me to hot pot when we get back!"

After saying that, he called Liu Yong again:

"It's raining heavily! You must leave now! Don't go into the mountains! Don't go into the mountains! Don't go into the mountains!"

Liu Yong was not only the younger brother of Wang Yanjun's beloved woman, but also a soldier he had once led. He knew very well that Liu Yong, given his personality, would not stand idly by, so he emphasized it three times.

"Liu Yong, I've already wronged your sister, I can't wrong you too!"

"Please... don't go into the mountains!"

After saying that, Wang Yanjun put away his phone and caught up with Lu Qing.

Outside, Gu Xicheng immediately ended the meeting after receiving the news and contacted all available resources within the Gu family to rush to Mo City.

Liu Yong originally intended to go into the mountains, but halfway there, a mysterious force turned the car around.

No matter how he turned the steering wheel or pressed the accelerator, it was no use.

The car drove straight down the mountain.

In his panic, Liu Yong glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a woman in tattered clothes flash by.

The figure looked almost exactly like his sister, Liu Xue.

He quickly turned his head to look, but the figure had disappeared again.

Over here, Wang Yanjun ran towards Lu Qing with a death wish.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and the soil underfoot was becoming softer and softer, leaving a deep footprint with every step.

The rocks on the mountain were already teetering on the edge, and the rainwater mixed with the mud soaked through our shoes and clothes.

When Wang Yanjun finally saw Lu Qing and Zhang Shichang, they were standing still, motionless.

He strode forward and saw a huge, dark pit that had collapsed beneath the cliff in front of him.

Strange cries could be faintly heard coming from inside the cave.

The three people stood on the cliff, looking down at the bottomless pit, and remained silent for a long time.

Zhang Shichang swallowed hard and asked Lu Qing:

"Sister Xiaoqing, you wouldn't be thinking of going down into this cave, would you?!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than a loud bang came from behind him.

The mountain collapsed, and rubble mixed with mud and water rushed down, rapidly approaching them.

Lu Qing frowned slightly: "It's too late, we have to get off!"

After saying that, she grabbed Wang Yanjun and Zhang Shichang and jumped down together.

As they sensed they were about to land, Lu Qing released the little paper figure, making it grow larger so it could carry them down.

As soon as they jumped into the cave, a huge rock sealed the entrance, and at the same time, a sinister and eerie mist quickly covered the area within a ten-mile radius.

...

After an unknown amount of time, Lu Qing felt herself land.

She looked around; it was terrifyingly dark, and she couldn't see anything clearly. Luckily, her phone was still working.

Lu Qing turned on her flashlight, but the light could only illuminate a limited area, and she finally managed to find Zhang Shichang and Wang Yanjun.

"Brother, wake up! Brother!"

"Little Chang, wake up!"

Lu Qing called out to them for a while before they slowly woke up.

Zhang Shichang didn't react much to the pitch-black surroundings, but Wang Yanjun reacted violently, his whole body trembling.

"Where am I? Take me out of here! Quickly!!!"

Noticing Wang Yanjun's fear, Lu Qing quickly grabbed his arm:

"Brother, what's wrong? Why are you so scared?"

Zhang Shichang glanced at him, then exclaimed in surprise:

"Could he have claustrophobia?!"

Lu Qing recalled his older brother's past experiences, so it wasn't surprising that he had claustrophobia.

But now that they're inside the cave, their field of vision is limited, making it impossible for them to find a way out so quickly.

"Brother, don't be afraid! I'll go find an exit right now!"

Wang Yanjun gasped for breath, his mind filled with memories of being trapped in the cave with Liu Xue.

"Jun, it hurts so much! Are we going to die?"

"Ah Jun, I can't hold on any longer! You have to live on!"

"Ah Jun, I'm so reluctant to part with you! We're not even married yet! Why is God so unfair?"

"..."

Wang Yanjun's eyes reddened, and he kept murmuring:

"Xiaoxue, Xiaoxue, I'm so sorry! Xiaoxue!"

He was already hallucinating, and the situation was getting worse. Lu Qing was extremely anxious.

She wanted to call Gu Xicheng, but there was no cell phone signal, so she had to find her own way out.

"Xiao Chang, you take care of your brother, I'm going to find an exit!"

Zhang Shichang mustered his courage and nodded: "Okay! Sister Xiaoqing, be careful!"

Lu Qing slowly explored the cave with her phone in hand, and soon she heard strange noises.

She had heard the sound when she was on the cliff; it was intermittent and didn't sound like a human voice, but rather like the panting of a wild animal.

Lu Qing walked forward more cautiously, when suddenly, there seemed to be light ahead.

She slowly walked over and saw a door with dark blue runes carved on it, like an ancient array diagram.

The sound was coming from inside the door.

Lu Qing took out a tortoise shell and cast a divination. Looking at the position where the copper coin landed, her brows furrowed slightly.

The divination indicates that there is hope in a desperate situation; the immediate danger is a matter of life and death, and whether one can survive depends entirely on fate.

She never expected that her momentary curiosity would lead to such a thing. She had no one to blame but herself for getting herself into trouble, but Wang Yanjun and Zhang Shichang were still outside.

After a moment's thought, Lu Qing made a decision.

She turned and left, returning to her original spot, and handed Zhang Shichang a talisman she was carrying with her.

"Xiao Chang, there might be a road ahead that I need to explore, but you definitely can't get there like this, brother."

"This is a life-saving talisman left to me by my master. Keep it safe. If I don't come back, burn this talisman and my master will come to save you."

"Can't we just burn the talisman paper?" Zhang Shichang asked hastily.

Lu Qing shook his head: "The talisman can only be used once, and once it is used, Master will suffer a backlash after saving someone. I don't want to use it unless absolutely necessary."

"But you..."

Zhang Shichang wanted to persuade Lu Qing, but Lu Qing interrupted him:

"Alright! Stop talking, take care of your brother!"

Lu Qing turned around, took a deep breath, and walked away with firm steps.

She didn't need to look to know that Zhang Shichang was looking at her with eyes full of admiration.

I remained calm and composed in the face of danger. My back view must look really cool right now!

Lu Qing thought this way, but as soon as she walked away, her tears fell like pearls from a broken string, and she cried loudly.

"Waaaah! Curiosity killed the cat! I'll never be curious again!"

"Master, Mistress, Gu Xicheng, who can save me?!"

Although Lu Qing is powerful, she is only eighteen years old. She is afraid of pain and death, let alone in a situation where she knows that there is a dead end ahead but still has to take it.

Lu Qing sat in front of the gate, hugging her knees and crying for a while before finally standing up, sobbing.

Cry if you need to cry, and face challenges if you need to face challenges.

With tears streaming down her face, Lu Qing slowly unsealed the formation before her.

After a long while, the door clicked open.
