Chapter Seven: The Power of Atavism



She really didn't want to eat barbecue anymore; she missed all kinds of modern cuisine!

Tears welled up in Yu Wanwan's heart as two strands of noodles rolled down her cheeks. The huge moon hanging in the sky only intensified her homesickness.

When Bai Jing finished tidying up the room and came out, he saw Yu Wanwan staring at the moon without moving. He felt strange and squatted down at the entrance of the cave with her.

Yu Wanwan gazed at the moon for a long time, and when she turned her head without thinking, she was almost scared to death by the silent, living person next to her.

"Bai Jing... what are you doing squatting here?"

Bai Jing smiled slightly and rubbed Yu Wanwan's head: "I don't know either, why are you squatting here?"

Why else could it be? Of course, it's because I miss home!

Yu Wanwan shook her head.

Seeing the little female's disappointed expression, Bai Jing knew she was in a bad mood and quickly changed the subject.

"I've tidied up the room a bit, would you like to come and take a look?"

Yu Wanwan nodded, but as soon as she entered the room, she was immediately surprised.

The inside had indeed been completely renovated. The grass nest had been rearranged and covered with animal hides, making it look softer and more comfortable.

The rough ground was covered with a layer of hide. Yu Wanwan went over to take a look and saw that it was the hide of the wild animal that Bai Jing had killed that day. The hide was rough and hard, and could neither be eaten nor used as clothing, but it was perfect for laying the floor.

A large square stone was placed in the corner to serve as a table, on which was a stone container filled with the dried fruit that had been baked that day. Next to the container was a bunch of fragrant flowers.

The soft moonlight streamed in through the window above the cave, making the entire cave feel tranquil and cozy.

Yu Wanwan was truly touched by Bai Jing's thoughtfulness and consideration.

Since her parents passed away, no one has ever been this kind to her.

She couldn't hold back her tears and looked up at Bai Jing.
