Fei Han opened the door and led Yu Wanwan inside.
The broadwood is different from other tree species. Legend has it that it was a tree specially given by the Beast God for the Dan Bird clan to live in.
It is hollow inside, with hard bark, and has a large space that allows the Danbird Clan to live inside directly.
Feihan's treehouse is three stories high. The bottom floor is the living room and kitchen, the second floor is the study and pharmacy, and the third floor is the bedroom and a small platform.
Yu Wanwan fell in love with the treehouse almost at first sight, but the herbs inside were all very precious, and she dared not touch them easily, for fear of accidentally damaging them.
Fei Han found the little female sitting upright, looking incredibly cute, though she seemed very curious but hesitant to move.
Fei Han cupped Yu Wanwan's face, squeezing out all the flesh on her cheeks, and gave her a big kiss on the lips, saying affectionately, "Wanwan, go and look around. This will be your home from now on."
Yu Wanwan felt dizzy from his kisses, and she rubbed her cheeks: "But what if I accidentally break something?"
"So what if it's broken?" Fei Han patted her head. "Nothing is more important than you."
Fei Han even maliciously wanted Yu Wanwan to actually break it a little. Given Yu Wanwan's personality, she would definitely feel embarrassed and make amends to him. The thought of being able to do whatever he wanted to the little female in the place where he grew up made Fei Han unable to contain his excitement.
Yu Wanwan, of course, had no idea about his little scheme.
Having received Fei Han's approval, Yu Wanwan was finally able to relax and enjoy the tour.
The furniture in Fei Han's home was completely different from that in the White Tiger Tribe; it was all made of wood, which made people feel very warm and cozy.
For example, the tables in the living room are all made of wood, and the chairs are made by carving out a hole in a tree stump and then placing soft cushions and animal hides on them, making them look no different from modern sofas.
There weren't many decorations on the table. In the center, a wooden vase held some bouquets of flowers that looked freshly picked that day.
Yu Wanwan went up the stairs along the wall to the second floor.
The study and pharmacy on the second floor were filled with herbs, and behind the desk was a bookshelf with what looked like tree bark or something similar on it.
Yu Wanwan took one down to look at it, and what she found inside was shocking.
"Feihan, Feihan, come quick!"
Upon hearing Yu Wanwan's cry, Fei Han immediately dropped what she was doing and rushed upstairs: "Wanwan, what's wrong? What happened? Are you hurt?"
Without saying a word, he grabbed Yu Wanwan and examined her from head to toe. He was relieved to find no wounds on her body.
"It wasn't me, it was this." Yu Wanwan pointed to the tree bark in her hand: "Who told you about the writing on this?"
Fei Han leaned closer for a look and said, "These are characters created by the destined person a thousand years ago."
"The one destined for me?" Yu Wanwan murmured.
The witch doctor grandfather once told her that the destined person was sent by the Beast God to protect the Beastman Continent, but Fei Han said that the writing on this was created by the destined person. If it were some ancient script, that would be fine, but now it is clearly simplified Chinese characters!
What does this mean? It means that the destined person was not created by the Beast God, nor is she a female from the Beastman Continent, but rather comes from the same era and the same place as her!
Yu Wanwan's expression shifted rapidly, and Fei Han couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong, Wanwan?"
Yu Wanwan shook her head and handed him the animal hide: "The writing on this is exactly the same as the writing in my hometown, so I'm a little excited."
"The same script as in your hometown?" Fei Han asked in surprise. "Wanwan, you can read?"
“I recognize it.” Yu Wanwan scratched her face.
She did receive nine years of compulsory education, so it's unlikely she wouldn't recognize simplified Chinese characters.
"Feihan, you can read too?"
Fei Han nodded.
The two, who each believed the other to be illiterate, fell into deep thought.
Fei Han was the first to react. He patted Yu Wanwan's head and chuckled, "My little female is really amazing. She can weave bamboo baskets and rattan bags, and now she can even recognize characters."
In the Beastman Continent, written language is an extremely precious thing, and it has always been monopolized by the upper-class nobles and forbidden to be passed on. Fei Han was only qualified to come into contact with written language after studying medicine.
In Yu Wanwan's hometown, almost everyone recognizes such a precious item.
Knowing that her destined person was her "senior" who had also popularized knowledge among the beastmen, Yu Wanwan couldn't help but feel excited: "Since the beastman continent has a written language, let's go back and teach everyone to write. It will be more convenient for us to write letters in the future, and we won't have to worry about our messages being overheard."
As soon as Yu Wanwan arrived in Beast City, she wanted to send a message to Bai Jing. She had so much to say to Bai Jing, but she was too embarrassed to let anyone hear it, so she had to cut and cut back on what she wanted to say, and in the end she just reported that she was safe.
Fei Han shook her head: "Beast City has clear regulations that ordinary beastmen are not allowed to circulate written texts. You can tell Bai Jing and Mo Zhou, but you can't teach it on a large scale, otherwise you'll be arrested."
"Huh? Is it that serious?" Hearing that she was going to be arrested, Yu Wanwan lowered her head in frustration, and her little flame of excitement was immediately extinguished.
She hadn't expected that the beastmen were so resistant to change. If written language wasn't widely disseminated and taught, it wouldn't be of much use, and the pace of social progress would be greatly slowed down.
No wonder that even after so much time has passed, the Orcish Continent is still like a primitive society and hasn't developed much. It's all because of that small group of so-called noble orcs that they have hindered the progress of the entire continent.
