Chapter 440: Monkey (Part 2)
"I need you to do me a favor."
The monkey looked at Mason and finally said the words that Mason least wanted to hear.
Mason immediately showed a bitter look on his face. After swallowing the food in his mouth, he asked in a low voice, "What can I do for you?"
"Don't be nervous, it won't be too troublesome." The monkey comforted him.
It would be strange if I wasn’t nervous!
I'm just a small-time thug who's a bit stronger than the average person and hasn't even fired a gun many times. How can I compare myself to a madman?
Mason curled his lips in dissatisfaction. He was now certain that all the doubts he had in his previous life combined could not compare to the entanglement he was facing now.
In his mind, he had already classified Tang Shuo and Monkey as people he should not associate with. If it weren't for Pengte's order and his concerns about Tang Shuo and Monkey, he would have hidden himself long ago.
Even so, Mason decided that if the monkey asked him to take the risk, he would run away.
"Help me find someone of similar size to me and test whether the police will come to arrest me." The monkey said: "Don't worry, there will be no accidents. If the police find the wrong person, they will just let him go, and I will give him a reward of 100,000 pounds afterwards."
Monkey's words weren't random. After Tang Shuo temporarily borrowed a portion of 037's black gold, there was still some left. Let alone 100,000. Even throwing out a million wouldn't be a big deal.
But the monkey did not offer a reward that was too high, because he knew that if it was too high, it would arouse the other party's vigilance.
After hearing Monkey's request, Mason finally felt relieved. After all, Monkey wanted him to find someone to test the police's reaction, not to fight with the Lawrence family, not to mention the £100,000 reward.
After looking at the monkey for a few seconds, Mason began to hesitate again.
"About the same size as you..."
Monkey was a typical Chinese from the four continents, only 1.7 meters tall and rather agile. Mason, on the other hand, was almost always a large man, and it was difficult to find someone of similar build.
"I can go back and ask for you. I should be able to find it among the students." Mason said.
"How long will it take?" the monkey asked in confusion.
"Before noon tomorrow."
"It's been too long. There's no time left." The monkey shook his head and said again, "I need it now."
Mason thought carefully for a moment, then suddenly said, "But I know someone who has only one arm like you. He's taller than you, but no one should be able to tell the difference at night."
"Okay!" The monkey had no choice but to compromise. He stood up and said, "Take me there quickly."
Mason nodded, glanced reluctantly at the pizza on the table, and followed the monkey out.
…
A private old house in the city.
A young man in white stood at the window in the corridor, looking quietly at the sky above his head.
It had been raining in London recently, and it happened to be night. Not only were there no stars in the sky, but even the moon was invisible. No one knew what the man in white was thinking.
There was a faint sound of footsteps, and a black man walked up to the man, leaning forward slightly and saying, "The doctor said that Tang Shuo has lost too much blood and has previous injuries. His condition is very critical, and he probably can't be saved."
The man in white hesitated for a moment and said, "Tell the doctor that if the patient dies, he will be buried with him."
The black man seemed a little surprised by the words of the man in white. After a moment's pause, he asked cautiously, "Are we still leaving tonight?"
"I'm not leaving for now."
"Yes." The black man agreed and then quietly retreated.
…
Monkey nodded in satisfaction when he saw the one-armed man Mason had mentioned. Although he was half a head taller and a bit more muscular, it was winter now, so he only needed to wear light clothing to avoid being recognized.
"You just need to help me find out if there are any policemen around, and the hundred thousand pounds will be yours." The monkey said to the one-armed man who was half a head taller than him.
"When can I get the money?" the one-armed man asked directly.
"Wait until it's over," the monkey replied.
The one-armed man doubted the truthfulness of what the monkey said and turned his attention to Mason.
Is this money really that easy to make?
Mason scolded with a smile: "Don't worry about the money. You might get hurt a little, but just hold on."
He knew that Tang Shuo had given Peng Te money to squander, so he was completely confident in Monkey's financial resources.
With Mason's assurance, the one-armed man immediately agreed: "No problem, when are we going?"
"Now," the monkey replied, "find a piece of clothing to cover your head, and I will tell you the rest on the way."
"Okay." The one-armed man pulled out a black hooded sweatshirt, put it on, and said, "Do you think it's okay?"
The monkey nodded, then went out and drove the two of them towards the manor. On the way, the monkey explained the general situation to the tall one-armed man, as well as the details that needed attention.
They were still far away from the manor, so Monkey and his companions got out of the car and gave the tall one-armed man some instructions again. Then Monkey and Mason hid themselves, and then Monkey called Miranda again.
…
Miranda hung up the phone and said to Karl who was sitting on the side: “He’s gone.”
Karl immediately said, “Catch him quickly!”
"Have you told your bodyguard?" Miranda asked, "There are some things I can't interfere with."
"Everyone has been notified. As long as he dares to go in, he will not be able to escape." Carl said viciously.
"Yeah." Miranda nodded and said, "Let's wait for the news!"
After saying this, Miranda seemed to have lost interest in talking to Karl, and picked up the coffee and drank it by herself.
Not long after, Karl's cell phone rang.
Carl answered the phone happily, but the first sentence he heard on the phone made his face twist.
"We caught the wrong guy!" Parker said on the other end of the phone. "There's a one-armed man, but he's just a thief."
"Waste!" Carl cursed, then said, "Look carefully."
"What's wrong?" Miranda asked.
Carl hung up the phone and replied, "Parker said they arrested the wrong guy."
“…”
Miranda's expression changed, and after taking a deep breath, she leaned back on the sofa.
Although she didn't say anything, judging from the violent heaving of her chest, she was obviously very angry about this matter.
Seeing Miranda’s look, Karl hurriedly said, “What should we do now? Call again and tell me!”
"idiot!"
Miranda cursed, then stood up from the sofa and walked directly out to the hall.
Only then did Carl realize that the situation was much more serious than he had thought. He sat on the sofa and pondered for a while, and finally ran out of the hall like a madman.
…
Jeff was the political editor of The Times, and as usual, after working a night shift, he was extremely sleepy.
The Times is a comprehensive national daily newspaper that publishes every day and has a huge impact on the world's politics, economy and culture. As the editor of the most important political department in the newspaper, Jeff's work ability is undoubtedly outstanding.
He poured himself another cup of coffee, took a sip, and then opened his email out of habit.
Seeing a new video submission in his mailbox, Jeff opened the email.
After he read the content of the submission, he moved the cursor to the close option. When he was about to click it, Jeff hesitated for a moment and finally clicked on the video.
At the beginning, the video screen was pitch black, and Jeff smiled at himself.
He had already seen through the unreality of the video, but he was so bored that he just clicked on it.
Just as he was about to close the video again, a man's voice rang out on the screen, and Jeff hesitated again. After he heard the conversation clearly, his eyes lit up instantly, and all the fatigue in his body disappeared.
What surprised him even more was that when the video was halfway through, the originally pitch black video suddenly had a picture.
After watching the five-minute video, Jeff sat in front of the computer in a daze for a moment, then immediately picked up the phone to report the matter.
