Chapter 173 Extra (1)

Dagui dozed off on the Eight Immortals Table in the main hall. Two days of keeping watch had exhausted the young man. Hearing some noise, he lifted his eyelids and looked outside. Seeing it was Jiang Xi, he muttered something under his breath, turned his head and fell into deep sleep again.

Jiang Xi knew that she had been going to the toilet at a fixed time and place every night recently - and it worked.

Dagui must have thought that her trip was just like any other.

Jiang Xi tiptoed around the eight-immortals table, came to the corner of the stairs, and went into the bathroom.

The car keys and map were still wrapped in layers of plastic bags, floating safely in the toilet tank.

Jiang Xi reached out and fished it out, gently opened the bag, put the key, map and a dozen or so Great Unity tickets into his pocket and walked out. When he passed the Eight Immortals Table, he glanced at Dagui.

Dagui was sleeping soundly, his snoring was rhythmic and hearty - it was obvious that he was very tired.

Jiang Xi didn't disturb him and tiptoed into the room. This time, she didn't close the door completely, leaving a crack for light to pass through. Zhong Huier leaned against the door and saw her enter. "Is it done?"

Jiang Xi lowered his voice very low, patted his trouser pocket and pointed outside the door.

Zhong Huier understood what he meant and was about to leave, but was stunned by Jiang Xi's next move.

She woke up the children in the room one by one, starting with Sun Ting and the boy, until all the children were awake, and patiently fed each of them some water.

Jiang Xi placed his index finger on his lips and whispered:

"Do you remember the game Sister Jiang played with you guys a few days ago?"

"Let's get started now."

The children's eyes sparkled in the darkness.

Jiang Xi watched them stand up obediently one by one without making any sound, and then Xiaoling led the team to line up in front of him. Xiaoling was a little older and vaguely understood what game Sister Jiang was going to play with them.

The whole process happened silently.

Sun Ting stared at Jiang Xi blankly, the words she had just said in her ear echoing in her mind - Jiang Xi said he wanted to take her out, how to get her out?

"Are you crazy? So many people?"

Zhong Huier asked through gritted teeth.

When Jiang Xi had discussed the possibility of collaborating with her, he had mentioned that he would bring some people with him. Zhong Huier had assumed that they would only take the girl surnamed Sun, and at most the humiliated little boy. They knew what was going on, so if anything went wrong along the way, they could easily cover it up.

But she never expected that Jiang Xi was so confused that she wanted to take so many children away!

Is this the Virgin Mary, a rare figure in heaven and on earth? !

Zhong Huier really wanted to split her head open to see if it was full of water.

"Trust me." Jiang Xi remained calm and did not argue with Zhong Huier. He simply stated the facts calmly: "I won't risk my life."

Zhong Huier looked at her doubtfully, but, as the high school girl said, if they missed this opportunity, they would never have another chance to escape. She had no choice but to submit.

Or perhaps it was something about Jiang Xi's aura that intimidated her.

"I'll go out and open the door first. Dagui is a sound sleeper, so be careful not to disturb anyone. In two minutes at most, you and Sun Ting need to get the children to the car. I'll cover the rear."

Jiang Xi was careful and did not give the car keys to Zhong Huier, but gave them to Sun Ting instead.

Sun Ting nervously took the key, and the boy asked worriedly, "Sister Jiang, where are you?"

After drinking the diluted worry-relieving dew, the boy looked much better. Jiang Xi patted his head soothingly and said, "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

After he finished speaking, he turned around and walked out the door.

The door of the two-story rural brick house was locked with a common copper-core lock. Jiang Xi reached inside the hairpin that had been in his trouser pocket for many days, and the copper-core lock popped open with a "click".

Dagui was lying on the table, sleeping soundly.

Zhong Huier looked at her suspiciously. Jiang Xi knew what she was muttering in her heart. As a "simple" high school girl, she really knew too much.

However, Jiang Xi had no intention of helping her solve her doubts.

After all, if she had been on the run for more than a year and had mixed up with all kinds of people, it wouldn't be surprising that she would have learned some of these sneaky skills to keep herself safe.

Zhong Huier and Sun Ting half-supported and half-helped the children as they ran out, without making any sound at all.

Just as Jiang Xi was feeling relieved, convinced that his training had paid off, Xiaoyu, the three-year-old who was walking last, tripped over the threshold. The dull sound echoed far into the still night.

——

broken.

Jiang Xi suddenly turned his head, and Dagui raised his head in a daze.

Zhong Huier covered Xiaoyu's mouth tightly, pulled her back quickly to the shadow outside the door, not daring to move.

The cool summer night breeze blew in through the half-open door. Dagui scratched the back of his head and wondered: Why do I feel a little cold?

Before he could understand what was happening, he received a heavy blow on the back of his head. Jiang Xi's cat-like face filled Dagui's entire eye socket. "Xiaoxi, you...?" Before he could finish his words, he had already lost consciousness.

Jiang Xi put down the bench in his hand and thought regretfully: There was blood after all.

Without even looking at the fallen Dagui, Jiang Xi walked out the door.

Zhong Hui'er pulled Xiaoyu down into the darkness, watching the scene unfold vividly. Her lips trembled, speechless for a moment. It would have taken a lot of ruthlessness to hit him with the bench. Jiang Xi's movements were experienced, so it seemed like this wasn't his first time. And yet, someone like him was willing to take these unrelated children with him on his escape—
