Chapter 41

After riding the pirate ship, Pei Yu took Sangsang back to the cafe.

At this time, only Lu Ziting and Sang Chi were inside, as well as a few scattered "tourists" sitting in the booths in a daze, while Lu Ziyun, Huo Shen and Tang Lun, the three workers, were busy going to "work".

Lu Ziting pretended to wipe the glass with a rag. He looked at the gradually darkening sky outside and wailed, "The yellow vest staff said we are working 996. We can't get off work and rest until nine o'clock in the evening. It's too tiring."

He wasn't physically tired but mentally. Before the apocalypse, he and Lu Ziyun were travel bloggers with very flexible working hours, so he really couldn't get used to working 996.

"It's almost six o'clock now. You still have three hours before you can get off work. Just hold on a little longer, Daddy." Sang Chi patted his shoulder, made a cheering gesture, and took out a piece of spicy beef jerky from the space and stuffed it into his mouth.

"How do you know the time?" Lu Ziting chewed beef jerky, his eyes fell on Sang Chi's wrist, and asked in confusion, "You don't have a watch with you either."

"There's a Big Ben in Happy City, you must not have noticed it," Sang Chi replied, pointing outside the cafe and raising his eyebrows.

Lu Ziting looked up in the direction of his finger, and sure enough, there was a big green clock in the distance, embedded in a graffiti wall.

Its shape looks very forest-like, with a circle of green vines and flowers wrapped around the outside. Even the shape of the hour hand is in the shape of a tree branch. It looks like a small clock in a fairy tale house, just an enlarged version.

Lu Ziting glanced at the big green clock, thought for a moment and said, "The zombie reception day is the day after tomorrow, so maybe at twelve o'clock tomorrow morning, when the big clock rings, the clown monster will let all the zombies in."

"Maybe that's the case," Sang Chi nodded in agreement.

As Sang Chi finished speaking, the hour hand of the green clock pointed to 6, the second hand pointed to 12, and a crisp cuckoo chime rang out, indicating that it was already six o'clock in the afternoon.

It’s just that Happy City is too noisy, so the ringing of the big bell is covered up, and if you don’t listen carefully, you can’t hear it at all.

Sangsang looked up at the big clock in the distance. She rubbed her eyes, cried out in a baby voice, and said in surprise, "Brother, look, there's a little bird popping out of it!"

A white cuckoo, surrounded by colorful flowers, pops out from the big clock and keeps chirping. The scene is very dreamy, and it is worthy of being the most famous amusement park in Yuncheng.

Sang Chi was stunned and said, "It's quite beautiful."

At this moment, the yellow vest staff who assigned work to Lu Ziting and others appeared outside the cafe. They started shouting everywhere with loud speakers, "Dinner is ready! Everyone go to Venus Hotel to get your meal. No latecomers will be allowed. Meals will be served while stocks last!"

It is very hard for the survivors to play the roles of tourists and staff in Happy City and work 996. Free meals are a must. Besides, how can a working person not be given food?

So as soon as the yellow vest staff shouted that dinner was ready, everyone rushed towards the hotel.

The few tourists who were staring blankly in the cafe disappeared in the blink of an eye. Lu Ziting put down the rag, took a long step and rushed out.

However, when Lu Ziting turned around, he saw Sang Chi and Pei Yu holding Sang Sang without moving. He urged them, "Let's go and have dinner. If you are not active in eating, there is something wrong with your thinking."

"Don't go. There's food in the space. Besides, there must be a lot of people there right now. It would be troublesome to queue up to get food," Sang Chi advised him. "And don't go over there either. We can cook hot and sour noodles for dinner later."

Pei Yu nodded silently.

Lu Ziting hesitated for a moment, but he wanted to join in the fun. Besides, he was curious about the food quality in Happy City. Who knows, it might suit his taste!

He shook his head, smiled and waved his hand, "I'll go over and see what to eat."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Ziting ran away with the noisy crowd.

After a while, Lu Ziyun and Huo Shen pushed open the glass door of the cafe and learned that Lu Ziting had gone to the hotel to get food.

I thought, this guy must be a fool.

There are a lot of supplies in Sang Chi's space, but he doesn't want to eat them and insists on going out to join in the fun. What kind of train of thought is this?

Having a stupid younger brother at home makes Lu Ziyun helpless.

He sighed and shook his head, saying with certainty, "In the apocalypse, the food in Happy City is definitely not that good. Just wait, Ziting will definitely sneak back soon." As the twin brother, it was Lu Ziyun who knew Lu Ziting best. Less than twenty minutes later, the group saw him running back to the cafe.

After returning to the house, Lu Ziting complained, "I really regret it. I shouldn't have gone over there. Do you know what we're having for dinner?"

Sang Chi was curious, "Is the food very bad?"

Lu Ziting shook his head, "It's not that it's bad, it's just that there is nothing to eat. I saw that today's dinner is white rice porridge, but there are not even a few grains of rice. It's just like drinking plain water."

Huo Shen thought for a while and said, "There are quite a few survivors in Happy City, but everyone's daily life is playing role-playing games, so where do they have time to collect supplies?"

"Yes, Happy City ensures the safety of the survivors, but it is difficult to take into account food and drink," Lu Ziyun pursed his lips and nodded.

Therefore, in the long run, it remains unknown whether Happy City can continue to operate according to the standards of the "ideal country" in the clown's mind.

After a brief chat, everyone felt hungry and started preparing dinner.

Sang Chi opened a large bag of hot and sour noodles, boiled water on a gas cooker and cooked a few small packets. The fragrant aroma rushed into his nose. It smelled fragrant but not very spicy. Then he opened a bag of braised pig's trotters and braised eggs to eat with it.

Lu Ziting took a sip of noodles and looked at Sang Chi, tears in his eyes from being moved. He reached out to grab him and said, "You are my breadwinner now. I will never leave you again."

Sang Chi was so frightened that he quickly stepped back, holding the bowl and shouting, "Talk nicely and don't touch me."

Lu Ziting would not listen to him. He rushed forward and grabbed the corner of Sang Chi's clothes tightly, and the two of them started to fight.

Sangsang looked at her brothers. She took a bite of the soft and sticky pig's trotter, and her fair cheeks puffed up.

After swallowing the pig's trotters, Sangsang glanced at Pei Yu sideways and said seriously, "Brother Pei Yu, we are good kids because we didn't play around while eating. Brother Ziting and the others are not like that~".

Pei Yu wiped her greasy mouth with a tissue, pursed his lips and smiled and nodded, "None of the brothers are as obedient as Sangsang, you are the best."

The good baby Sangsang smiled with his eyes curved and started to slurp the noodles happily.

After eating and drinking, there were still two hours before get off work ended, but Huo Shen, Tang Lun and Lu Ziyun, the other two workers, skipped work and stayed in the cafe.

Lu Ziting took out a box of "Werewolf" cards from somewhere and shouted that he wanted to play Werewolf.

Huo Shen smiled, became interested, pulled out a prophet card and asked, "Where did this come from?"
