The elder felt that the education had been sufficient, and then he stopped.
He was extremely dissatisfied with Lan Yin, the mermaid king, and could only vent his anger by criticizing him.
The elder felt that he had contributed too much to the merfolk, always considering their needs. As for this merfolk king, if he weren't the younger brother of the former merfolk king, he would have locked Lan Yin up and made him a puppet king.
His hands were behind his back, his chin slightly raised, and his eyes held a hint of arrogance: "You should be alright now, right? Let's talk about the merfolk."
You still have to say it.
Lan Yin frowned slightly.
He still had to bring food to the little females.
The elder raised his chin even higher, almost pointing his nostrils at him: "Is that not allowed?"
If he listens to his long lecture and still thinks about going out to play, he'll really get angry.
Lan Yin had no choice but to compromise with the elder: "Then let's go sit in the royal palace for a while."
After all, the other party was a hardworking elder of the merfolk, who had devoted so much effort over the years and was getting old, so I should give him some respect.
The elder nodded and entered the royal palace first.
Lan Yin picked up the bundle and, taking advantage of the elder's inattention, placed it by the door, planning to go find Yu Wanwan after the event was over.
The elder sat down at the table, and Lan Yin sat opposite him.
"Your Majesty, have you decided when we should attack the Bloodthirsty Beast Clan? Now is the best time." The elder had urged Lan Yin on this matter many times, but each time he was suppressed. This time, Lan Yin stopped him as always: "This matter is not urgent. The clansmen should rest for a while."
"Take a break, that's always your excuse. Do you still intend to strengthen the merfolk?"
The elder spoke urgently, as if he wished he could rush ashore right now and wreak havoc on all sides.
Lan Yin tried to calm him down.
If possible, he really hoped that the elders could carefully consider the current situation of the merfolk and not be so hasty. Attacking the Bloodthirsty Beast Clan now would be a Pyrrhic victory.
He had tried to persuade the elder hundreds of times, but the elder was very stubborn and wouldn't listen to him at all. Lan Yin had no choice but to say, "Don't worry, I'm already making arrangements for this."
The elder pressed further, "How long do you plan to take?"
"It should be soon," Lan Yin gave a vague timeframe.
However, the plan is not to attack the hot-blooded beastmen, but to wait until the little female has fully adapted to the underwater environment, and then arrange for her to come to the palace so that everyone knows that the hot-blooded beastmen and the cold-blooded beastmen can get along well and that they can cease hostilities.
"In that case, you should hurry up."
The elder pressed him hard, and this time Lan Yin finally relented. He decided to give him some time and then changed the subject.
The elder pulled out a strand of shark silk from his robes and said, "This is what happened at the edge of the ocean these past few days. There are always some hot-blooded beastmen acting suspiciously, and we don't know what they're up to."
Lan Yin took it, glanced at it briefly, and then said, "I know all of that."
He had already seen what happened to the Bloodthirsty Beastmen at the edge of the ocean a few days ago, and had already instructed the guard captain to send people to drive them away.
The elder asked, "How did you handle it?"
Lan Yin told him the truth.
After listening, the elder strongly disagreed: "How can this be? Just drive them away? You should arrest them and kill them!"
Lan Yin said, "Although it is said to be the edge of the ocean, they are actually still on land, in the territory of the Hot-Blooded Beast Clan."
"Who knows what their intentions are!" the elder slammed his fist on the table. "They've already come to your gates! What if they attack us?"
Lan Yin rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on: "Elder, they didn't even step into the sea. Besides, we live on the seabed, so they have no way to avoid the seawater. How could they possibly attack us?"
"As the Mermaid King, you must not only plan ahead, but also establish your authority. Don't think that just because you've become a leader you can do nothing. You should lead your team out now, kill those hot-blooded beastmen at the edge of the ocean, and hang them on trees to show that the Mermaids are inviolable."
Lan Yin closed her eyes, looking utterly exhausted.
Every time I talk to the elder, it's suffocating. He always tries to order me around by doing things his own way. Even if I manage to calm down his first wave of anger, he'll soon have a second wave waiting for me.
Are you going or not?
Lan Yin didn't speak, but her face showed some resistance.
The elders understood his meaning; Lan Yin was always like this, so soft-hearted, lacking any of the ruthlessness expected of a king.
He said, "If you're not going, then have the head guard arrange a team, and I'll personally deal with that group of cold-blooded beastmen."
No matter what he said, he was determined to uphold the dignity and territory of the merfolk and would never allow them to be offended by the hot-blooded beastmen.
As the elder walked out, Lan Yin hurriedly said, "Wait, you don't need to trouble yourself with this matter. I will go myself."
If the elders go, those hot-blooded beastmen will surely die, and the relationship between the two races will deteriorate again.
The elder raised an eyebrow, still somewhat incredulous: "Really? You'll kill that group of hot-blooded beastmen?"
Lan Yin changed her answer: "I will protect the territory of the merfolk and will not tolerate its invasion."
Although he didn't say it explicitly, his expression was solemn, and the elder assumed he was going to do as he was told, so he finally nodded in satisfaction.
"Okay, then go now, I'll go and call the head guard over."
