Yu Wanwan was stunned for a moment, not expecting him to suddenly say this.
"Lan Yin..."
She didn't know how to answer.
No matter how much she denies it, that was her original purpose in coming to the seabed.
Lan Yin held her tightly, wishing she could meld her into her body, but her expression grew increasingly calm: "But I can't let you succeed. If you really kill me, you won't be able to leave the seabed."
Lan Yin dared not imagine how the little female would be treated at that time.
"I'm sorry." Holding him, Yu Wanwan didn't know what else to say.
"Wanwan, I've always been passively doing things all my life. I've been passively placed on the throne and passively started wars. I'm also afraid of seeing the hateful eyes of those hot-blooded beastmen, but I succumb to oppression, afraid to resist and afraid to refuse."
"I didn't dare before."
"But now, I want to do things that make you happy; you are my courage."
As soon as he finished speaking, Yu Wanwan felt something being shoved into her hand, and the next second her body was uncontrollably pushed away.
She looked back and saw that many blue-tailed fish were carrying her towards the surface of the sea, while Lan Yin's hands were making strange gestures.
Yu Wanwan recognized it; it was used to summon bluetail fish.
Seeing the female run away, the elder became even angrier. Pointing at Lan Yin, he cursed her mercilessly: "Lan Yin, you're still protecting her! How can you face us like this?!"
He was so angry that he stopped calling himself king, but no mermaid would say anything now, because at this moment, their respected mermaid king had stood against them all.
Lan Yin ignored him; in fact, he didn't have time to pay attention to him right now.
Yu Wanwan was carried by the blue-tailed fish and quickly ran towards the sea, while Lan Yin followed behind to cover her retreat.
He could not harm his own kind, so he could only continuously condense the water flow into walls of water to block the pursuers.
But how could he possibly handle so many mermaids by himself? The water wall kept breaking, and the mermaids kept catching up.
At this moment, the elder was completely in a state of mania and madness. His eyes were only on Yu Wanwan, and he would not give up until he caught her.
Seeing that she was running further and further away, the elder grabbed a harpoon and used his ancestral power to make the water carry the harpoon towards Yu Wanwan.
Yu Wanwan was being carried by the blue-tailed fish and had no way to resist. Just as the harpoon was about to pierce her, Lan Yin accelerated, and the harpoon cut her arm, causing blood to spread in the seawater.
The head guard in the merfolk saw this and shouted, but the next second, he was grabbed by the elders and pinned down.
Lan Yin grunted and continued to protect Yu Wanwan as they charged upwards, but his ancestral power eventually ran out, and in the end, he couldn't use any more of it.
Seeing that the mermaids were about to catch up, Yu Wanwan realized that she couldn't leave today and said in despair, "Lanyin, don't worry about me."
Lan Yin did not answer, but simply frowned and swam quickly without saying a word.
Yu Wanwan saw that his face had turned pale, and the blood oozing from the wound on his arm looked like a long red ribbon, tightly binding him.
Yu Wanwan's eyes stung with tears. She reached out to grab Lan Yin, but couldn't reach him no matter what she did: "Lan Yin, go back and tell your people that I lied to you."
If all the blame is placed on her, Lanyin might be fine.
Lan Yin opened her mouth, but what came out was something Yu Wanwan didn't want to hear at all: "Wanwan, I know you don't want a war, and I want to do this for you..."
“As long as the elders kill me in front of their people, they will overthrow the elders. Without the elders advocating for war, there will be no more war between the cold and hot tribes.”
He had barely finished speaking when he swam up with all his might, blocking Yu Wanwan's path.
Before she could react, a harpoon pierced his chest, its tip bursting Yu Wanwan's bubble.
This was a harpoon thrown by the elder, originally intended for Yu Wanwan. However, he never expected that Lanyin would rush to the front to protect Yu Wanwan.
Seeing the harpoon pierce through Lan Yin's body, the pursuing mermaids panicked and were terrified. A large number of them stopped and dared not go any further.
Although the Mermaid King was helping the female members of the Bloodthirsty Beast Clan, he was still their king, and no one dared to truly kill him.
The elder's audacity is a bit too much.
This hesitation gave Yu Wanwan and Lan Yin some time to escape.
But a wave of sadness and suffocation washed over her, and Yu Wanwan felt completely drained, limply being carried upstream by Lan Yin.
The harpoons of the mermaids have barbs, and if you pull them out, you'll only end up with flesh and blood.
Lan Yin endured the pain, gritted her teeth, and broke the harpoon. The harpoon fell due to gravity, and the remaining piece got stuck in her body.
Lan Yin wanted to blow another bubble for Yu Wanwan, but she was pierced by the harpoon and couldn't blow any more. With no other option, she had to swim upwards even faster with Yu Wanwan.
Lan Yin felt like he was suffocating from the pain. The broken piece of the harpoon was stuck in his body, and with each swing of the tail, it kept drilling into his lungs and internal organs, piercing through his entire body.
But Lan Yin knew she couldn't stop; if she did, the little female would get hurt.
Yu Wanwan held her breath, gripping Lan Yin's arm tightly, while her other hand covered his chest to prevent more blood from flowing out.
Lan Yin's blood was also cold; if you didn't look at it with your eyes, it would feel no different from ordinary seawater.
But Yu Wanwan knew that this was different from seawater, and if the blood continued to flow, Lan Yin would definitely die here.
