Chapter 116 The Femme Fatale

"How about we find her some medicine first?"

Do you know which medicine on land can be used to treat wounds?

"I don't know either."

Yu Wanwan, who was being helped up, suddenly interjected, "How about this, you leave me here and I'll wait for my partner to come back and get the medicine, so we won't bother you."

The merman glanced down at her, then smirked, "Do you think we're stupid? Your partner is here; how are we supposed to take you back?"

“No.” Yu Wanwan twisted her wrist, which they were holding tightly. “It’s no use you’re grabbing me. I’m not the person you’re looking for.”

"We'll know once we take her back to the elders." The merman looked at her face, his tone softening. "Don't worry, little female. You're so beautiful, we'll treat you well, hehehe."

This scene resembled human traffickers abducting innocent women. Yu Wanwan's hands were tied up, and a mermaid carried her on his back, heading towards the sea.

Yu Wanwan clung to his back, wondering why Fei Han hadn't arrived yet, while trying to figure out a way to escape.

The bushes in front of her suddenly twitched twice. Yu Wanwan thought it was Fei Han who had arrived. Her smile had barely appeared on her face when she saw a large group of merfolk push through the bushes and come out, surrounding Yu Wanwan.

Well, it seems there's no escaping it now.

After many days, Yu Wanwan came to the seaside again.

The mermaid carrying her didn't put Yu Wanwan down; instead, he walked directly into the water.

In a panic, Yu Wanwan grabbed his neck with her hands: "No, I'll drown!"

The mermaid captain next to her glanced at Yu Wanwan, her face flushed but her tone stiff, and said, "Don't worry, we won't let you die."

Seeing that the seawater had reached her chin, Yu Wanwan subconsciously held her breath.

The mermaid captain suddenly puffed out his cheeks, and a big bubble blew out of his mouth.

The bubble kept getting bigger until it became bigger than Yu Wanwan's head.

The mermaid captain held the bubble in his hands and moved closer to Yu Wanwan. After a soft popping sound, the bubble covered Yu Wanwan's head.

Yu Wanwan couldn't help but shake her head, and the bubbles swayed along with her.

The mermaid captain blushed, but said expressionlessly, "This bubble will allow you to breathe underwater."

Yu Wanwan blinked, looking bewildered.

The mermaid captain blushed even more and silently turned his face away.

He tied Yu Wanwan's hands together, then left the longer end out and held it in his own hand, and swam into the deep sea with Yu Wanwan in this way.

The scenery in front of her was beautiful, but as a hostage, Yu Wanwan had no mind to appreciate it. She didn't dare touch the bubbles covering her head, afraid that she would pop them and drown.

The deeper she went, the darker the scenery became. Yu Wanwan gradually felt that she was falling more and more difficult, as if something was pressing down on her body, making it hard to breathe.

Realizing she was feeling unwell, Yu Wanwan moved her hands, and the swaying of the rope immediately caught the attention of the mermaid captain. He turned around and saw Yu Wanwan's pale face: "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm not feeling well, you can't take me with you."

"No," the mermaid captain refused firmly, "You must come back with me."

"But I can't stay in the sea."

Yu Wanwan gritted her teeth. She felt heavy all over and her vision was blurry. A fish swam past her and suddenly turned into two.

This made her wonder if she might have a bit of thalassophobia.

The mermaid captain ignored her and continued swimming forward. After an unknown amount of time, Yu Wanwan finally couldn't take it anymore, closed her eyes, and fainted.

The mermaid who had been watching Yu Wanwan's condition immediately exclaimed, "Captain, something bad has happened! The little female has fainted!"

The mermaid captain turned around and, sure enough, saw the unconscious Yu Wanwan.

He pulled the rope in his hand, and Yu Wanwan fell into his arms. It was the first time the mermaid captain had ever held a female, and he was thrilled by the little female's soft body. But now was not the time to be excited. He exhaled and blew out a bubble to calm himself down before checking on Yu Wanwan.

The little female was pale and breathing weakly; she had indeed fainted.

A merman asked, "Captain, what should we do now?"

The mermaid captain stared blankly at Yu Wanwan, who remained motionless, and shook his head.

"Didn't she say before that she couldn't stay in the sea? Does she have some kind of illness?"

"Does such a disease exist? I've never heard of it before."

"Maybe she's lying. We'll take her back and have a witch doctor examine her, then we'll know."

"What if she dies before we get there? I've never seen such a beautiful female." His face was full of regret and admiration.

"Captain, what should we do now?"

The fish-folk gathered around Yu Wanwan, all staring at the merman captain.

The mermaid captain wanted to say, "Let's keep going," but when he touched Yu Wanwan's soft, powerless hand, his words changed: "Let's go ashore first and wait for the females to wake up before returning to the seabed."

"Captain, isn't this a bit inappropriate?" a merman questioned.

The mermaid captain glanced at him, his face stern and cold: "Let's go ashore. You take a few people and inform the elders."

The mermaid captain led a group of mermaids to a small island in the sea. As soon as they emerged from the water, the bubbles covering Yu Wanwan's head burst.

Yu Wanwan was placed on the soft sand. Although she was already on the sea, she was still unconscious.
