Chapter 30: Small talk

That woman must be excellent...

If you get a chance you must see it in person.

Fu Xiao asked her aunt curiously, "Aunt, what's the name of that woman?"

Li Xiufen looked nostalgic, "her last name was Shen, and her name was Shen Ruoyi. She was a smart and lovely girl. I remember she gave me a scarf she knitted herself, and I still have it..."

She said "oh" and said nothing more.

She thought to herself: Shen Ruoyi? The name sounded nice, so she remembered it.

While she has nothing to do now, she wants to find out everything about the family...

"Aunt, what kind of people are my second uncle and second aunt?" Fu Xiao asked his aunt again.

Li Xiufen smiled and said, "Your second uncle is just an ordinary soldier. You will know when you meet him..."

"Your three uncles are all different people. Your second uncle looks a lot like your grandfather and has been in the army for many years. You may be scared when you meet him for the first time, but it's okay. Your second uncle also likes girls, so he won't be that mean to you."

Fu Xiao asked her again: "What about my second aunt?"

"Um...your second aunt..." Li Xiufen obviously didn't know how to describe her sister-in-law, and her voice was hoarse for a moment. She thought for a long time before summing up, "Your second aunt treats your second uncle and several brothers very well..."

Fu Xiao nodded, indicating that he understood and that the person should not be that good.

Li Xiufen held her little face in her hands, kissed her forehead, and said gently: "Xiaoxiao, you are the only girl in our Fu family... and you are so beautiful. Don't worry, everyone who sees you will like you."

"Aunt...you are so kind."

Fu Xiao smiled sweetly and hugged her.

The afternoon sun made people feel dizzy and sleepy.

In order to ensure she could fall asleep at night, she went back to her room to get the medical book from the space and sat next to her aunt to help her sew clothes.

The afternoon passed quickly, and soon the sun was no longer shining in the front yard. My aunt had also finished sewing a piece of clothing. It was a thin coat for Grandpa Fu. It was dark grey in color and looked better than the coats sold outside. Most importantly, the stitches were very fine and felt very comfortable. My aunt rinsed it with water and hung it up to dry. It could be worn after it was dry.

Around four o'clock, Fu Hong came back carrying a bucket with several fish in it, each weighing two or three pounds, including two grass carps and one carp.

I said to her happily: "Sister, do you like eating fish?"

Fu Xiao nodded, "I like it, second brother, I will make you delicious food in the evening."

He smiled happily, his eyes full of anticipation for the delicious food. He stood up, picked up the bucket and ran out again, saying as he walked, "Sister, if you like it, I'll get you some more."

"Brother...please be careful."

Li Xiufen smiled and said to her, "Don't worry about them. Your two brothers have been playing in the river since they were young and are very good at swimming."

"Hehe...this fish is really big. I'll go clean it up. Xiaoxiao, how are we going to eat it?" She picked up a fish and asked her.

Fu Xiao thought for a moment and asked, "Aunt, do we have soybean oil?"

Li Xiufen: "Yes, it's the welfare provided by your uncle's company. We have two buckets of it."

"Then let's stew some braised carp tonight, and then deep-fry the remaining two fish into fish pieces so we can keep them for later consumption."

Her aunt nodded to indicate that she would listen to her. She took a few fish into the kitchen and started to clean them. She followed in to help. After her aunt cleaned one fish, she helped to wash it, remove the fishy thread, and used another kitchen knife to cut the fish into similar-sized pieces.

She cut two grass carps into pieces and put them in a full bowl. She added seasoning, appropriate amount of flour, and an egg and marinated them.

After marinating for about half an hour, pour soybean oil into the pan, put the fish pieces in and fry until golden brown and cooked through.

Today the whole village was filled with the aroma of fish, but the aroma from her house did not attract anyone's attention. A pot of fish pieces were fried one by one and placed in a clean pot.

"Aunt, try it. Is it delicious?"

She picked one up with chopsticks and fed it to her aunt.

"It's delicious. There's no fishy smell at all. It's very tasty. Xiao Xiao's cooking skills are really good. It tastes better than the fish I cook."

Fu Xiao smiled, fished out the impurities from the soybean oil left over from frying the fish, put the soybean oil in an unused basin at home and covered it with a lid. The oil could be used for cooking and of course could not be thrown away.

After looking at the weather outside, I decided to start cooking.

My aunt is preparing porridge and steamed buns.

She prepared the side dishes for the braised fish, picked a few green and red peppers from the backyard, and prepared onions, ginger, and garlic.

Heat the oil in a pan and start cooking braised fish...

When making this dish, she secretly put some spiritual spring water into it.

After a while, the unique aroma of the braised fish spread out.

"......"
