Chapter 100 Hail

After everything was finally tidied up, Bai Jing took Yu Wanwan's hand and walked out.

Before they even reached the cave entrance, they saw the shaman approaching with a grim expression: "Chief, you can't lead the team out; it's too dangerous."

Hearing that there was danger, Yu Wanwan asked anxiously, "Grandpa Witch Doctor, what happened?"

The witch doctor pulled out several irregularly shaped stones, frowned, and said, "I just performed a divination. There will be a large hailstorm in a few days. If you go out, you will definitely encounter danger."

Divination and medicine are both skills of shamans. Some shamans are better at divination, while others are better at medicine. The shaman of the White Tiger tribe belongs to the former category, and his divinations are generally accurate.

Bai Jing asked, "How many days will the hail last?"

"A hailstorm can last anywhere from one or two days to half a month, and after a few days of respite, it will continue to rain."

Upon hearing this, Bai Jing frowned slightly.

His trip was already rushed. If he rested for a few more days before setting off, he wouldn't be able to return before the snow. By then, the heavy snow would have blocked the mountain passes, the salt crystals might have melted, and it was uncertain whether they would even be able to return safely.

However, the little female simply cannot survive without salt crystals. For the past few days, she has been eating food made with those low-quality salt crystals every night, which is almost impossible to swallow. Although she has been trying very hard to eat, the consequence of being forced to eat is that she vomits after every three meals. After a few days, the little female's cheeks have become quite thin.

Yu Wanwan's recent condition is no different from that of women who suffer from severe morning sickness and cannot eat.

Bai Jing said, "It's alright. If we encounter hail, we'll find a cave to take shelter in."

"No." Yu Wanwan gripped Bai Jing's hand tightly. "Grandpa the witch doctor said it's dangerous. I can't let you go."

Bai Jing pinched her cheek and smiled gently: "Wanwan, don't worry about me, I will bring Yan Jing back."

The shaman also said, "Bai Jing, I've determined that this hailstorm is very severe. Even if you awaken your ancestral power, I don't recommend you go out. This trip could very well be dangerous!"

Yu Wanwan didn't believe in fortune telling or divination before, but when it came to Bai Jing's safety, she had no choice but to believe it.

She didn't want Bai Jing to be in danger.

"Wanwan, I'll be careful."

In the midst of the struggle, a series of muffled sounds suddenly rang out from outside the cave.

When the group reached the cave entrance, they discovered that the hailstorm the witch doctor had predicted had arrived ahead of schedule.

Yu Wanwan stared in astonishment at the hailstones, some as big as footballs. No wonder the witch doctor said there would be danger; if such large chunks of ice fell, even if one didn't die, one would be half-dead.

Many orcs were still outside when they noticed the hailstorm. They hurriedly put down what they were doing, shielded their heads with their hands, and rushed into the cave.

Yu Wanwan noticed the animals she had left outside and instinctively wanted to run over and herd them into the cave, but Bai Jing grabbed her arm and frowned, saying, "Wanwan, it's too dangerous, you can't go."

Huge hailstones pelted down, quickly hitting the animals. The captive animals screamed in agony, and blood even flowed from the fence, staining the ground red.

Yu Wanwan was held in his arms, feeling both heartache and anxiety as she looked at the animal she had painstakingly raised.

The hailstorm didn't stop until almost nightfall.

The orcs who had escaped the calamity emerged from the cave.

Yu Wanwan, led by Bai Jing, also went to see the animals in the fence.

The hail was so dense that it damaged the fence. Some animals escaped and hid in caves, but most of them were killed, and several were severely injured, their flesh mangled.

Yu Wanwan only glanced at it before she couldn't bear to look any longer and buried her face in Bai Jing's arms.

This hailstorm caused heavy losses to the White Tiger tribe.

Hearing that it would hail again in the next few days, the beastmen quickly herded the surviving animals into the caves and dared not let them out for the next few days, for fear that they would be crushed to death again if they came out.

Watching the hailstones pelting down, Mo Zhou couldn't help but sigh, "I should have listened to Wanwan and gone to the beach to collect sea salt. Now look what's happened. With the hail coming, Bai Jing can't set off. Forget about sea salt, in a few more days we won't even have fresh beast blood to drink."

Fei Han, who was cooking, chimed in, "Bai Jing is doing this for Wan Wan's own good."

Mo Zhou scoffed and leaned against the mountain wall with his arms crossed: "Bai Jing is only interfering in everything because he wants to take my place as the number one partner."

Fei Han glanced at Mo Zhou but said nothing.

They had a fight about this, which made the atmosphere at home awkward for several days. Although he had gotten the better deal and slept with the young female for several days, he was even more unwilling to see Wanwan sad.

Seeing that Fei Han ignored him, Mo Zhou didn't mind and continued, "If Wanwan hadn't said that everyone's status is equally important, I would have definitely fought with Bai Jing and shown him who should be in charge at home."

He didn't argue with Bai Jing because he couldn't take Yu Wanwan to the beach. He was afraid that Yu Wanwan didn't have feelings for him and only had feelings for Bai Jing. However, after that incident, Yu Wanwan explained to him for a long time in bed and coaxed him in various ways, which made Mo Zhou feel like his heart was soaking in sweet water. So he didn't want to hold a grudge against Bai Jing anymore.

Just as he was basking in the sweetness of the past few days, Mo Zhou suddenly saw Fei Han sprinkling salt on his hand and said irritably, "You bird and beast, can you take it easy? The dishes you made made Wan Wan want to vomit."

Fei Han's forehead veins throbbed, and she replied in an equally irritated tone, "If you're so good, then you do it. This salt crystal is inherently awful, and we can't refuse to eat it. What can I do?"

"But it can't be this badly made." Mo Zhou picked up a piece of meat.
