Chapter 287 Man-Made Disaster

This natural disaster brought indelible damage to the entire orc continent. Countless orcs lost their lives in this disaster, trees and flowers were scorched, exposing the blackened earth, and animals fled or ran away. There was almost no trace of their lives in the mountains and forests.

Ze Wu tore the shark silk into thin ribbons and carefully wrapped them around Yu Wanwan's injured area.

He said with concern, "This should be fine. Just don't go out and wander around lately."

Yu Wanwan pouted and retorted unhappily, "I didn't go out to play."

Aside from dancing, she rarely went out. Even when she did go out, it was with Zewu. Now that she was injured and had become a broken flower, the golden light would no longer come to ask her to dance, and she could stay indoors all the time.

Zewu touched her petals, picked up the dew, and poured it on Yu Wanwan's roots.

As they gradually became more familiar with each other, Zewu became much gentler. Before, he wanted to drench her thoroughly, but now he can take good care of her.

Although her saving the clan leader played a significant role in this, Yu Wanwan was still very satisfied with the current situation.

But speaking of the clan leader...

Yu Wanwan glanced at Ze Wu discreetly.

She dared not tell him where she had found the clan chief.

At that time, the chieftain was trapped under a tree by himself. It was a place where the orcs lived, but there wasn't a single orc around.

Given the chieftain's personality, Yu Wanwan couldn't help but wonder if, during the natural disaster, the chieftain had gone to the orcs' dwelling to evacuate them, and had accidentally been trapped, but not a single orc had come to his rescue.

If Zewu finds out, given how important the clan leader is to him, this matter will definitely get out of control.

The post-war recovery lasted a long time, and both orcs and plant people struggled to survive.

The batch of spirit flowers planted back then were all burned before they even sprouted. Even the mature spirit flowers were damaged in many ways. If the Dark Breath comes again, the remaining spirit flowers will definitely not be enough.

Therefore, Zewu has been arranging for people to continue a new round of planting in the past few days.

As evening fell, Yu Wanwan sat on his shoulders, and the two went home together.

A strange sound suddenly came from the bushes not far away, like something tearing apart, accompanied by a crackling sound.

The grass rustled, and Yu Wanwan shuddered inexplicably. She moved closer to Ze Wu, a little scared, and asked, "Ze Wu, what's going on over there?"

Ze Wu was also confused, but as the next chieftain, he had a duty to protect the tribe. He took Yu Wanwan off his clothes and tucked her inside to protect her. His tone remained calm and unchanged: "Let's go take a look."

Ze Wu walked slowly over, trying to keep his steps light. When he stood in front of the grass, he suddenly reached out and parted the grass, revealing the scene inside.

Several orcs surrounded one orc.

The orc lay on the ground, his animal skin skirt tossed aside, blood seeping beneath him, his abdomen a bloody mess, the bones and mangled internal organs barely visible.

The orcs surrounding him were also covered in blood, holding raw meat in their hands and putting it into their mouths.

They were actually eating orcs!

This realization made Yu Wanwan's stomach churn. She felt dizzy and lightheaded. If she weren't in a vegetative state, she would have gotten goosebumps all over her body.

Everything was dark. Upon seeing this, Zewu quickly covered Yu Wanwan's face. Although he was a step too late, it still offered her some comfort.

The beastmen were also panicked and frightened when they saw them.

They were so hungry that they conspired to drag their weakest-looking companion into the bushes to fill their stomachs. But they were discovered as soon as they started eating!

Ze Wu coldly awaited them, then sternly rebuked, "What are you doing? This is your companion! He is also a beastman, not an animal!"

The orcs looked at each other in bewilderment. One of the tall and strong orcs stepped forward to defend himself: "He... he has been dead for a long time. We ate his corpse in order to survive."

Ze Wu scoffed, "Do you think I'm stupid? Can't you even tell if someone is dead or alive when they die?"

This orc looks like he's only been dead for a short time.

The orc choked, pursed his lips, and looked nervously at his companion.

They exchanged a glance, already understanding each other perfectly, and suddenly transformed into beast forms, pouncing towards Zewu.

Ze Wu quickly backed away. Yu Wanwan, who was being held by him, didn't know what was happening and crashed hard into his hard chest, making her dizzy.

Ze Wu stretched out his left hand, and a ball of green light emerged from his palm. Soon, countless vines broke through the soil and, as if they were alive, tightly entangled the group of orcs.

The beastmen fell to the ground, howling in pain as they were strangled.

They never expected that this tall, thin young man in a vegetative state would be so strong, managing to subdue them all in less than a minute.

"We were wrong, please let us go!"

The orcs were filled with remorse. They should have admitted their mistake earlier and hadn't attacked just because there were fewer of them!

Ze Wu said with a stern face, "You people are simply the scum of the beastmen. People like you don't deserve to stay in the tribe or receive the protection of the Beast God."

Zewu was taught from a young age to protect beastmen, but he simply couldn't bring himself to protect these few people.

He manipulated the vines and threw them into a forest outside the tribe.

This forest is shrouded in mist year-round; once you enter, you'll never come out. There are almost no animals here now, and if they go in, their final fate will definitely be to starve to death.
