Deer costume
Hearing his request, Wen Ya looked down at him helplessly. He squinted his eyes, his vision hazy from his drunkenness. He said nothing more, but quietly raised his head, waiting for her kiss.
Wen Ya smiled, reached out to hold his face, and kissed him lightly on the lips. But just as she was about to stand up, he suddenly reached out and pulled her hard, and Wen Ya rushed towards him.
His hands went around her waist without her actually bumping into anything. His arms were a little warm now. Wen Ya raised her head from his arms, and before she could say anything, he lowered his head and kissed her again.
Just when Wen Ya was a little dazed from the kiss, he suddenly left her lips and whispered softly, "There's no one else in the bedroom. Can I kiss you a little longer?"
His voice was soft, tinged with a hint of cautious pleading. Wen Ya didn't answer, but instead put her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Wen Ya didn't know when he had pushed her onto the bed. Finally, he gently kissed her snow-white earlobe and let her go. Wen Ya stayed with him in the bedroom for a while, waiting until Gu Xunli fell asleep. Then she tucked him in and left the room.
The fur balls and 009 were still in the living room. The balls were eating the snacks Wen Ya had left for them, while 009 was looking down at his corners. When they heard the door open, they all looked up at her in unison.
It was getting late, and they still hadn't eaten. Wen Ya ordered takeout, which arrived at her dorm moments later. She ordered a variety of dishes and a glass of delicious milk for each of the furry children.
The small room was filled with the aroma of food. 009 quietly swallowed his saliva when no one was watching. Wen Ya placed the food on the dining table, looked at the fur balls that were almost drooling, and said with a smile, "You haven't eaten all day, come and have something to eat."
The fur balls were not polite. When they heard Wen Ya say that it was time to eat, they immediately surrounded her and forgot about their deer brother in the blink of an eye.
009 didn't go over at first. He thought Wen Ya would ask him to come over again if she saw he wasn't going to dinner. But she didn't. He waited there for a long time, all alone. Wen Ya and the others seemed to have forgotten him, not saying a word to him.
The aroma of food in the room was so strong that 009 couldn't hold back any longer. He swallowed silently and walked to the table.
Forget it, face is nothing, it’s not as important as food.
Wen Ya and Mao Tuanzi hadn't waited for him; they had already started eating. The Mao Tuanzi were all gathered around the table, each with their own food on a small plate. Some were sipping on their bottles of milk.
009 took a few bites before his eyes widened in surprise. This human food was actually quite delicious. He couldn't resist eating a little more. Wen Ya had been watching them the whole time. 009 and the fur balls seemed to really enjoy eating human food, as if they had rarely eaten it before.
She had no idea what the food at the center was like. But she knew the cute little balls in the shelter building could eat human food. Jiang Shu would give them fresh milk and fruit every day.
Wen Ya thought for a moment and asked 009, who was enjoying his meal, "Have you rarely eaten these things before?"
009 replied while eating: "Well, they only give us nutrient solution."
After hearing what he said, Wen Ya suddenly understood them. No wonder the fur balls loved snacks so much. She also knew about nutrient solution. It actually tasted pretty good, contained all the essential nutrients, and was quite convenient to use.
The fur balls weren't big, but they had big appetites. They'd already eaten quite a bit, but they were still scrambling for food. Wen Ya looked at them, then looked up at 009 and asked, "They weren't like this when they came out before, were they?"
She had barely finished her words when she saw 009 pause in his eating. Wen Ya fell silent before asking, "You probably guess what I want to know. Why did they all shrink, but you didn't? Why did you run away? Or did the Central Department do something to you?"
"Maybe it's because of their genes." 009 looked down at the furry balls. They were definitely not like this before. "We ran away because, because..."
009 didn't finish his words, his sobs growing more and more severe. His eyes were filled with tears, and he looked like he was about to cry again.
Wen Ya: “…”
She now has good reason to suspect that this 009 has also undergone genetic mutation.
However, she was not fooled by the pitiful 009. She continued to ask, "Why?"
"Because of those people in the central department... We're having a really hard time in there. We're not given any food to eat, and we're not allowed to touch our vegetables. We're living a life worse than pigs and dogs!"
The furry little kids noticed their conversation and looked up curiously to listen. After hearing what 009 said, they all looked at him with confusion.
What on earth is Brother Deer saying? Why can't they understand?
The innocent big eyes of the furry balls easily exposed him, so 009 calmly held down the little heads of the two furry balls beside him.
Wen Ya: “…”
Is she blind?
009 clearly had no intention of talking to her properly, so Wen Ya didn't ask them any further. It was already late, and it was getting dark outside. The little nest Wen Ya had prepared for the fur balls was still there. After eating, the fur balls felt a little sleepy and went to their own nests.
Wen Ya looked at 009, who was now an adult, and asked, "Are you planning on leaving or staying?"
009 suddenly raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you going to let me go?"
Wen Ya nodded seriously, and 009 looked at her suspiciously. Then he heard Wen Ya continue, "I've memorized your scent. No matter how far you run, I can find you, so it doesn't matter."
009: “…”
He didn't know why, but he always felt that the girl in front of him was not lying to him. Although he had never seen her take action, he inexplicably believed in her strength.
Since he'd be found sooner or later anyway, he might as well sleep here. 009 was happy to sleep on the living room sofa tonight. Wen Ya handed him a clean, thin blanket and went back to her bedroom.
After Wen Ya left, the dark living room suddenly became quite quiet. Faint moonlight shone in, and 009, who had been lying on the sofa, suddenly sat up.
He reached out and slowly rubbed his antlers, and then his broken antlers grew out again very quickly.
He narrowed his eyes and looked towards Wen Ya's room. This girl was truly strange. She seemed to possess a strange power. He didn't reject this power at all; instead, he felt quite at home with it. No wonder the fur balls liked her so much.
The fur balls were already sleeping peacefully. 009 walked over to their nest, covered them with a small blanket, looked at them, and said softly but firmly, "Don't worry, I will definitely take you away."
009 probably didn't expect that his unusual behavior was seen by Wen Ya. Wen Ya didn't trust him in the first place, so she placed a camera in her living room that was not easy to detect.
She felt that 009, who had brought so many alien creatures out, couldn't be as simple as he appeared. Was the pitiful and innocent look he showed during the day just an act for her?
