Chief Qiu Chen is always like this; he only cares about others and never about his own people. He also bears an inescapable responsibility for the demise of the plant tribe.
Yu Wanwan pursed her lips and handed the badge to him: "He asked me to tell you that you must live well and protect yourself. He feels guilty towards the tribe and hopes you won't blame him."
"Did he really say that?" Zewu asked, somewhat incredulous.
Yu Wanwan took a deep breath, silently apologized in her heart, and then nodded emphatically: "What do you think? Chief Qiu Chen cares about you and the vegetative people. Don't use your own ideas to speculate about the person who raised you."
Sometimes, gentleness is more effective at moving a person than coldness.
Hearing her words, Zewu closed his eyes, his face full of pain.
Yu Wanwan slowly approached him: "Zewu, Clan Chief Qiuchen has high hopes for you. If he were standing here now, he certainly wouldn't want you to end up like this."
"I don't need you to tell me!" A fleeting moment of panic crossed Ze Wu's face as he turned fierce, snatching the badge and clutching it tightly in his hand.
"Ze Wu..." Yu Wanwan wanted to persuade him, but Ze Wu suddenly reached out and pinched Yu Wanwan's head: "You want to save those beastmen?"
Yu Wanwan nodded.
“Alright.” Ze Wu curled the corners of his mouth: “Then you can exchange your life for it. I will take away the hatred. Now go back and pray, and plant all the spirit flowers within a month.”
Yu Wanwan opened her mouth, but suddenly felt a pain in her stomach. It was because the cub moved inside.
She instinctively placed her hand on her stomach.
Ze Wu put her down, his face full of mockery: "What's wrong, afraid of dying?"
Yu Wanwan looked up at him: "If I am willing to pray, would you also be willing to use your greatest divine power to protect this continent while the beastmen are praying?"
Zewu stared at her intently, but she showed no sign of backing down.
He suddenly turned his face away from her: "Anyone can talk big, you should grow the spirit flower first."
After returning home, Yu Wanwan thought about it for a long time and decided to try planting the spirit flower. However, when she closed her eyes to pray, the image of the death of the plant people still appeared.
She sighed; it turned out that Zewu still hadn't shaken off his hatred.
Orcs don't have long pregnancies, and Yu Wanwan's belly quickly grew as big as an inflating balloon. Sometimes, when she placed her hand on her belly, she could feel movement inside.
This made Yu Wanwan even more hesitant to pray; she couldn't bear to part with this little life she hadn't even seen once.
It was so obedient; although it was growing, it never caused her any adverse reactions such as morning sickness.
The escape continued as they headed towards Dragon Island, passing through many tribes destroyed by the Dark Breath. The once peaceful and tranquil tribes looked as if they had been crushed, with countless severed limbs and remains on the ground. Yu Wanwan saw a head lying on the ground with its eyes wide open, as if it had died with its eyes open in disbelief.
Yu Wanwan was so frightened that she took a step back. The baby in her belly seemed to sense its mother's emotions and began to move restlessly.
Qinglu put his arm around Yu Wanwan's waist, carefully pulling her into his embrace and blocking her view of the bloody scene.
When Yu Wanwan closed her eyes to rest at night, the head kept appearing before her eyes. She even saw the head with its mouth open, constantly shouting "Wanwan, save me! Wanwan, save me!" and telling her to quickly go and pray to save people.
Yu Wanwan woke up with a start. Qinglu, who was sleeping soundly with her in her arms, also woke up immediately and looked at her with concern: "Wanwan, what's wrong?"
Yu Wanwan pressed her wildly beating heart and forced a smile: "It's nothing, I just had a nightmare."
Qinglu hugged her and gently patted her back: "It's okay, it was just a dream, I'm here."
Yu Wanwan nodded, gripped his clothes tightly, and closed her eyes again.
The next day, unsurprisingly, she had dark circles under her eyes. Qinglu prepared to cook her some comforting soup and went out to work early in the morning.
Yu Wanwan's gaze fell on the spirit flower placed to the side, and she touched her belly.
She had experienced too many life-and-death separations during this period. She was constantly on the run, Wang Ye left forever to save her, and Bai Jing and the others were on the front line and had no news of them at all.
Countless orcs have died because of the Dark Breath, and now all hope seems to rest on her shoulders.
This was the last resort, Yu Wanwan clenched her fists.
I'm so sorry, baby.
Let's try again. If she tries hard, she might be able to resist Zewu's hatred. As long as she succeeds in praying, she can grow the spirit flower.
Yu Wanwan gently touched her belly, clasped her hands together in front of her forehead, and closed her eyes to pray.
"I hope the Beast God will protect the Beastman continent, let Dark Breath leave, stop the war, and prevent any more Beastmen from dying."
She prayed again and again, her expression devout. Whether it was because she was focused enough this time or something else, those tragic scenes did not reappear. When she successfully completed her prayer and opened her eyes, the wilted spirit flower seedlings in front of her seemed to have regained their vitality and began to stretch their leaves in the sunlight.
It actually worked!
Yu Wanwan was excited, but before she could be happy for long, her vision suddenly went black when she stood up. Luckily, she grabbed the wall in time to avoid falling.
It turns out the God of Time was right; her current body really isn't suited for prayer.
Yu Wanwan touched her belly, staring intently at the spiritual flowers, her expression complex and conflicted.
That night, Yu Wanwan decided to pray again. As soon as she closed her eyes, a commotion came from outside the cave.
