Chapter 387 Management Fee

Chapter 387 Management Fee

Burberry headquarters.

"Mr. Barber, I think you have definitely made the right choice." Tang Shuo walked into the conference room and shook hands with the pale-faced Chris Barber with a smile on his face.

Cribber pulled his hand back, moved his lips twice, and said, "I can agree to your terms, but we have two more requirements."

Tang Shuo knew that Cribber would not give in easily. He nodded in understanding and walked with Cribber to the sofa in the office. He said, "Mr. Barber, please speak."

Tang Shuo originally thought that Cribber would definitely make a decision at the last minute within the deadline he had given. However, he did not expect that just one day later, the other party would call him and invite him to Burberry's headquarters for a meeting.

After arriving at the Burberry headquarters, Tang Shuo first took a brief tour of the Burberry museum, and then went to meet Chris Barber under the guidance of his secretary.

Cribber loosened his tie and looked at Tang Shuo. "First, we'll charge 15% of the net profit of each product as a licensing fee."

After Cribber finished speaking, Tang Shuo stood up and shook his head at Cribber, saying, "Since Mr. Barber is so insincere, there's no need for us to continue the discussion."

As for luxury goods themselves, 15% net profit for each item is definitely not a small amount.

Under normal circumstances, Cribber's request would be reasonable. Furthermore, once this condition was announced, many people would flock to him seeking cooperation.

But Tang Shuo was different from these people. His original purpose was not to cooperate with Cribber in the conventional sense, so Tang Shuo would never agree to the licensing fee.

Cribber also stood up and glared at Tang Shuo, saying, "This is the best offer I can make. In order to convince other family members, I even promised to give away some of my own shares."

"This is Mr. Barber's own business." Tang Shuo shrugged and said nonchalantly, "There's still one day left. I hope Mr. Barber will think it over before contacting me."

Cribber gnashed his teeth and looked at Tang Shuo and said, "Ten percent!"

Tang Shuo shook his head and made to leave.

"Five percent!" Cribber said angrily, then added, "If you still can't agree to this condition, then there's really nothing I can do."

The Burberry Group is a family business, and although Chris Barber holds a 51% controlling stake, this does not mean he can go against public opinion and independently push for something.

After his last meeting with Tang Shuo, he went back to discuss this matter with other family members. As soon as the matter was brought up, it was immediately met with strong opposition from the others.

Burberry's current business is doing well, so there's absolutely no need to add a sub-brand. Furthermore, Burberry currently faces no financial pressure at all, so even if it were to open a sub-brand, there's no need to collaborate with others.

Later, after Cribber's strong insistence and a thorough explanation of Tang Shuo's background, everyone reluctantly agreed to this matter. Of course, Cribber's controlling stake played a crucial role in this.

Tang Shuo stopped and sat down again. "There's nothing wrong with this condition, but I need three senior designers."

Cribber grinned. He was considering parting ways with Tang Shuo, but he knew he had no confidence to do so. "I promise you this!"

"There is one more request."

Cribber then spoke up, "Once the new brand is created, Burberry will have the right to use every product you design."

"That's no problem." Hongnu said.

Tang Shuo agreed directly this time, contrary to Cribabber's expectations. However, his next words made Cribabber so angry that he almost cursed.

"As a partner, we certainly have the right to use Burberry products."

Cribber stared into Tang Shuo's eyes and said after a long silence, "I promise you."

"Thank you, Mr. Barber." Tang Shuo nodded with a smile and said to Kerry Barber, "I hope that when Mr. Barber and I sign the contract, he can hold a press conference to announce this matter to the public."

Having already agreed to so many unequal conditions from Tang Shuo, Cribaber naturally would not continue to argue with the other party over trivial matters, so after Tang Shuo finished speaking, he immediately agreed.

"I'm sure you're well aware of what our product represents," Kribabur said. "I'll inform the designer I'm sending over. If your hardware requirements don't meet them, I won't agree to this."

"Of course." Tang Shuo nodded.

What Cribber meant was probably that this sub-brand must be made more upscale, rather than just casually producing something that is not presentable at all.

On this point, Cribber agreed with Tang Shuo. He had originally intended to treat this sub-brand as an important career rather than just to make a quick buck, so he certainly had no objection to this.

Seeing that Cribber had finished his explanation, Tang Shuo took the initiative to continue, "I hope our cooperation can continue happily. We plan to open our first retail store at the end of this month. I hope Mr. Barber can prepare some formalities before then."

Tang Shuo then stood up and said to Cribber, who was about to speak, "Mr. Barber, there's no need to see me off."

Who the hell said they would give it to you?

After Tang Shuo left, a series of strange noises were heard in Cribber's office. Anyone with a little experience could tell that it was the sound of something falling to the ground.

The inner door of Cribber's office was opened, and a man of the same age as Cribber walked out.

"John."

Cribber put down the cup of water he was about to throw away and said to the man who was leaving, "What should I do now?"

"Didn't you already agree to it?" the man replied. "I can't fathom this Chinese guy. Let's sign the contract as agreed and see what happens next."

"Yes." Cribbble agreed.

After leaving the Burberry headquarters, Tang Shuo did not go back directly, but stopped a car and went to Zhang Jingxin's place.

Now that everything has been finalized, the first thing to do is to inform everyone, and there are a few very important things that need to be discussed, such as the brand name and logo, and the location of the first retail store.

After Tang Shuo arrived at the company, he immediately called Zhang Jingxin and Yang Chen to the office that was temporarily vacated for him and told them the progress made in the negotiations with Burberry.

Zhang Jingxin and Yang Chen were stunned for a long time after listening to Tang Shuo's description. Although Tang Shuo had told them about this matter in advance, the current situation still made them very excited.

"What demands did they make?" Zhang Jingxin asked immediately.

Even though Tang Shuo simply glossed over the cause of his situation, anyone who knew a little about this industry would not think that this was a simple matter.

"The licensing management fee is 5% of the net profit of each product." Tang Shuo replied with a smile.

Zhang Jingxin was startled, then asked again: "How much?"

Tang repeated with a smile, then said to the two, "I think you'll be busy for a while. We'll sign the contract in about a week, and the first retail store will open at the end of the month."

"Although the time is a bit tight, it's not a big problem." Yang Chen, who had been silent the whole time, frowned and said, "The key is that our current funds may not be able to keep up."

The development of the company here depends entirely on the profits from Shengtang Real Estate's pre-sales. Now Guangyue has started two new projects at the same time.

If we develop slowly, even if there is a funding gap, we can still cope with it if we just hold on. But Tang Shuo arranged the time so fast, and almost everything he mentioned required a lot of money, which seemed a bit stretched.

"I'll figure out a way to deal with this."

Tang Shuo said, "You two should discuss and assign tasks, and hurry up and get them done."
