The sharp spear pierced the ground in front of Yu Wanwan. If she had run any faster, it would have pierced her instep.
During this brief pause, the pursuers caught up and blocked their path. Wang Ye had no choice but to retreat with Yu Wanwan, forcing them onto the right-hand path.

Yu Wanwan staggered back two steps, her legs gave way, and she fell to the ground.
Although he was too exhausted to stand, his hands, as if out of control, still gripped the spear tightly.
