Chapter 70 Rewind Magic (2) Arrest this disrespectful person...

Xia Ying was stunned and asked, "Um, who did you say you were?"

The little girl said frankly, "I am Xia Kaiyun, your biological mother."

Xia Ying, covered in sweat, stammered, "Then should I call you Mom... Mom..."

"Just call me Xia Kaiyun. After all, I'm not your mother yet." Xia Kaiyun covered her mouth with her hand as if to whisper, "Besides, this is a public place. If you talk like this, people will think you're a pervert and arrest you."

Xia Ying quickly looked around and found herself sitting on a park bench with Xia Kaiyun. Pedestrians were coming and going, and there was a lot of noise. Fortunately, no one paid attention to her.

Unlike where she came from, the human world here is a scene of ordinary peace and tranquility.

Xia Ying turned to look at Xia Kaiyun beside her. She had her hair tied in a ponytail and had a neat fringe. She had a pair of bright, sparkling black eyes just like Xia Ying's. Compared to her mother in her memory, she looked more like Xia Ying herself.

She began to realize she was sitting side-by-side with her mother, who was even younger than herself, and a flood of emotions overwhelmed her. Xia Ying felt a strange mix of emotions – one moment the scene seemed bizarre, the next she was devastated and bewildered by her thwarted plan. She covered her face with her hands, utterly dejected, "This is a complete blunder! This isn't the Xia Kaiyun I'm looking for..."

Xia Kaiyun reached out her small hand and patted her head comfortingly: "But 'this Xia Kaiyun' really needs you right now."

"..." Xia Ying opened her fingers, revealing a pair of eyes. "What do you mean?"

Xia Kaiyun whispered in her ear, "Hmm~ I'll let you in on a little secret, I can foresee parts of the future."

"Oh, I already know that."

"So, I knew something unexpected would happen today." The little girl wasn't disappointed at all; instead, she continued mysteriously, "If you hadn't come to help me, it could have had very serious consequences."

"What accident?"

"Huh?!"

Completely bewildered, she followed Xia Kaiyun all the way to the bus stop outside the park. The bus stopped right in front of them, and they boarded without any trouble. Xia Ying instinctively reached for her phone to scan the QR code, but then froze in front of the old-fashioned coin box.

Xia Kaiyun slipped two coins into the box and led Xia Ying to a seat by the window. She pretended to look out the window, but every now and then she would steal glances at Xia Ying out of the corner of her eye…

Xia Ying said, "Actually, you can just look at mine."

"Hehe." Xia Kaiyun turned around and said shyly, "Although I knew you would come today, it still feels amazing to actually see you... We look so alike, you are like a grown-up version of me."

“It should be that you look like me when I grew up… no. It should be that I look like you when you were little… no, you’re younger than me now.” Xia Ying confused herself and couldn’t help but laugh with the other person. “But you’re right, we do look very alike.”

Xia Kaiyun asked her, "Xia Ying, what will I be like when I grow up?"

"Didn't you know it?"

"I can only see part of the important stuff." Xia Kaiyun leaned over her, bumping her with his shoulder like a kitten. "Tell me quickly!"

The innocent ten-year-old girl, Xia Kaiyun, asked in confusion, "What is a riddle person? Is it someone who loves to tell riddles?"

Xia Ying felt a sense of change, and asked seriously, "What kind of person do you want to become now?"

Xia Kaiyun immediately exclaimed excitedly, "I want to be an explorer!"

What is an explorer?

“It’s about going on adventures in all sorts of strange and wonderful worlds,” Xia Kaiyun said. “Because I’m different from other people, I can see many different things.”

She suddenly turned her face and pointed out the car window: "Look!"

Xia Ying looked up and saw several snow-white unicorns flying overhead, their wings flapping and manes fluttering in the wind, seemingly oblivious to the human city below.

This is because those abyssal creatures have not actually entered the human world; these are merely reflections they have accidentally cast upon it.

“After you… I often saw the shadows of abyssal creatures,” Xia Ying said. “At first, I didn’t know what they were and thought there was something wrong with my brain. But later, I really did encounter a Cer’er from the Demon Realm…”

Xia Kaiyun was very interested in the topic of visitors from the Demon Realm: "Who is Cerberus? What does it look like?"

“We’re talking about your dreams right now,” Xia Ying steered the conversation back on track. “Don’t you think those things are scary? Why do you want to take the risks?”

“Because they’re so interesting,” Xia Kaiyun said with anticipation. “I want to get to know them, to find out where they come from, and maybe then they won’t be so scary anymore.”

“Oh, so you want to study abyssal creatures,” Xia Ying concluded. “In that sense, your wish has been fulfilled.”

"I've become an explorer?"

“No, you became a scientist,” Xia Ying said. “In a sense, it’s pretty much the same.”

The bus arrived at the stop, and they got off and continued walking along the seaside.

In open areas, the projections from the demon realm became clearer. Xia Ying sometimes saw flocks of goat-men with curved horns migrating, raising dust as they went. Sometimes she saw trolls standing up in the distance, holding guns and shields. When she occasionally turned her gaze to the sea, she even saw beautiful sea monsters in the rolling waves.

Xia Ying exclaimed in surprise, "Ah! Charybdis!"

The siren's shadow did not hear her voice, and with a flick of its tail, it leaped back into the sea.

Xia Kaiyun asked curiously, "Is that also your friend?"

“That’s right.” Xia Ying slowly withdrew her gaze. “However, he doesn’t recognize me yet.”

Before they knew it, they had reached a deserted coastline.

Xia Kaiyun stopped and stared at the water: "It's coming soon."

Before Xia Ying could ask a question, a swirling eddy suddenly appeared on the water's surface, and a huge, bald, octopus-like monster slowly rose from the sea.

Xia Ying initially thought the monster was also an illusion, but the surging seawater felt so real. The abyssal creature had risen to the surface in an instant and was swinging its tentacles at her and Xia Kaiyun.

It really exists!

The waves crashed and the rocks were easily shattered. Xia Ying activated her magic tool and jumped to a higher place with Xia Kaiyun in her arms.

She put the girl down and drew her sword: "Don't wander off here, I'll go deal with the monster..."

Just as Xia Ying was about to dive down, the turbulence of the sea intensified, and more and more sea monsters emerged from it.

"No, there are too many! Maybe we should run away!"

“No.” Xia Kaiyun shook his head. “They will follow us closely and may even invade the city, causing more deaths.”

“Because of your arrival, we have an even better way,” Xia Kaiyun said to her. “Xia Ying, use time rewind.”

"Backtrack?" Xia Ying asked in surprise. "But what should I do? Kill them all beforehand?"

“No, the appearance of these monsters is a given fact, and nothing we do can prevent it, but we can’t just sit here and wait to die,” Xia Kaiyun said. “You need to go back to the past, find the most powerful helper you know, and change the current situation.”

Helper...the most powerful helper.

Many faces of abyssal creatures flashed through Xia Ying's mind, but if she had to fit the definition of "most powerful," then there was only one choice she could make.

Tartarus, Lord of Demons.

To be honest, Xia Ying felt that this time reversal magic was a bit unreliable, but Xia Kaiyun looked at her with great certainty, so she couldn't help but ask him for confirmation: "Can this really work?"

“In the future I foresee, you have already succeeded.” Xia Kaiyun gently pushed her. “Go, Xia Ying.”

Having received a positive answer, Xia Ying no longer hesitated and activated the time rewind for the second time.

This time, she is going back to a point in time related to the Lord of Demons!

The magic that had already been activated didn't allow her any more time to think. Xia Ying's timeline reversed once again, and this time she fell into a wasteland completely different from the original human world.

Xia Ying patted her pants and stood up, where she saw an extremely eye-catching, towering stone statue in the wasteland.

She looked up at the statue's face, but it was too huge to see the face clearly.

Just then, Xia Ying suddenly heard the rustling of wings. This sound reminded her of the purpose of her journey back in time, so she quickly turned around and called out the name of the six-winged demon flying towards her.

"Lord of Demons!!"

"...You dare to call the priests of the gods by unclean names."

Tartarus, holding a long staff, frowned in displeasure. He folded his white wings and spoke to the gods who served him.

"Arrest this disrespectful person."
