"So what should I do now?"
"I'll go find some water to clean your wound," Yu Wanwan said, taking a handkerchief out of her bag and heading to find water.
Seeing that she was going in the wrong direction, Wangye said, "Go to the left."
"All right."
Following the direction Wang Ye pointed, Yu Wanwan indeed found water a little further away. She tore off a large leaf, filled it with water, wet her handkerchief, and then ran back without stopping.
"Wangye, come and have some water."
Wangye drank the water from her hand and felt much better in his throat.
At this moment, Yu Wanwan lowered her eyes and carefully cleaned her wounds, gentle and focused, as if she were treating a delicate cub.
The damp handkerchief fell gently on him like a feather, making his whole heart itch.
Wangye couldn't help but stare at her.
The females of the Orc Continent are rude and selfish, only knowing their own interests. If someone is injured, they will only worry about whether the other person's blood will stain their clothes. How could they possibly take care of people like Yu Wanwan?
After wiping it, the handkerchief became quite dirty. Yu Wanwan said, "Wait here for me, I'll go wash the handkerchief and come right back."
Wang Ye wanted to say he could switch seats, but seeing the care and concern in Yu Wanwan's eyes, he swallowed his words and said, "Okay."
After running back and forth several times, Yu Wanwan finally managed to clean his upper body. As for his lower body, Yu Wanwan was too embarrassed to do it herself, so she handed him a handkerchief and told him to clean it himself.
Wang Ye was much rougher when he cleaned it himself. He didn't know his own strength and tore open the slightly healed wound several times. After the blood flowed out, he realized that he had used too much force.
After cleaning everything up, Yu Wanwan applied the medicinal herbs to his wounds, then gathered some firewood and lit a campfire nearby.
Yu Wanwan huddled up, hugging her knees. The firelight cast a warm glow on her face. Wang Ye looked at her and couldn't help but think of the moment when her legs gave way and she collapsed to the ground.
Fei Han and Bai Jing are all conscious of protecting Yu Wanwan, keeping her away from bloody and terrifying things. They protect her innocence and beauty. But Wang Ye is different. He doesn't know how to cherish women at all. He only knows how to quickly eliminate his opponents in order to minimize the damage he suffers.
Wangye asked her, "Wanwan, were you frightened?"
"What?" Yu Wanwan lifted her face off her knees.
"It's Nana."
His words immediately stirred up Yu Wanwan's memories again. People she knew were being torn apart by wild beasts in front of her. Thinking of this, Yu Wanwan's face turned even paler, and her eyes looked at Wang Ye with a hint of fear.
"I'm... I'm alright."
Wang Ye twitched his lips: "That's how the Beastman Continent is, full of bloodshed and brutality. Some people are killed because they are too weak, and some starve to death because they are too weak. Although females don't have to go to the battlefield or hunt, females who are too weak will be eliminated by the rules of survival and die early."
Yu Wanwan responded sullenly.
Of course she knew that the Beastman Continent was different. Modern society was peaceful and stable, but when the Beastmen fought, they fought to the death, not stopping until they killed their opponent.
She'd never been in a fight in her entire life, yet just now, she killed someone with her own hands...
Thinking of the incredulous look in the beast's eyes before it died, Yu Wanwan subconsciously looked at her hands. They were clean and white, but Yu Wanwan felt that they were covered with sticky blood.
She bit her lip, her hands trembling uncontrollably.
Wang Ye smiled.
He looked down on the weak, especially beastmen like Yu Wanwan who were so weak they would pant after just a few steps. But because she was female, he would make an exception for her this time.
“For a female like you, the best thing to do is to attach yourself to a strong male and stay at home obediently. If you are in danger, you may not survive more than three days, and you may even endanger others.”
Yu Wanwan didn't respond to him this time; she was already feeling inferior because of Wang Ye's words.
She knew that her physique was no match for those of the orcs.
So when Fei Han told her to leave, although she was worried, she still left with Wang Ye.
She has always tried her best not to become a burden to them. Even if she can't avoid encountering danger, at least she shouldn't be the one who can't help but hold them back.
Seeing that the little female was well-behaved and didn't argue with him, Wangye raised an eyebrow.
She really has no temper. She didn't get angry even after being told that. He thought every female was proud and arrogant and couldn't stand being questioned.
At this moment, Yu Wanwan was completely worried about Fei Han. Through the bond between partners, she sensed that Fei Han's life force seemed to have weakened a lot. He must be injured!
Yu Wanwan looked around at the desolate surroundings and asked, "Wangye, how should we get back? Do you know the way around here?"
When she went to fetch water, Wangye knew exactly where the water was; he must have been here before.
Yu Wanwan was right. Wang Ye had indeed been here. To others, this cliff seemed bottomless, but there was actually a glimmer of hope. He used to come down here alone often; otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to jump off the cliff with Yu Wanwan.
"There is no other way out; the only way out is to climb up."
Yu Wanwan looked up in the direction he was pointing. The cliff was very high. Although it wasn't vertical or steep, it would still take some effort to climb it.
Understanding her concerns, Wangye said, "Don't worry, I used to come here often, always going up and down the cliff. After I rest for a couple of days, I can take you up right away."
