After the morning meeting, Mu Lianshen returned to the office and saw Fu Xiao helping him pack up. He smiled and said, "I'll do it myself."
Fu Xiao straightened his shirt without even turning his head. "It's all ready, Dad, go do your thing."
"I'm done," he walked over and took the clothes from her hand, "Where's Xiaokai?"
"Who knows where he went..."
After packing up, Mu Lianshen looked at his watch and patted her on the shoulder. "Wait for me in the car. I want to talk to your Uncle Wei again."
Fu Xiao nodded and went downstairs carrying the bag of clothes.
When he came to the front of the car, he saw Fu Kai sitting obediently in the car, "Why are you so obedient?"
"Hey, hey," Fu Kai moved inside to make room for her, "It looks too serious here, I don't dare to run around,"
"Aren't military districts more serious? Why aren't you afraid?"
He hugged her arm and rubbed it, "It's following you, isn't it?"
"I asked you to follow me, but you didn't listen."
Fu Kai lowered his head and sighed: "When I was in Dashan Village, my parents and grandfather told me many times not to act recklessly in my uncle's place, especially in the study, which I was not allowed to enter."
A week before he came to the Northwest, his family gave him a series of training, telling him where he could not go and what he could not say. They told him a lot, and he remembered it all.
Fu Xiao gently rubbed his head and said, "Be good, you can't just enter the study room, but if your sister lets you follow me, then it's okay."
Fu Kai nodded.
Mu Lianshen came to the front of the car and sat in the passenger seat. The guard and driver sat in the driver's seat and started the car.
Seeing that there was another car behind him, Fu Xiao smiled and said, "Uncle Wei arranged these things. Why didn't you refuse this time?"
"Your uncle Wei said that this is called pomp and circumstance. He thinks it's embarrassing for me to go out in such a shabby manner..."
Fu Kai blinked: "I understand the pomp and circumstance."
Fu Xiao looked at him with amusement, "You know a lot."
He happily said to her, "On the wedding day, the third son of Aunt Wang in our village rode his bicycle to the next village to pick up his bride. I heard people talking about it, saying it was a grand occasion..."
"For example, when another family got married, they used the village's bullock cart, so no one mentioned the word ostentation."
"Hahahaha," Fu Xiao laughed, that's what he meant.
When they arrived at the fork in the road, Fu Sui was already standing there waiting. After getting in the car, the driver sped up at Mu Lianshen's signal.
At nine o'clock in the middle of the night, we arrived at a county and stayed in a cadre guesthouse for one night.
We set off again the next day.
The sun is half set and the light is dim.
The car stopped at the gate of the compound. Mu Lianshen did not get out of the car. He just said to the guard: "Go to the Mu family and call the old man."
The guard got out of the car in response.
Fu Kai leaned over the car window and looked out, "Uncle, aren't you going to get out of the car?"
Mu Lianshen smiled and said, "Let's go to the restaurant to have a meal first and then go back."
He said this while looking at Fu Xiao.
"What if Grandpa is ready?"
The news of their return to Beijing had already been told to Mr. Mu. According to his personality, he should have prepared a table of food.
Mu Lianshen said: "I have already told your Grandpa Liu not to prepare anything."
"Oh, then I'll pick him up," Fu Xiao opened the car door and got out, followed by Fu Kai and Fu Sui.
Fu Kai pulled Fu Sui's sleeve with his little hand, motioning him to squat. Fu Sui smiled and did as he was told, leaning down to look at him, "What's wrong, little one?"
"Third brother, it's not good to come to your house without a gift, isn't it?"
Fu Sui raised his eyebrows slightly and pursed his lips tightly.
He wanted to laugh.
"It's time to prepare,"
Fu Kai tugged at him again, feeling a little uneasy. "What should we do? We didn't take anything."
Fu Sui's lips curled up, but were forced down again, "Yeah, what should I do..."
Fu Xiao, who heard everything nearby, rolled his eyes, pulled Fu Kai into his arms, and coaxed him, "Don't listen to Third Brother's nonsense. This is my sister's home, and that's your home. You need to bring things back to your own home. Do you treat my sister as an outsider?"
Fu Kai hugged her and shook his head, "No."
"That's fine. I know you are sensible, but you don't have to be sensible in front of me."
"Besides," Fu Xiao threatened him deliberately, "if you bring anything here, your uncle will be angry."
Fu Kai looked at Mu Lianshen nervously. Fu Xiao winked at him, and he cooperated by frowning and nodding.
"Sister, uncle, I understand..."
He nodded obediently.
He rolled his eyes at Fu Sui, snorted coldly, and turned his head away from him.
Seeing the shadow of Master Mu, she went up to him and said, "Grandpa,"
"Hey, my dear, come here for a hug..."
Mr. Mu hugged her and then said what all elders would say when they meet again after a long separation: "You have lost weight..."
Seeing the well-behaved and clever Fu Kai, he happily touched his head and said, "This must be Xiao Kai."
"Grandpa Mu, I'm Fu Kai,"
"What a good kid. What grade are you in now..."
Seeing that they were really chatting, Mu Lianshen, who was sitting in the driver's seat, reminded them: "It's getting dark..."
Fu Xiao took Mr. Mu's arm and got in the car. Mu Lianshen started the car and drove towards the hotel...
...
The next day.
Fu Kai stayed at home to accompany Mr. Mu, while Fu Xiao and Fu Sui came to the cadres' guesthouse.
Fu Weilun opened the door and saw the two people, then he stepped aside and motioned for them to come in.
Fu Yu was sorting something in the room.
"Brother, let me help you," Fu Xiao walked over and said.
Fu Yu was not polite and pointed at a few of the papers and said, "These, reorganize them by category."
