Chapter 6 Stealing

The infighting among the beggars today was instigated by Jiang Xi.

The most vulnerable time for men in this world is on the bed.

Especially when sharing a woman, comparisons naturally arise. A man's masculinity is all about dignity and dignity, and it cannot be taken lightly. When Zhong Huier was called over, all she needed to do was to stir up trouble, acting like a cat today and a dog tomorrow, and she could cause these two people who were at odds with each other to start a quarrel.

This turned into a full-scale fight.

Besides, anyone who could be a kidnapper would probably have a bad conscience, and close friendships were a joke. Unequal distribution of spoils was common. Jiang Xi had noticed that the leader, Cheng Ge, was overbearing and often bossed his subordinates around. Meanwhile, the burly Lu Ge was said to have joined the business at the same time as Cheng Ge.

Brother Cheng gets the most, but he has no personal charm, so his subordinates must have been complaining about him for a long time.

Zhong Huier simply acted as a fuel to quickly intensify the potential conflict.

Brother Lu was teased and his mind became active, and his words and actions revealed his disobedience. Brother Cheng had a bad temper and was easily ignited, so it was natural for the two of them to clash.

Dagui and his fellow villager, Ah Xi, each on one side, tried to tear the two men apart, but they were too weak and ended up getting tangled up in the fight, dragging themselves into the fray. Liu Meijuan ran out in slippers, yelling nervously.

Jiang Xi rushed out holding her stomach and ran straight to the toilet. As expected, no one noticed her - or rather, even if they noticed, they didn't care.

The main room was directly connected to the only exit, and all the windows in the room were sealed from the inside. Even a mouse couldn't escape on a normal day. With five adults blocking this only exit, where could such a grown person escape?

Jiang Xi didn't want to run away either.

The toilet is located at the corner of the stairs. The stairs and the main room form a triangle, and the toilet is located in the shadow of this triangle, which happens to be in the blind spot of everyone's sight.

Jiang Xi calculated the time in his mind and ran up the stairs.

Holding her shoes, she slid up barefoot, like a cat, without making any sound.

Jiang Xi reserved three minutes for herself, forty seconds to go up and down the stairs, and the remaining two minutes and twenty seconds to find what she wanted - if the internal strife ended early, Zhong Huier would also find a way to help her buy time.

As early as when he occasionally "connected" and "chatted" with Dagui, Jiang Xi had already extracted the information he wanted.

There are four men and one woman in the kidnapper's den. Dagui and his fellow villagers Asi and Lu Ge all live on the first floor, Cheng Ge and the female beggar live on the second floor, and Cheng Ge's room is the first room on the left when you go up the second floor.

Thirty seconds passed.

Jiang Xi rushed into the first house on the left within the expected time. It was a rural earthen building without even a layer of white putty, and large areas of dilapidated red bricks were exposed on the wall.

There was a simple spring bed against the wall, with the mat curled up at the edges. There was a half-drunk cup of water on the bedside table, and a black waist bag with its zipper casually open, revealing a dozen big red solidarity bags.

Jiang Xi glanced past it indifferently: That was not what she was looking for.

Forty seconds.

There was an old-fashioned chest of drawers near the door. Jiang Xi reached out and pulled it open. Inside were five or six thin short-sleeved shirts and a leather jacket, both formal and casual. Jiang Xi glanced at it and his eyes fell on the drawer of the chest of drawers near the ground.

The drawer was locked and Jiang Xi couldn't open it.

Fifty seconds.

Jiang Xi's brows were calm. Although it was a critical moment, he was not in a hurry at all. He kept filtering various information in his mind.

Human traffickers usually don't stay in one place for too long. To ensure safety, their entire den is constantly moving. The keys to the only car in this gang are kept in the hands of the team leader, Cheng Ge.

In order to maintain his authority as captain, Brother Cheng is absolutely unwilling to let others handle the most important fixed asset of the kidnapper's nest - this is also consistent with the information Jiang Xi got from Dagui.

Zhong Huier was dragged by Cheng Lu and his partner to have a "threesome" just half an hour ago, which helped to cool down the anger between them. According to what she said when she came back, the car keys were not with Cheng Ge at that time.

So Jiang Xi was certain that the car keys must be in Cheng Ge's room, or rather, in the locked drawer of the chest of drawers. After all, this earthen tile house was probably rented from the villagers, and no other place was safe.

Sixty seconds.

The room was sparsely furnished, and everything was visible.

Jiang Xi searched through the pockets of her waist bag, her pillow, and under her bed, but found almost nothing except a stack of festive red bills.

Eighty seconds passed.

The noise downstairs gradually died down, and Jiang Xi knew that she didn't have much time left.

She stood in front of the chest of drawers again, and when her eyes swept over a row of neatly hung clothes, she suddenly exclaimed "Huh".

It was September, and school had just started, making it a hot season. Normally, people wore light summer clothes, but there was a leather jacket hanging in the closet: it was truly inappropriate.

I think this leather jacket must be Brother Cheng’s favorite thing - and people generally have a habit of putting their favorite things together with other favorite things, so that they can be pleasing to the eye and to their heart’s content.

Jiang Xi reached in and found a small key in the inner pocket of his wallet. He then used the key to unlock the door smoothly and found the car keys in the drawer. To his surprise, he also got a map of Gui City folded into a tofu block.

One hundred seconds.

Jiang Xi went downstairs quickly and returned with a full load.

Brother Cheng and Brother Lu were still pointing at each other and cursing at each other downstairs. Dagui and his fellow villager were holding each side to prevent the two from getting together. Their bodies were covered in bruises.
