Chapter 174 The Annoying Guy

Outside the Beast City, Bai Jing, who was constantly on his way, felt his partner's heartbeat suddenly stop through their bond. He frowned and a deep worry appeared in his eyes.

Upon seeing this, Shunfeng, who had already joined them, stepped forward and asked, "Clan leader, what's wrong?"

Bai Jing shook his head and ordered in a deep voice, "Tell the people to speed up. We need to get to Beast City within two days!"

"yes!"

Wangye carefully carried Yu Wanwan into the cave, letting her lean against him. After a while, Yu Wanwan said in a daze, "Wangye, run! There are... there are wild animals in the cave..."

Unexpectedly, even though the little female was so frightened, she was still thinking of him. Wang Ye felt a deep sense of guilt and whispered to comfort her, "There are no wild beasts. Wanwan, it's me. Don't be afraid."

"It's you?" Yu Wanwan straightened up from his embrace and looked at him in disbelief.

"It's me. I just wanted to tease you. Don't be scared."

Yu Wanwan snapped out of her daze, a belated panic and fear welling up inside her, and tears uncontrollably streamed down her cheeks: "Why...why did you scare me?"

"It's all my fault, don't cry."

Wang Ye was surprised that Yu Wanwan would cry so easily. If she were like other females, she would cry loudly, but instead, her face was pale, and she stared at him with her big eyes, tears streaming down her face. She looked weak and pitiful, and this silent crying made his heart ache. He wished he could beat himself up just now.

Now look what's happened, they've made someone cry, and there's no way to salvage the situation.

"Wanwan, it's all my fault, hit me if you want." Wangye tried to wipe her tears, but the more he wiped, the more tears she cried, and he couldn't stop them.

Yu Wanwan sniffed, forcefully slapped his hand away, and said fiercely, "Don't touch me! I hate you so much!"

Her words had a thick nasal tone, sounding cute and fierce, but to Wang Ye, they felt like they had struck his heart, almost shattering it.

Wang Ye quickly tried to appease her, saying, "Okay, okay, it's all my fault. I won't touch you. Don't cry."

Yu Wanwan ignored him, turned her back, and vigorously wiped away her tears.

Her hands were all wet from wiping, so Yu Wanwan had no choice but to lift up a corner of her skirt, not caring about hygiene, as long as she could wipe away her tears.

She didn't want to cry in front of this annoying guy; it was too embarrassing!

She rubbed very hard until her face was bright red before she stopped.

Wangye gently poked her shoulder with his finger and asked, "Wanwan, are you alright?"

Yu Wanwan shrugged, determined not to turn around.

Wangye moved closer to her and said, "Don't be angry. I didn't mean to."

Yu Wanwan snorted.

Wangye scratched his face, looking like he had a deep grudge.

If I had known, he wouldn't have scared me. If I had known, he would have prepared some gifts to apologize. If I had known, he would have learned how to make females happy. Why didn't he do any of these things?

Countless thoughts of "if only I had known" flashed through Wang Ye's mind, but hindsight is always 20/20, so he could only grit his teeth and continue to coax her.

"Wanwan, why don't you hit me? It's all my fault."

Wang Ye sat down in front of Yu Wanwan, grabbed her hand, and slapped it on her face.

He was incredibly strong, and Yu Wanwan couldn't break free at all. She angrily said, "Let me go!"

She slapped him three times in a row. Yu Wanwan's hands were so soft that they didn't hurt his face at all. Instead, the places she touched brought waves of numbness. This strange feeling extended to his limbs and bones, and then turned into an inexplicable heat.

"Let go of me, it hurts." Yu Wanwan had already stopped crying, but after he hit her like that, her palm hurt terribly, and tears welled up in her eyes again.

Hearing Yu Wanwan say that, Wang Ye looked down and realized that his originally fair palms had turned bright red. He was the one who hit her, but in the end, it was Yu Wanwan who was in pain.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know I would hurt you." Wang Ye was very annoyed. Yu Wanwan had already pulled her hand back forcefully and hid both hands behind her back.

Instead of appeasing the person, he hurt them even more, leaving Wangye even more at a loss.

He thought for a moment, then suddenly lowered his body.

By this time, Yu Wanwan had somewhat adapted to the darkness and could vaguely see his movements.

He lowered his head, then knelt on one knee, placing his left fist on the ground: "Wanwan, it's all my fault. To make it up to you, I've decided to jump from here. I hope you can forgive me."

After he finished speaking, he walked towards the cave entrance.

Yu Wanwan was startled and couldn't let him actually jump down. She quickly grabbed his hand tightly and looked at him angrily: "Why are you jumping down?"

"I did it to make amends for my mistake."

"Does jumping down make up for what I did?" Yu Wanwan couldn't accept this self-harming way of making amends at all.

"But I really don't know what to do." As a straight man, Wang Ye could only think of this way to appease Yu Wanwan.

Yu Wanwan was amused by his nonsensical behavior. She said helplessly, "If you jump down and die, won't I die here too?"

The simple-minded Wang Ye hadn't thought of this at all. He suddenly realized and his eyes widened: "Oh right, what should we do then? How about I send you up and then jump down? Will you forgive me then?"

Yu Wanwan sighed and pulled him down to sit: "Fine, I'm not angry anymore."

If people found out that the Beast King actually jumped off a cliff and died because of her, Yu Wanwan felt that she probably wouldn't live much longer either.

"Really?" Wang Ye didn't expect Yu Wanwan to be so easy to talk to, forgiving him without him even having to jump down.
