The sharp spear pierced the ground in front of Yu Wanwan. If she had run any faster, it would have pierced her instep.
During this brief pause, the pursuers caught up and blocked their path. Wang Ye had no choice but to retreat with Yu Wanwan, forcing them onto the right-hand path.
The Beast King Palace is located halfway up the mountain, with a bottomless cliff behind it. Wang Ye originally wanted to take Yu Wanwan to the left to leave the Beast King Palace, but now he is forced to take the right path up the cliff.
They ran uphill, and by this time, only four people remained behind Yu Wanwan and the others. Nana and about ten beast soldiers were chasing after them. If Wangye hadn't been injured, these people wouldn't have been a match for him. However, Wangye's injuries hadn't fully healed, and he could only escape with Yu Wanwan's help.
Seeing that she was about to catch Yu Wanwan, Nana was extremely excited, her eyes wide open, almost popping out of their sockets.
After the last four orcs protecting Yu Wanwan fell, Wangye transformed into his beast form and began fighting the pursuers.
Yu Wanwan still tightly gripped the spear Fei Han had given her, using her meager strength to protect herself and try not to burden Wang Ye.
Nana could no longer hold back and pounced on Yu Wanwan.
Seeing this, Wang Ye shook off the orc next to him and ran towards Yu Wanwan.
At this moment, Nana had already reached Yu Wanwan. She had an excited and eerie smile on her face, and one of her hands had turned into a beast claw, gleaming with a sharp, cold light.
Behind her stood a majestic white wolf, its body half-red with blood.
White Wolf stepped on Nana's back, pinning her to the ground.
But that wasn't enough. The white wolf bit her arm and tore it off. Nana's shrill screams echoed in Yu Wanwan's ears like ghosts.
Wangye dodged the spear that was thrust at him, then bit Nana's neck. After a brief pause, Nana's head was severed by Wangye's bite.
Blood gushed down his neck, quickly staining a patch of grass red.
Yu Wanwan turned pale with fright at the sight of the dismembered body.
She had seen orcs fight before, but they were all in their beast form. Although it was very intense, it didn't have the same impact as when they were in human form.
Yu Wanwan staggered back two steps, her legs gave way, and she fell to the ground.
Although he was too exhausted to stand, his hands, as if out of control, still gripped the spear tightly.
Yu Wanwan sat stiffly on the ground, unable to move, when an orc charged at her from behind.
Wang Ye dodged the attack and, seeing this scene, immediately headed towards Yu Wanwan's direction.
Yu Wanwan watched helplessly as the terrifying white wolf charged towards her. She tried to stand up and run away, but her body wouldn't move no matter what she did.
Warm blood flowed from the wolf's mouth, its sharp fangs seeming ready to bite off her neck at any moment.
Yu Wanwan instinctively closed her eyes as the white wolf brushed past her body and bit the beastman behind her.
Nana was no longer breathing, but the battle continued.
Yu Wanwan didn't want to die here. She closed her eyes, exhaled a breath of stale air, then bit her lip tightly, supporting herself with the spear, and struggled to stand up from the ground.
An orc bit into Wangye's flesh, causing him to howl in pain.
Upon seeing this, Yu Wanwan's knuckles turned white as she gripped the spear.
She couldn't die here. She had to go back to save Fei Han, wait for Bai Jing to come and take her home, and there was also Mo Zhou, who was still in the palace. If he was discovered, he would surely be killed!
She wanted to stay with them and live happily ever after; she absolutely couldn't lose her life here!
Thinking of her partners, Yu Wanwan felt a surge of courage. She had already bitten her lips until they bled. At this moment, Yu Wanwan was like a wild beast lurking in the darkness, just waiting to deliver a fatal blow to its prey!
Just as the orc turned its back to her, a glint flashed in Yu Wanwan's eyes. She raised her spear and plunged it into the orc's body with all her might.
Yu Wanwan wasn't very strong to begin with, but now it seemed like she had unleashed boundless power. Her spear pierced through the orc's body, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to believe until his death that he would die at the hands of a female.
Wang Ye never expected that Yu Wanwan, who had just been as weak as a chicken, would kill an orc with a single move. He grabbed Yu Wanwan by the back of her collar, dodged the orc that pounced on him, and tossed her onto his back.
From beginning to end, she held the spear tightly in her hand, refusing to let go for even a moment.
Wangye was already at his limit, clinging to life by sheer willpower. He was forced to take another step back by the pursuing orcs, with a bottomless abyss behind him.
Wang Ye's eyes were like knives, and he let out a beastly roar. The pursuing orcs, intimidated by his imposing presence, dared not approach for a moment.
However, Wangye also knew that he couldn't afford to waste any more time here with them, or things would get bad if their main force arrived.
He moved his front leg back, then turned his head and jumped off the cliff without hesitation.
Yu Wanwan grabbed his hair tightly, closed her eyes tightly, and dared not open them. The whistling wind passed by her ears and hands.
She felt as if she were flying. After several moments of weightlessness and turbulence, Yu Wanwan was slammed to the ground, her back hitting a rock, and she immediately passed out.
When I opened my eyes again, it was already dark. All around me was a barren land, covered with sand and stones. The few plants that were there were yellow and wilted, looking listless.
She propped herself up to sit up, wincing in pain from the injury on her back, and breaking out in a cold sweat.
"Where...where am I?" Yu Wanwan brushed her hair, which was damp with cold sweat, aside and began to recall what had happened.
