Chapter 385: No Good Ending

Chen Zhisong was not satisfied with the disastrous end of his paper presentation.

But things have come to this point, he can only reluctantly comfort himself by saying:

It doesn't matter, it's just that the research results are not that valuable. If he can use this paper as a stepping stone and receive an offer from a top research institute, it would also be a good choice.

What Chen Zhisong didn't expect was that he would receive a call from his mother just after he finished the academic conference and before he returned to the dormitory. The tone of her voice was completely different from that of a few days ago!

"What's going on?! Didn't you say your paper is valuable and that many important people value you? Why are there so many people questioning you and saying your research is wrong? What's going on?"

Chen Zhisong was already extremely irritated. After being yelled at by his mother, he roared back with bloodshot eyes:

"What do you know? My research is a success! I'll be applying for a patent soon, and it'll bring me hundreds of millions in revenue!"

After blurting it out, Chen Zhisong was stunned. That’s not right!

"Mom, how did you know I was being questioned?"

Chen Zhisong's mother was stunned by her usually gentle and humble son's yelling, so she told the truth honestly.

It turns out that Chen Zhisong’s academic conference was broadcast live in its entirety by a domestic TV station!

Naturally, the scene where Chen Zhisong was questioned by the man with black-framed glasses was also broadcast to the country without reservation!

There is even a high-level popular science narration to explain to the audience what the special terms mentioned in the meeting are and what these studies are related to.

It emphasized Chen Zhisong's research and magnified his failures. In the emotionless narration, Chen Zhisong's paper was simply a piece of garbage!

Chen Zhisong's mother couldn't help but complain again:

"Since you were wrong, why didn't you tell us earlier? During the live broadcast, your father, your brother, and I were so happy that we even invited all the relatives over to watch! Now, everyone is laughing at you. Everyone knows that you've only just produced a bunch of useless stuff! Don't you know that your father's face turned green when he heard what your aunt and the others said?"

Chen Zhisong felt cold all over:

“Who…who is it!”

Chen Zhisong's mother still hasn't reacted:

"What?"

"I'm asking you who told you there was a live broadcast! And asked you to watch it!"

Chen Zhisong roared almost out of control!

Chen Zhisong's mother was so frightened that she was stunned:

"There's a distant relative I know, and he said he found out about it by accident..."

What else doesn’t Chen Zhisong understand now?

This set of combined punches is all prepared for him!

The press releases from young scientists, the questioning at academic conferences... all aimed at driving him into the abyss! He'll never be able to get up again!

"Why did you believe these people? Why did you take them to watch the live broadcast? Why did you tell him about this?!"

Chen Zhisong roared with red eyes, putting all the blame on his mother!

His mother was immediately unhappy:

"What do you mean? Is it wrong for me to be proud of you? Who knew you were so useless? Now your dad is almost mad at me, and I don't know how to solve it. You said you are also..."

"Stop saying 'my dad, my dad' all the time! He's not my dad!"

Chen Zhisong smashed the phone directly!

He was breathing heavily, like a raging bull.

When he thought about how his stepfather, stepbrother and those relatives of the Chen family would gather together to laugh at him, his heart felt like it was in a hot pot!

So, when the junior schoolmate who he knew well came to ask him whether he had written the paper himself, Chen Zhisong collapsed!

"Right! I didn't write it! Okay? These are all Wen Mo's problems! She was researching in the wrong direction! It has nothing to do with me! If you want to find someone, go find her! I'm not wrong! That's right!"

Chen Zhisong's shout was not only directed at his junior schoolmate, but also at his own mother...

However, after venting his anger, Chen Zhisong still felt that things had not reached the worst point.

The Chen family's attitude will not have any impact. When he has the opportunity to get back on his feet, those snobbish Chen family members will still gather together to flatter him!

So after calming down and organizing his thoughts, he called his mentor and expressed his determination to continue studying this issue.

The call was connected, but the conversation was still going on.

The Caucasian old man opposite scolded in a gruff voice:

"I've been discussing academic misconduct the most in my life! Especially plagiarism! Chen Zhisong, you're fired!"

Then there was a rapid busy tone.

Chen Zhisong was dumbfounded.

He thought he had misheard and wanted to call again, but found that the tone was always busy.

The tutor blocked him!

Chen Zhisong was eager to find out what was going on, so he opened his Moments and found that the most popular post was about his paper plagiarism!

The person who released the message was a junior schoolmate who had contacted him a few hours ago. The message she released was a recording of him personally admitting that he had plagiarized his paper.

And attached at the end is Wen Mo’s chat record response:

I've already authorized a lawyer to handle this. I just can't believe Senior Chen, who didn't even realize he plagiarized, got my unwanted manuscript.

The last sentence stung Chen Zhisong's eyes!

What's the meaning?

Scrap!

He felt that these two words were more severe than plagiarism to him!

Was Wen Mo trying to mock him for only being able to pick up things she didn't want?

Chen Zhisong was almost going crazy. He immediately took Wen Mo's number out of the blacklist and called him.

He called more than ten times, but the result was always the same: no one answered.

It was exactly like the situation when he didn't answer Wen Mo's call.

Chen Zhisong grabbed his hair and screamed in despair!

The roommate who happened to come back at this critical moment looked at him in horror and thought of Chen Zhisong's recent experience.

He turned around and decisively shared the news with his classmates, and spread it throughout the school as quickly as possible.

In less than a day, it is no exaggeration to say that Chen Zhisong was ruined.

The suffering has just begun—

Just as his professor Chen Zhisong said, he was expelled from the school, could not obtain his doctoral degree, and the school ordered him to move out of the dormitory within 24 hours.

In addition, the person in charge of issuing full scholarships sent a letter of inquiry and stated that if Chen Zhisong could not clarify the matter, they would sue Chen Zhisong and demand the return of all study abroad expenses.

Chen Zhisong's relatives kept calling to inquire, saying that news about him had exploded on social media. Everyone knew that a Chinese student had plagiarized his classmate's thesis and was ashamed of him.

The Chen family even cut off contact with him, and even Chen Zhisong's mother didn't dare to call him.

In the end, the only person who called was a relative from Chen Zhisong's father's side whom he had not contacted for many years.

Although it was to persuade Chen Zhisong to turn back and start over, for Chen Zhisong, this was an absolute shame! (End of this chapter)
