Chapter 46: Eating the Evil Consequences Seems a Bit Ambiguous

Chapter 46: Eating the Evil Consequences Seems a Bit Ambiguous

A cold wind blew, sweeping up the fallen leaves and lifting a corner of the black and gold brocade robe.

Under the corridor, the two seemed to have fallen into thick ink. The entire Luo Mansion was plunged into darkness. Only the candle in Luo Qingling's hand emitted a faint light in the darkness.

Qin Yanheng lifted Luo Qingling in one hand and slowly walked along the corridor. She twisted in his arms for a moment, and he lowered his eyes slightly to look at her. The candlelight reflected on her face, making her skin appear even paler. They were so close now that Qin Yanheng could clearly see the fine hairs on Luo Qingling's cheeks.

"Your Highness," Luo Qingling said, her eyelashes fluttering, her eyes fixed on the front. "Does Your Highness have any idea where that demon is hiding? We can't just walk away all night."

As soon as he finished speaking, before Qin Yanheng could answer, he heard a strange sound behind him and a fishy smell suddenly surrounded him.

"Here it comes." Qin Yanheng said in a cold voice, and suddenly turned around while holding Luo Qingling, who exclaimed in surprise.

It was a bright red, in stark contrast to the ink-black darkness of the mansion. Under the candlelight, a face covered in corpse spots suddenly appeared before their eyes. It was the actor who was possessed by a ghost in the theater that day.

The golden dragon sword in her sleeve vibrated for a moment. Luo Qingling raised her eyes to look at Qin Yanheng. From her perspective, she could only see his thin chin. For some reason, she felt that Qin Yanheng didn't show much fear at the sudden appearance of the actor before him. Instead, he raised an eyebrow and looked calmly at the actor floating towards them from the corridor.

"Your Highness, what's wrong..." No move.

In the blink of an eye, the actor in the bright red costume walked straight past them as if he didn't see them.

"It's a remnant of the actor's soul."

Qin Yanheng glanced at Luo Qingling, a strange color surging in his black and white eyes. He raised his eyebrows to signal Luo Qingling to be silent, then moved to follow the actor.

The two souls walked around the corridors and came to a courtyard. Even though it was Qin Yanheng's first time "strolling" around the Luo Mansion, he could guess that this small courtyard with lush trees was where General Luo lived before he was demoted. It has been deserted for nearly twenty years and there is no one around, which added a bit of weirdness in the middle of the night.

The actor's feet left the ground and floated to the middle of the courtyard and stopped.

Luo Qingling raised her eyes and met Qin Yanheng's for a moment, each seeing confusion in the other's eyes. In the middle of the night, was this actor coming to her house just for a stroll?

"How can the government be honest? The path we follow is paved with the blood of our predecessors."

The actor standing in the courtyard suddenly turned his head and looked at the two people in the corridor in a strange posture. His face, covered with corpse spots, was crying and laughing, but no tears could flow. His empty and lifeless eyes stared straight at Luo Qingling. His purple lips slowly opened and uttered a few miserable words: "Unjust, I am really wronged--"

What does the actor mean?

Luo Qingling's heart sank, instinctively believing it was another ghost seeking to redress her injustice. Her legs rested on Qin Yanheng's arms, her entire body wrapped around his neck. Luo Qingling subconsciously tightened her grip, though the force wasn't strong. Qin Yanheng, however, complied with her wishes, lowering his head slightly and frowning at her.

"My death was so unjust, so unjust!"

The actor was waving his sleeves and circling in the courtyard, as if he was still performing on the stage. Her feet were still taking small steps off the ground, but she had no strength to lift her head, and it drooped limply to the side. Her eyes, with red whites, were now rolling upwards, and she was staring blankly at Luo Qingling.

Why is it her again! Luo Qingling looked away and put her face into Qin Yanheng's chest.

The actress didn't seem to have any intention of attacking the two. She simply stood in the courtyard, singing an opera, expressing her deepest injustice. Her costume, under the dim candlelight, looked incredibly red, as if stained with blood.

The actor suddenly stopped and sighed. Just as Luo Qingling was wondering whether the actor had discovered them, he saw a dark red color slowly seeping out of his costume, shining in the moonlight.

The color is the same as the brocade my aunt sent.

"The actor is bleeding!" Luo Qingling didn't care whether the actor would notice or not. She exclaimed and suddenly grabbed Qin Yanheng's arm, "The brocade cloth that the actor was wearing is exactly the same as the cloth I received two days ago!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Yanheng waved his wide sleeves and the talisman paper flew straight towards the actor in the courtyard. Unexpectedly, the actor seemed to be burned by something and suddenly fell to the ground and twisted into a ball.

The blood flowing from the actor's body stained the bluestone slabs, leaving dark red marks on the ground. Just when the two thought they could catch the monster, the actor suddenly jumped up and ran towards them viciously.

"Why am I the one who died? What does it have to do with me? Why did you let me die so miserably?"

Qin Yanheng dodged, holding Luo Qingling in his arms. The actor fell flat on the red wall, leaving a bloody trail in the shape of a human. The next moment, the actor's head, which had drooped to the side of his shoulder, suddenly fell backward, his white pupils staring straight at Luo Qingling.

"I didn't kill you, why are you always looking at me?" Luo Qingling couldn't help but speak out. She slapped Qin Yanheng's arm and said hurriedly, "Young Prince, get her away!"

Qin Yanheng didn't care about being ordered around by Luo Qingling. He threw out a few more talismans, intending to cast a spell to suppress the actress. However, the actress was too resentful, and ordinary talismans were completely ineffective. They could only temporarily pin her to the wall, and the fishy smell that wafted over made the two of them want to vomit.

"Luo Qingling," Qin Yanheng stared at the actor with a stern expression, "Have you noticed that all those monsters are coming for you?"

"Aren't you talking nonsense?" Luo Qingling replied loudly.

"Now only the Golden Dragon Sword can subdue this evil actor. Come, I will teach you." Qin Yanheng raised his other hand and handed the Golden Dragon Sword to Luo Qingling, then put his lips close to her ear and whispered something.

The man's breath came in bursts. In her haste, Luo Qingling ignored the tingling heat. She repeated Qin Yanheng's words and swung the Golden Dragon Sword. In the blink of an eye, a golden light flashed, and a golden dragon flew from the tip of the sword, piercing directly at the actor, who was pinned to the wall by the talisman. The actor instantly turned into red smoke and dissipated into the thick darkness.

"Well done, Miss Luo."

Qin Yanheng chuckled softly in her ear, and the low sound reached her ears. Luo Qingling suddenly felt a surge of heat on her cheeks, and she slapped Qin Yanheng's arm that was holding her.

After the actor disappeared, the black air that enveloped the Luo Mansion gradually dissipated. Not far away, hurried footsteps were heard, and the light and shadow of lanterns swayed on the ground, coming from far away.

"Who is there?"

"It's Uncle Zhao's voice. Your Highness, let's go!" Luo Qingling's heart was pounding, and he reached out and pinched Qin Yanheng's arm hard.

"Be gentle, it hurts." Qin Yanheng deliberately cried out in pain, hugged Luo Qingling and hid under a tree.

The next moment, the light of the lantern broke through the night, and Uncle Zhao strode into the courtyard. He raised the lantern in front of his eyes and looked around. Perhaps because Uncle Zhao's eyesight was not good, he did not notice the abnormality on the ground, so he had to leave with a puzzled look on his face.

Under the tree.

Qin Yanheng suddenly lifted the hand that was supporting Luo Qingling, bringing her closer to his face. He lowered his eyes slightly to look at the person in his arms. The cool moonlight reflected on his slightly flushed face, making his already handsome face even more charming.

When the actor was still there, Qin Yanheng didn't think this posture was ambiguous, but now that he suddenly calmed down, he was a little at a loss.

Late at night, in pajamas, close together... He was indeed a bit too reckless.

Qin Yanheng looked up at the sky, his Adam's apple twitching for a moment, his expression stiff. The person in his arms remained silent, and the two of them fell into silence. Qin Yanheng lost his patience and, on tiptoeing, flew towards the rooftop, carrying the person in his arms, heading straight for Luo Qingling's room.

When the house appeared in front of him, Qin Yanheng breathed a sigh of relief. He felt like he was about to throw the hot potato in his hand away, but he also felt a little reluctant in his heart.

He is really sick!

Qin Yanheng kicked the door open, rushed to the bed with the person in his arms, and then gently put Luo Qingling on the bed. He was about to turn around and leave without saying a word, but someone suddenly pulled his sleeve. He looked back in surprise.

"Your Highness, my foot hasn't been bandaged yet." Luo Qingling looked up at him with a soft voice.

Yes, she had just sprained her ankle, and he had held her for half the night. He couldn't just abandon her like that now. Thinking of this, Qin Yanheng half-knelt in front of the bed, slightly raised his eyes to look at Luo Qingling, and forced himself to remain calm: "Where is the medicine in the mansion usually kept? I'll go get it and apply it to you."

"In the wooden box next to the dressing table."

Luo Qingling looked away, a little embarrassed, her bare feet rubbing together. It was the first time her feet had been seen by a stranger. Fortunately, she, Qin Yanheng, and God knew about it, otherwise her reputation would have been ruined.

Qin Yanheng approached her, holding a porcelain medicine bottle. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were dark and shimmering. He looked at her with a dodge. He walked straight to the bed, then squatted down, lowered his head, and said softly, "I'm sorry."

Suddenly, someone grabbed her injured foot. Startled, Luo Qingling tried to pull it back, but Qin Yanheng gave her a slight tug. She stared at the top of his head in surprise. Although she couldn't see Qin Yanheng's gaze at the moment, for some reason, Luo Qingling felt that his gaze on her feet was particularly intense.

The medicinal oil was cold, and after a while a slight spicy taste came over me.

Luo Qingling couldn't help but pull her foot back in pain, but was held back by Qin Yanheng. She was about to say something when she saw Qin Yanheng looking up at her with a gloomy look in his eyes.

"Don't move, the medicine hasn't dried yet." Qin Yanheng's Adam's apple slid for a moment, and his voice was low.

"I'm going to sleep. Your Highness, please come back soon." Luo Qingling turned her head away and didn't dare to look at him. There were only the two of them in the room. The Luo Mansion was particularly quiet late at night. She couldn't help but breathe softly. Her injured foot was placed in Qin Yanheng's hand, which was held tightly by the latter and could not be retracted. Luo Qingling felt her cheeks getting hot.

Qin Yanheng wasn't much better. He was a prince, but when had he ever squatted under a young lady's skirt and done such a thing? He coughed lightly and released her hand, then stood up and walked out, his figure quickly disappearing into the night.

The back figure was hurried, giving a feeling of fleeing in panic.

Prince's Palace.

As soon as Qin Yanheng returned to the room, he threw himself face down on the bed and forced himself to sleep without moving. His red ears revealed his panicked heart.

What should I do? It seems like he and Luo Qingling are having some ambiguity...
