Chapter Forty-One Lost

Suppressing her fear, Yu Wanwan slowly reached out and groped around on the ground.

Her fingertips touched something that looked like hair, which startled her so much that she quickly withdrew her hand and changed direction to continue crawling forward.

Perhaps because she was too nervous, and because it was pitch black all around, Yu Wanwan once again lost her footing and fell backward with a whoosh.

This time it wasn't just a collision; Yu Wanwan felt like she was sitting on a bear, and she could even feel the slight up-and-down movement beneath her.

Oh no, I'm doomed! I'm not going to die this time!

Yu Wanwan resignedly closed her eyes, waiting for Da Xiong to wake up, then throw her to the ground, grab one of her legs and slam her against the wall.

Cold sweat poured down her face, and Yu Wanwan's body trembled uncontrollably.

After waiting for a long time, Yu Wanwan still hadn't gotten rid of the bear.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

One bump won't wake it up, two falls won't wake it up, do hibernating bears all sleep this soundly?

But now is not the time to think about these things!

Having survived another ordeal, Yu Wanwan started moving again, cautiously crawling towards the ground.

This time she was even more serious, focusing all her energy on escaping.

As she got further and further away from the bear, Yu Wanwan's heart pounded faster and faster. She took a deep breath carefully to suppress her excitement.

She was so excited that when she finally managed to stand up and run away after crawling a distance, she couldn't help but cry out in surprise.

After running for a while, Yu Wanwan felt that there was no danger and that she could no longer run. So she leaned against a tree and slowly slid to the ground.

Her back was soaked with cold sweat. Yu Wanwan gasped for breath, patting her chest repeatedly to reassure herself, "It's alright, it's alright now."

Her throat was dry, and there was a faint smell of blood from running for so long.

Silence returned to the surroundings; there were no more inexplicable screams, and the wind and snow stopped, leaving only the sound of her breathing.

It was as if a string in her mind snapped. Feeling isolated and helpless, Yu Wanwan felt a pang of bitterness and grievance. Tears fell silently like beads from a broken string, merging into the snow and creating small craters.

Yu Wanwan cried silently for a long time before finally wiping away her tears with a pitiful expression.

It was already past midnight, and Yu Wanwan had no more energy to run. She pulled her cloak tighter, curled up on the ground, and fell asleep without realizing it.

......

The White Tiger tribe is in complete chaos today.

Everyone went out happily, waiting for the females to come back from playing. But after only half a day, Bi Quan, the little female in charge of Bai Jing, stumbled back alone.

The crowd was puzzled.

When Bai Jing saw him return alone, a bad feeling welled up in his heart.

He put down the stone table he was moving and walked towards the direction of Biquan.

Without Bai Jing's help, the other orc who was moving the stone table with him also couldn't hold the heavy stone table, and with a thud, it almost hit his foot.

Bai Jing grabbed Bi Quan's shoulder and asked sternly, "Where's Wanwan! Why are you the only one who came back!"

Bi Quan was in pain from his grip, and she grimaced, saying, "I...I don't know either!"

"How could you not know! Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on Wanwan!"

Bai Jing's eyes were bloodshot, and his overwhelming anger was about to engulf Bi Quan. The hand that was originally holding Bi Quan's shoulder had somehow moved to his neck, choking Bi Quan until his face turned red.

Bi Quan's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively struggled, but Bai Jing held her gaze firmly, preventing her from moving. She stammered, "I really don't know! She disappeared as soon as I turned around."

He Yin and Shun Feng followed the sound and saw Bi Quan being held in Bai Jing's hand like a lump of mud, almost losing his mind.

They rushed over, one pulling Bai Jing up and the other supporting Bi Quan.

Shunfeng shouted, "Baijing, calm down! Let Biquan finish speaking first!"

He Yin also advised, "That's right, Bai Jing, how can you know Wanwan's situation like this!"

Hearing Wanwan's name, Bai Jing finally came to his senses a little. He released Bi Quan's neck and grabbed his arm instead, coldly snorting, "What exactly happened!"

Bi Quan was exhausted. He leaned on He Yin and coughed incessantly. It took him a long time to recover from Bai Jing's murderous gaze.

His eyes darted around, and he stammered, "I...it was her. She told me she needed to relieve herself, so I put her down. Who knew she'd disappear in the blink of an eye..."

Bai Jing gripped Bi Quan's arm tighter and tighter: "How could you lose anything just because you're going to relieve yourself!"

Bi Quan had a sudden inspiration and shifted all the blame onto Yu Wanwan: "She said she was afraid I would peek and insisted that I go far away, otherwise she would cry and make a scene. I was afraid that she would make a scene for too long and fall behind the group, so I had to go a little further away. It really has nothing to do with me!"

"Impossible!" Bai Jing was almost immediately certain that Bi Quan was lying.

Wanwan is always obedient. I had already told her to stay close to Biquan. How could she possibly cry and make a fuss to make Biquan go far away? Besides, Wanwan didn't drink that much water in the morning. According to Wanwan's habits, it wasn't time for her to go to the toilet. Even if what Biquan said was true, it was only a short time for her to go to the toilet. How could she not find anyone?

Unless... unless Bi Quan didn't go looking for Wan Wan at all, or even deliberately let Wan Wan get lost.

Thinking of this, Bai Jing's eyes flashed with rage and murderous intent. He grabbed Bi Quan's neck again, this time with real force, wanting to strangle him to death!
