"A sword-unslaying stone?"
Fang Zong walked over and found four large characters written on a huge boulder.
The characters are vigorous and powerful, with rich and bold strokes, like earthworms in spring and snakes in autumn. However, upon closer inspection, Fang Zong felt that it was not quite the same as the original.
The first three characters, "解剑石" (Jiejianshi), were written in a wild and domineering style.
Fang Zong seemed to see a young man as sharp as a sword, who was successful at a young age and dared to challenge the heavens. But later, he wrote the character "head" with the same blue-black ink, and "sword-untying stone" became "sword-untying stone". It didn't look the same at all.
Moreover, the character for "head" was fragmented, haphazardly arranged, and crooked. To put it nicely, it was a graceful and elegant stroke; to put it bluntly, it looked like chicken claws or a crab walking...
"How interesting," Fang Zong muttered softly.
He smiled, ignoring the fact that he couldn't pull out the knife.
Upon seeing the words above, he understood. It was obvious that this was the gate of a powerful sect, and to maintain the sect's prestige, they had set up a restriction that prevented swords from being drawn.
Unfortunately, his Heavenly Blade Slashing the Moon doesn't require actually drawing the sword.
The slashing motion always comes from the heart.
He could shatter the scabbard at any moment and carve out a passage to Earth...
"I wonder what sect it belongs to, and what star level it is?"
After having this thought, Fang Zong had a few guesses in mind.
He heard from Yu Rong'er that there were about three sects between three thousand and ten thousand miles east of Fugui Residence.
One star, one two stars, and one three stars, evenly distributed.
This sect is probably a two-star Crimson Moon Sect or a three-star Joyful Union Sect.
The one-star one hasn't yet developed the ability to create the 'Sword-Unlocking Stone'.
"It's a three-star sect, Chenxing Valley."
Suddenly someone spoke.
Fang Zong shuddered and almost drew his sword.
He didn't feel anyone was beside him, but the other person's voice sounded as if they were speaking right next to his ear.
Suddenly, my feet felt soft and yielding, like cotton.
Fang Zong looked down and found that the white fog around him was even thicker, and the muddy ground under his feet had now turned into what looked like a vast sea.
In the azure sea, right beneath his feet, a small, narrow crack slowly opened up.
expand,
Expand it further!
The narrow slit stretched for over ten feet long and two or three feet wide, and right beneath his feet, a huge, scarlet eye opened.
His pupils were tiny, like pinpoints, as if a large eye contained countless smaller eyes, staring at him without any emotion!
"Where can one exhaust one's strength? The human heart is treacherous in countless ways."
The man spoke softly.
The large eye remained unblinking at Fang Zong's feet, as if its owner was an enormous beast that could devour Fang Zong in one gulp with just a tiny movement.
He said softly, "The most complex thing is the human heart. Therefore, there is no good, no evil, no middle ground. It's like there has never been black and white in the world. It's just a definition that people have given to themselves. So, should I just kill you, the guy who broke into the mountain gate, without asking anything?"
Fang Zong held his breath and gripped the hilt of the knife.
A little while later, it loosened again.
"Senior, if you want to kill me, why don't you just do it?"
The other person was taken aback. "I like to talk nonsense. It's boring."
"Then come out and I'll talk to you."
As soon as Fang Zong uttered those words, the large eye on the sole of his foot started flashing continuously.
Suddenly, the white mist vanished, and birdsong and the fragrance of flowers filled the air. A wide stone path led straight to a cluster of buildings that appeared faintly on the mountainside.
Fang Zong looked up and saw a figure on the sword-unslaying stone...
It was a man.
She wore a moon-white robe and moon-white boots, and her snow-white hair was haphazardly tied together with a moon-white ribbon.
The man sat on the sword-unsheathing stone, half-reclining, with one leg dangling down and a large wine gourd, about half a person's height, hanging from the toe of the other leg.
He leaned back, toes pointed high, and the thick wine cascaded down his back. His stomach seemed bottomless as he continuously gulped down the wine.
"Beautiful mountains! Beautiful waters! Excellent young people!"
"Good wine! Good wine! Excellent wine!"
Once the gourd was empty, the man kicked it to pieces, wiped his mouth, and jumped in front of Fang Zong with a loud laugh.
His eyes were blurry with drunkenness, and he squinted as he looked Fang Zong up and down.
"Good-looking, bold, and ignorant of his own limitations, just like me!"
The man asked Fang Zong, "Aren't you afraid of me?"
Fang Zong smiled and asked, "May I ask your name, senior?"
"荍蜉!"
Earthworm?
Ants are very small and insignificant insects.
The opponent is very strong, and using this name obviously suggests there's a story behind it.
Fang Zong, being quite perceptive, skipped the question about the name and asked again, "Senior, are you... a Dao-level expert?"
I guess so.
He gave a half-smile.
Above the Killing Formation is the Imperial Path. In a three-star sect, even the lowest level Imperial Path is a big figure like an elder or protector.
For an ant, it's just a matter of saying, "I guess so."
Fang Zong was unaware of the opponent's strength, and couldn't help but wonder if it was someone above the Imperial Dao level, a Dao Spirit Grand Venerable?
He couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth again.
As he just mentioned, it's the three-star sect, Shenxing Valley. As far as he knows, the strongest among three-star sects is only at the first rank of Imperial Dao.
