Chapter 244 The Annoying Elder

Lan Yin didn't ask a second time. The guard captain understood his meaning, and the harpoon moved even closer, pressing against the neck of a hot-blooded orc.

A small trickle of blood flowed out, and the hot-blooded orc felt pain in his neck, turning pale.

"No, don't kill me."

"I'm asking you a question! What are you doing here?"

The head guard was far more terrifying than Lan Yin; his eyebrows were raised, and he looked fierce and menacing.

The guard captain felt that his king was really too powerful, capturing so many people in one move, unlike himself, who always let them escape. This was simply a disgrace to his career!

The harpoon moved even closer, his expression becoming more ferocious, as if he intended to capture them and torture them severely.

Although he's acting a bit like a bully now, I have to say, it feels really good to have someone captured!

He had to be even more ruthless and get back all the face he'd lost these past few days!

The hot-blooded beastmen were indeed terrified and couldn't utter a single word.

But this was not the effect Lan Yin wanted. He said, "As long as you tell me what you were doing at the beach, I will let you go."

The head guard covered his mouth with one hand, leaned close to Lan Yin, and whispered, "Your Majesty, are you trying to trick them? You could have just told me. I would have tried to trick you. You are, after all, the Mermaid King. Even though it's to deal with the Hot-Blooded Beast Clan, isn't it bad to go back on your word?"

Lan Yin pushed his face away and looked seriously into his eyes: "Do I look like I'm lying to you?"

Guard Captain: "Although you're being quite serious... these are hot-blooded beastmen."

Lan Yin did not answer, but quietly looked at the hot-blooded beastmen huddled together.

Despite their fear, they did not reveal the true purpose of their visit.

Lan Yin narrowed his eyes slightly, and after a moment's thought, a cunning smile appeared on his lips that didn't match his pure appearance. He casually pointed at a hot-blooded beastman: "You can leave now."

The hot-blooded beastman couldn't believe it; his first thought was that the merfolk might be plotting something.

However, Lan Yin made a quick decision. He waved his hand, and two merfolk immediately stepped forward, forcibly pulled up the hot-blooded beastman, and dragged him toward the forest.

After the merfolk abandoned him, they left without looking back. The hot-blooded beastman was stunned for a long time before transforming into his beast form and fleeing for his life.

The remaining two companions watched him leave with envy. Lan Yin continued, "You saw it, I mean what I say. Now only one of you can leave. Whoever tells me why you came here, I'll let him go. As for the other one..."

He didn't say it explicitly, but everyone knew that the remaining one would not have a good ending.

The two hot-blooded beastmen looked at each other, and one of them gritted his teeth and immediately said, "I'll talk, I'll talk! Our prince sent us. He said his mate was captured by the merfolk!"

Seeing that he had already spoken, the other hot-blooded beastman decided to go all out. He didn't want to be the only one to die when everyone was captured together; he hadn't even found a mate yet, and he didn't want to die!

He pushed his companion aside and said urgently, "I also know that the prince wants us to find a way to enter the seabed and then bring the female back!"

Female? Could it be Wanwan?

Lan Yin immediately thought of the little female.

The guard captain recalled that the only ones who had come to the seabed recently were the females from the Black Chicken Tribe, but they had already left the seabed. Only one female had not returned safely, but so many days had passed that the guard captain assumed she had died at the seabed long ago.

Could that female be someone of such great importance, the mate of a beastman prince?! The royal family has died at the bottom of the sea; this is likely to be a very troublesome matter!

The head guard looked at Lan Yin, giving him a look that indicated what he should do next.

Lan Yin remained calm and composed, saying, "No hot-blooded beastmen can enter the seabed. Tell your prince that your females are not with us, and that he should never come to the seaside again."

"Yes, yes." The hot-blooded beastman readily agreed, and tried to run away as he stood up, but Lan Yin thought of something and said, "Wait."

The hot-blooded beastmen were not about to stop. Hearing his voice, they ran even faster. The merfolk surrounding them brandished their harpoons, finally managing to stop them again.

The harpoon drew even closer, and the two hot-blooded beastmen embraced each other, weeping bitterly. They shouldn't have believed the cold-blooded beastman's words; now they had not only revealed their secret but were also going to lose their lives!

The captain of the guards looked at their trembling legs and laughed, "Your Majesty, they're terrified." These hot-blooded beastmen are really useless; they're scared like this.

Lan Yin didn't say anything.

These two were just ordinary beast soldiers. It's normal for them to be afraid when surrounded by so many of their own enemies with weapons.

He pointed to the beastman who had spoken first: "You can leave." Then he pointed to the one who spoke later: "You, come with me."

......

The captain of the guard, accompanied by a group of merfolk, was soaking in the seawater, the sunlight shining on his tail, making it shimmer.

He yawned at the sky, then turned to the merman beside him and asked, "How long has the King been gone?"

The mermaid gave a vague timeframe: "It seems like it's been quite a while."

The head guard retorted angrily, "What you've said is as good as saying nothing at all!"

Another mermaid said, "I know, the sun was in its zenith when the king left, and it's almost setting now."

Just a few hours ago, Lan Yin led that hot-blooded beastman towards the forest. The guard captain didn't know what he was going to do, but the king had said that no one was allowed to approach without his order.
