Chapter 46 You've fooled me again.
Luo Xincheng had no idea what kind of nonsense Fu Zhiheng was thinking beneath his serious exterior. She unbuckled her seatbelt and said honestly, "I'm a little carsick."
Fu Zhiheng quickly rubbed her temples, then took out a bottle of mineral water from the glove box. "Do you feel nauseous? Have some water?"
Luo Xincheng thanked him, slowly took a couple of sips of water, and then glanced at him. "It's mainly because the road conditions were bad today, not entirely because you're a bad driver."
Is this considered being comforted?
Fu Zhiheng chuckled and teased him, "You just said you never want to ride in my car again."
Hearing this, Luo Xincheng glared at him with some displeasure, "I'm trying to comfort you, don't ruin the atmosphere, okay?"
Who really ruined the mood?
Fu Zhiheng hugged her waist without saying a word and rubbed his fluffy head against her neck. He didn't like to use hair gel, so his hair was soft and smooth, cool and silky against her skin, like a piece of fine satin.
She raised her hand and touched his head, her fingers sinking into his soft hair, muttering that his hair was actually quite good.
Upon hearing her praise, Fu Zhiheng casually took off his glasses and placed them on the dashboard, then seemingly unintentionally tilted his head, revealing half of his beautiful profile to her.
In the dimly lit space, his fair and delicate skin seemed to radiate a lustrous glow, silently capturing Luo Xincheng's attention.
She lowered her eyes, her fingertips lightly poking along his jawline until her fingertips brushed against his chin, feeling a completely different sensation. With great interest, she increased the pressure and began to caress him.
A seemingly smooth chin can feel a little prickly to the touch.
Fu Zhiheng felt itchy, his eyes narrowed slightly, and he chuckled softly, "It tickles."
He said it tickled, but instead of pulling away, he deliberately pressed his hand closer to hers and rubbed his chin against the back of her hand.
Luo Xincheng couldn't help but laugh out loud at the childish behavior, and pulled her hand back, saying, "It's prickly."
After saying that, she suddenly paused, vaguely remembering that they had had similar interactions before.
At this moment, Fu Zhiheng raised his face and looked at her with sincere eyes, "I shave properly every day."
It was from that time on that she began to have some gender awareness when facing Fu Zhiheng.
"I could tell." He glanced at her mischievously, a helpless smile playing on his lips. "Before that, you never treated me like a woman."
Sometimes he even felt that she didn't treat him like a person, but just as a useful tool, especially when she asked him to help with her homework.
In our daily interactions, the boundaries between us are often blurred.
When they first had physical contact, he was shy and confused, his whole body bubbling with pink bubbles, but she acted as if nothing was wrong, only touching his hand and saying how warm it was, and then asking him to warm her hands.
Later, when summer came, she was surprised to find that his skin felt cool to the touch, and that he had a magical constitution that was warm in winter and cool in summer, so she liked to stick close to him whenever she had nothing to do.
Even the later hugs were because she felt very secure and safe being held by him. In her words, it was like being held in the arms of a large plush toy, which is why she was willing to be hugged by him.
The same goes for kissing; it's purely because I find his lips and tongue so soft. He'll eat fruit-flavored candy before a wet kiss, afraid of giving her a bad experience, so every time I kiss her, I'm careful and try to please her in every way...
Looking back on the relationship, he had to admit that the reason she stayed with him for so long was mainly because she enjoyed his meticulous care.
But she must like him as a person, otherwise why wouldn't she find someone else to take care of her?
He suddenly sighed, "Back then, I hated summer the most."
Luo Xincheng glanced at him in surprise, not understanding why he changed the subject so quickly, since they hadn't been talking about anything related to the seasons just now.
Although she didn't understand, she still chimed in, "Me too. I always feel like summers in Yanjing are getting hotter every year. I'm drenched in sweat after just a few minutes outside, and my makeup gets ruined so quickly..."
He immediately laughed, his lips brushing against her earlobe, and said she didn't understand at all.
Their high school summer uniform was a regular T-shirt, made of thin fabric, with a three-button collar.
To stay cool, Luo Xincheng would usually unbutton all her clothes when sitting in the classroom. As a result, when Fu Zhiheng looked down at her, he would often inadvertently see the delicate lace at the edge of her bra and some of her fair and plump skin through her neckline.
Even though he looked away very quickly each time, once he saw it, he saw it. He couldn't pretend nothing had happened and stay the same, otherwise he would always feel like he was taking advantage of her.
So one time, driven by his conscience, he brought up the issue with her. But after hearing what he said, she just glared at him unhappily, probably because she thought he was being too fussy. Although she quickly buttoned up her shirt, a couple of days later she would complain that the collar was too tight and unbutton it. By then, Fu Zhiheng didn't dare to say anything more, afraid that she would find him troublesome.
He could only restrain himself and try to look only at her face and not look down.
But when Luo Xincheng was in a bad mood and needed to hug and kiss him to release her stress, their two young and inexperienced bodies pressed together, and through the thin fabric, she quickly noticed the restless and unusual reaction in his body.
I still remember the incredulous look she gave him when she first discovered his physical reaction. It was as if her entire worldview was collapsing and being reconstructed. She cursed him incoherently for a few moments before running away.
Fu Zhiheng hurriedly chased after her to apologize, but she ignored him.
Then began a one-sided cold war. Fu Zhiheng tried every day to be attentive to her, but she ignored him. Several days passed before she finally came to her senses and stopped treating him as a heartless and desireless tool who had no romantic feelings for her.
But she was very concerned about her image, and after realizing what had happened, she felt ashamed of the fear she had shown that day. She even asked him suspiciously if he had been secretly laughing at her. Even when he denied it, she was still half-convinced.
As if seeking revenge for what happened back then, every time she felt his boki, she would recklessly mock him for being a hypocritical pervert who would pretend to be innocent in front of her but whose mind was full of dirty thoughts. She wouldn't stop until she had thoroughly berated him until he was red in the face and couldn't lift his head.
Although there was an exaggeration most of the time, she was genuinely disappointed, "So you really are just an ordinary guy."
What could Fu Zhiheng do? He could only apologize, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it either... but having physiological desires is a normal thing, everyone..."
"Who said that?" Luo Xincheng's eyes widened, and she said gruffly, "I didn't!"
His lips twitched slightly, his smile bitter. "You really don't have it."
Most of his teenage troubles were related to her: the budding romance when they first met, the electric-like thrill when they were together, the inferiority complex and anxiety of wanting to see her but being afraid of being discovered, and the bitter jealousy when he saw her laughing and talking with other boys...
However, most of her teenage troubles were related to the two families behind her. She didn't care much about romance, treating it only as a game to relax.
Whenever she suffered some grievance at home, she would turn to him, seeking the care and affection she craved from him. He was merely her second choice, a substitute for her emotional needs.
To this day, her need for love seems to remain emotional, without involving physical needs.
This realization made Fu Zhiheng slightly discouraged, and he finally realized that Luo Xincheng was right to scold him before; he really was a hypocritical pervert.
"My head suddenly hurts so much..."
He muttered these mournful words, his cheek pressed against her neck, his nose twitching slightly as he shamelessly inhaled her pleasant scent.
Luo Xincheng noticed his actions and scoffed, "Are you a dog?"
He hummed in agreement, feeling embarrassed to say directly that he was her dog, and also afraid of sounding cheesy, so he restrained himself and said, "Yes."
She pressed for an answer, asking, "What is it?"
She insisted on hearing it, so Fu Zhiheng had no choice but to comply and obediently whispered in her ear, "It's your dog."
The next second, she clicked her tongue in amazement and said, "You're really shameless now, saying such embarrassing things."
Although her tone was clearly teasing rather than disgusted, Fu Zhiheng still blushed with embarrassment.
It felt like she had stepped on me, which was a little embarrassing, but I also felt a little itchy and wanted her to step on me again.
“You clearly enjoy listening to it too,” he protested softly.
Luo Xincheng completely ignored his comment, instead shrugged and shook his head, "Holding me so tight, are you trying to prevent me from going home?"
He tightened his grip on her hand reluctantly, and said playfully, "Stay with me a little longer... or if you have any questions for me, you can ask me now."
Recalling her previous question, he added, "I went to Chicago because I missed you so much and wanted to see you, so I went to look for you near your school at first, but I didn't see you for two days, so I gave up. I didn't expect to see you when I went to Lake Michigan to check it out... You're so heartless, you didn't even leave me a photo, but you clearly took a lot of photos of me, that's too much..."
Luo Xincheng quickly stopped her, "Stop, stop, stop, why are you judging me again?"
She pinched his cheek, narrowed her eyes seriously, and said, "You really hold a grudge against me, Fu? Aren't you going to secretly get revenge on me?"
Hearing this long-lost form of address, Fu Zhiheng took the initiative and captured her hand, kissing her palm deeply. "I'm so grateful that you're willing to get back together with me, how could I possibly seek revenge?"
Feeling that those words were sarcastic, Luo Xincheng snorted coldly, "You better be!"
Her palms were damp from his warm breath. She shook off his hold and pinched his cheek with her other hand. "Chicago is quite expensive. Where did you get the money?"
Thinking of a certain possibility, she gasped, "Could it be that they've been eating steamed buns for half a year?"
"Just how poor do you think I am?" Fu Zhiheng asked, somewhat amused and exasperated, before explaining, "I haven't had to pay tuition or fees since middle school. After my college entrance exam scores came out, the scholarships from my alma mater and Yenching University combined were enough to support me for four years of university..."
Hearing this, Luo Xincheng was incredulous. "The school is so generous, giving out so many scholarships?"
Fu Zhiheng glanced at her, hesitated, and said, "I was the top scorer in our city's college entrance examination that year."
Luo Xincheng quickly raised her hand to stop him, looking like she couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright, alright, stop pretending. You've caught me again!"
