Chapter 246 The next target is Harold

On the other side, after escaping from the resort that had become a purgatory, Ribs plunged into the wilderness far away from roads and human habitation.

He had lost his Nighthawk helicopter and all known communication channels.

The deaths of Morgan and Eberhart were like two bombs exploding in the center of the federal power structure. The FBI, Secret Service, IRS, state police... like sharks smelling blood, closely monitored any contacts, accounts, communication nodes and hiding places that had any connection with him, Reebok.

Alfred, Fox, the butcher, and the others? They can't be contacted.

Any phone call or internet access could become the coordinate for precisely delivering deadly firepower.

He can only rely on himself. The next target is the culprit Harold.

The road to New York is long and thorny.

After several days of almost inhuman trekking, the desolation faded away, and a gray railway town filled with the smell of rust and dust appeared at the end of the sight.

Outside a greasy fast food restaurant at the town entrance, a homeless man curled up in the corner caught his attention.

The man was wrapped in a tattered coat that was so dirty that the original color could no longer be seen. His hair and beard were matted, and he exuded an indescribable smell. His empty eyes occasionally swept across passers-by, but most of the time he just stared at the ground.

Ribs walked over and pushed open the greasy glass door.

A moment later, he came out with two steaming double beef burgers and two full-sized Cokes.

He sat down next to the homeless man and handed him one of the burgers and a Coke without saying a word.

The homeless man's cloudy eyes lit up instantly. With incredible surprise and a hint of vigilance, he suddenly reached out and grabbed the burger and began to gobble it up.

The thick sauce stained his chapped lips and dirty beard. He also gulped down half a cup of Coke and burped loudly.

The old TV in the store was humming, and the solemn voice of the news anchor came out intermittently: "...The murder of Illinois Governor James Morgan in his official residence shocked the nation...General Dynamics President Wilson Eberhart was tragically killed at a private resort...The suspect, Reebs, the former Chicago City Council speaker, is listed as a most wanted criminal by multiple federal agencies...The police are calling on the public to provide information..."

The homeless man glanced up at the TV screen and saw the police's simulated wanted poster - a cold and murderous Ribs.

A toothless grin spread across his grimy face, mingled with hamburger crumbs and spit, as he shouted, "Damn it! Haha! Great job! Those high-handed bastards! The governor? The big boss? Pah! They deserve to be slaughtered! Better fucking kill all these high-ranking people! Don't leave any alive! Haha!"
