Chapter 207 Wounded
Just then, in a flash, a figure suddenly darted out. With the dull thud of a dagger piercing flesh, people were pushed down, some were hit, and screams and cries rang out in the night. The bodyguards and men hidden in the shadows moved at the sound, but stopped abruptly when they saw what was happening in front of them.
Fu Yushu, who had been huddled on the ground in a disheveled state, was now standing behind Fu Yuqi. The dagger that was supposed to be aimed at Fu Yuhua's neck was now in his right hand, pressed against Fu Yuqi's neck.
Fu Yuhua was shielded behind him and successfully escaped Fu Yuqi's control.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye; before anyone could even react, they witnessed a dramatic shift in the situation.
"Make your men lay down their weapons."
"Fu Yushu, you are truly remarkable! I underestimated you..."
"Shut up."
Fu Yushu interrupted Fu Yuqi's chatter, and pushed the knife forward. Soon, something stained Fu Yuqi's light-colored outer robe with a dark color.
"Kick the weapon over here. The guy on the far right, use your clothes to tie everyone's hands behind their backs. Five minutes. If you're too slow, I'll kill him."
"Don't listen to his nonsense! Fu Yushu, I don't believe you would really kill him..."
A muffled thud replaced Fu Yuqi's scream. Fu Yushu used his hand as a knife, slashing directly at the back of Fu Yuqi's neck, knocking him unconscious.
Fu Yuqi was laid face down on the ground, and Fu Yushu sat directly on his back, the tip of the dagger pressed against his neck.
"Four and a half minutes left."
Fu Yushu's ruthless and taciturn demeanor finally reminded those who were loyal to Fu Yuqi that they were not facing the same people as before, but the renowned head of the Fu family.
Almost instinctively, fear made these people no longer dare to resist. They resigned themselves to being tied up as Fu Yushu demanded.
"come over."
While waiting, Fu Yushu looked at Fu Yuhua and was about to beckon, but in the end he put his hand down and even hid it under the hem of his clothes.
Fu Yuhua stared at Fu Yushu without moving.
So Fu Yushu patiently explained, "Come here, I'll cut the rope for you. I don't have my phone with me, can you call Diao Huai for me and ask him to bring some people over?"
Fu Yuhua then stepped forward and did as instructed.
Fu Yushu remained seated on the ground, looked up, and his gaze fell on the bloodstain on Fu Yuhua's neck. His Adam's apple bobbed slightly. "The wound on your neck, it must hurt a lot, right? Are there any other injuries?"
Fu Yuhua shook her head.
Thanks to Fu Yushu's earlier warning, Fu Yuqi only tied her up for the past half day and did not do anything excessive.
The wound on my neck looks serious, but it doesn't actually hurt that much.
Looking at Fu Yushu's appearance, Fu Yuhua couldn't help but recall the times when Fu Yushu felt both heartache and anger after she was injured.
Now, all that remains for him is peace.
Fu Yuhua felt that she could no longer understand Fu Yushu.
Diao Huai was already waiting with his men at the hillside viewing platform outside the villa. The moment the call connected, he practically jumped up and led his men to Hengshan Xiaozhu at top speed.
Upon arriving at the scene, he was taken aback to see a group of people tied up, but he quickly spotted Fu Yushu and hurriedly went up to him, saying, "Sir."
"Clean up the scene, and call the Nancheng police to come and arrest the people. As for Fu Yuqi..." Fu Yushu glanced at the person beneath him, "hand him over as well."
As he spoke, Fu Yushu prepared to get up, but just as he was about to stand up, he swayed and sat back down.
Fortunately, Fu Yuqi was still dizzy and did not feel any discomfort.
"I'm a little dizzy from sitting for so long," Fu Yushu explained, then stretched out his right hand to Diao Huai, "Give me a hand."
Diao Huai quickly pulled the person up.
Fu Yushu walked to the side, picked up the men's trench coat that had fallen off the lawn, and handed it to Fu Yuhua.
"It's chilly at night, put on some clothes to keep out the wind and avoid catching a cold. Later, I'll have Diao Huai take you to the hospital for a check-up to see where you bumped yourself... and have the doctor prescribe some medicine."
Fu Yuhua looked at him without speaking or responding.
After a whole day of information overload and overwhelming shocks, she was still struggling to sort out her emotions and couldn't quite understand Fu Yushu.
Seeing that she remained silent, Fu Yushu sighed softly, assuming that she was still frightened by what happened that night and couldn't react for a moment. So he unfolded his trench coat and draped it over Fu Yuhua's body, then took two steps back.
"What happened today is my fault. I blame myself for not keeping a close eye on Yuqi. But whether you believe it or not, I promise you that you will never encounter anything like this again in Nancheng."
As he spoke, Fu Yushu looked at Diao Huai and said, "Go get the car and take Huahua to the hospital."
The two characters "Huahua" are like a pebble falling into the heart of a lake, creating ripples on the surface but eventually reaching the bottom of the lake.
Diao Huai approached Fu Yuhua and gestured, "Miss Yuhua, please—"
"How much longer are you going to keep this from me?"
Fu Yuhua looked at Fu Yushu and suddenly spoke, completely ignoring Diao Huai who was standing to the side.
Seeing this, Diao Huai, who was also bombarded with a lot of information today, immediately took a few steps back, making room for the person involved.
Fu Yuhua walked towards Fu Yushu step by step. When she was only one step away from him, she suddenly raised her hand, grabbed Fu Yushu's collar, and pulled him down sharply, making his cold, jade-like face level with her own.
"I am not a daughter of the Fu family, and you did not kill my mother back then. Everything that happened back then and now has nothing to do with you. Fu Yushu, how long are you going to keep all this from me? Even if Fu Yuqi really kills me, will you still refuse to tell me a single truth?"
"With me here, no one can touch you. Not even Fu Yuqi."
Fu Yushu's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and the light reflected in his eyes. For some reason, he had a kind of inexplicably broken and pale beauty. The words he spoke were not grand pronouncements, but they gave people an unwavering certainty that he could do it.
But that wasn't what Fu Yuhua asked, and that wasn't the answer she wanted to hear.
"Tonight I would like to continue staying at Hengshan Xiaozhu, in my old room. If Mr. Fu has made up his mind, he can come to me anytime. I will give you one last night to consider whether you want to tell me the truth. If Mr. Fu still feels that he has nothing to say to me, I will immediately return to the United States after tonight and will never set foot in Nancheng again, so as not to offend Mr. Fu."
Fu Yuhua stared intently into Fu Yushu's eyes, and after saying these words, she released Fu Yushu's collar.
Her gaze shifted to the villa. Fu Yuhua stopped looking at him and, without waiting for Fu Yushu's reply, pulled her trench coat tighter around herself and walked towards the mansion. Her hand touched the coat, feeling a damp sensation. Fu Yuhua paused for a moment, then raised her hand to her eyes.
In the dim light, my fingers were covered in an unknown dark liquid, which carried a rusty, bloody smell when the wind blew.
Fu Yuhua's mind went blank for a moment, and she suddenly turned around, as if she had just thought of something.
At the same time, not far behind him, Diao Huai exclaimed in surprise.
"Sir! Your hand!"
-
Enveloped in the smell of disinfectant from the hospital, Fu Yuhua ultimately couldn't stay overnight at Hengshan Xiaozhu.
With Diao Huai's shout, she finally realized what the liquid that had soaked her trench coat was.
It's blood.
Fu Yushu's blood.
In order to snatch the knife from Fu Yuqi and save her, Fu Yushu used his hand to block the knife. His left hand was almost pierced through by the dagger. In order to avoid being discovered by others and to avoid Fu Yuhua worrying, Fu Yushu endured the pain without uttering a sound. Even Fu Yuhua did not notice his abnormality.
It wasn't until the bleeding became so severe that Diao Huai finally noticed something was wrong.
In the VIP ward, Fu Yushu was forced to lie on the hospital bed, his left hand wrapped in thick gauze, which added a touch of inexplicable comicality and mundane charm to his aloof and noble demeanor.
According to the doctor, if Fu Yushu had arrived half an hour later, even a miracle wouldn't have been able to save his left hand.
Fu Yuhua sat beside him, her neck also wrapped in gauze. The two looked at each other for a moment, then Fu Yushu suddenly looked up at Diao Huai. Diao Huai immediately looked down and silently slipped out of the ward.
After the door closed, only Fu Yushu and Fu Yuhua remained in the room.
“I heard everything you said to Fu Hongyuan at the sanatorium. Fu Yushu, I hate being kept in the dark. If you really did it to protect me, as Fu Yuqi said, then I think I have the right to know the whole truth.”
