Chapter 26

Chapter 26

After Xiao Ziyu was put down, he could hardly feel the existence of his legs.

Both wrists were rubbed by the shackles and were wet, so they were swollen and painful. The plastic wrap on his body had become tangled in a ball after each fall and had lost its waterproof function. The pool water seeped into his pores, and his limbs were enveloped in cold air.

The water was waist-deep and he couldn't take a single step. He had to be supported by the staff as he staggered to the shore.

"Brother Xiao, have you really never learned acting?" Luo Li used a towel to wipe the blood and dirty water off his face. "I was almost stunned by the scene just now... It was so pitiful. If I were Lin Buwei, I would definitely not be able to do it."

Xiao Ziyu shook his head with a pale face: "Wei Qiao is not pitiful."

"During the previous fight with the Demon Lord, the Medical Immortal had the ability to escape. There's no reason why he would be caught halfway through his escape."

Luo Li opened his mouth wide. "You mean he walked into a trap? What's his intention?"

"A doctor has a kind heart," Xiao Ziyu lowered his eyes, water drops hanging on his wet eyelashes, "Besides, Lin Buwei's 'evil' comes from the suffering he has experienced. If the demon in his heart is removed, there is still room for maneuver."

Luo Li had never read the script, so he nodded, not quite understanding it. Turning around, he saw Yuan Heng coming back from the cave, and hurriedly created an opportunity for his artist to communicate with the boss, "Teacher Yuan, Brother Xiao said that Wei Qiao was willing to be captured by Lin Buwei, what do you think?"

Yuan Heng seemed not to have heard what he said clearly, his eyes fixed on Xiao Ziyu's red, swollen and broken wrist: "The medical team, come over and apply the medicine."

The accompanying doctor of the team rushed over with a medical kit to check the wound, and Yuan Heng answered the previous question: "It is stupid to come back and die when you have a chance to escape."

Xiao Ziyu raised his eyes when he heard the voice, and his clear and cold gaze met Yuan Heng's through the crowd, seeming to be angry and questioning.

Luo Li thought he was unhappy, and hurriedly whispered: "There are a thousand Wei Qiaos among a thousand people. This time it must be President Yuan who misunderstood. I support you."

Fortunately, Xiao Ziyu didn't have the energy or the mind to argue with others. He turned his attention back to his wound and immediately frowned in pain.

They were in this remote mountain wilderness where no one lived. The nanny car couldn't get in and they didn't even have a hair dryer, so keeping warm became a big problem.

Back in the tent, which was just a place to shelter from the wind, Xiao Ziyu took off his wet clothes and dried himself. Luo Li was worried and wanted to come in to help, but he was chased out.

"Brother Xiao, we are both men, there is nothing to be shy about." Luo Li, a male college student, was concerned about the mother of a boy. "If your hands and feet are frozen and numb, you must rub them with medicated oil to warm them up, otherwise you will get frostbite habitually in the future."

Xiao Ziyu didn't say anything. The cave was too damp and cold. After coming out, he actually felt the warm breeze around him. He opened his luggage bag and took out a washed black wool sweater, which belonged to Yuan Heng and was the one he wore on the day he filmed the rain scene. He had forgotten to return it since then.

Xiao Ziyu only had a few thick clothes, so he put on a woolen sweater first while he was naked. After being exhausted, he felt extremely tired and crawled into his sleeping bag. He felt his body was as cold as ice and he had to twist his legs together to barely retain some warmth.

He has finished work for the time being, as the director and camera crew still have some scenes to reshoot. Although the official actors did not appear on stage, Tang Lin was very satisfied with the cave scene. During his break, he went to ask for medicinal wine and two taels of mung bean sauce from a nearby villager, and brought them up in a small porcelain bottle.

When he came back, he saw a stupid guy named Luo Li hanging around outside the tent, so he yelled at him in a hoarse voice, "What are you doing outside? Why don't you come in and help?"

Luo Li felt very wronged: "Brother Xiao wouldn't let me in."

"No, the frozen areas must be rubbed open. The sequelae are no joke." Tang Lin stuffed the medicinal wine and mung bean soup into Luo Li's hands and hurried to shoot the next scene. "This mung bean soup is brewed by the villagers themselves. It has a strong aftertaste. One sip can warm your body."

Luo Li was struggling when a cold voice came from behind him: "Give it to me."

He turned around, as if he had been pardoned: "Mr. Yuan."

Yuan Heng took the thing from his hand. He had a fight scene to shoot in the afternoon, so he didn't remove his makeup or his hair. He just took off his black outer robe, revealing the dark red lining. Still, it feels oppressive.

Luo Li said weakly: "Brother Xiao said not to let in..."

Yuan Heng glanced at him, then lifted the door curtain and went in.

Luo Li was left with only a mumbling attempt to excuse himself: "Well, they didn't say they wouldn't let me in, but they didn't say they wouldn't let Mr. Yuan in."

As soon as Yuan Heng entered the tent, he saw two sleeping bags neatly placed side by side. One of them was slightly bulging, and it could be seen that the person inside was in a very awkward posture. He walked to the end of the sleeping bag and stopped, patting the soles of his feet: "Get up, rub the medicinal wine first."

Xiao Ziyu hated bosses who had no sense of propriety, but he couldn't just kick them out: "Leave it there, I'll do it myself."

He was so tired that he couldn't fall asleep and didn't want to move at all.

The next second, Yuan Heng opened the zipper at the bottom of the sleeping bag, and as the cool breeze blew in, one of Xiao Ziyu's feet was caught by someone.

He kicked tentatively but couldn't break free, and then another large hand covered in medicated oil reached out and held his as well.

"Don't be willful." Yuan Heng's voice was low and hoarse, with a hint of impatience.

Xiao Ziyu was stunned for a moment, and immediately became speechless. The toes that had been numb for a long time gradually regained consciousness in Yuan Heng's hands. It was hard to describe what that feeling was like. It felt like there were millions of ants gnawing at the flesh and blood, and the pain and numbness were mixed with an indescribable itching.

He clutched the sleeping bag tightly beneath him, his chin slightly tilted back, his jawline tense. He felt as if his frozen flesh and blood were about to be crushed by Yuan Heng's big hands, and the gripping feeling was driving him crazy.

Xiao Ziyu was in so much pain that he didn't know what to do, but he couldn't cry out for the sake of his image. The small porcelain bottle next to Yuan Heng smelled of wine, and he didn't care about that. He pulled the cork and took a sip.

He seldom drank alcohol in the Daliang Dynasty. A few days after coming to modern society, he first passed out after drinking red wine, and then was sent directly to the hospital after drinking white wine. He inevitably developed a fear of alcohol. But I couldn't care less about all that at the moment. After eating two mouthfuls of mung beans, the hot taste seemed to light a fire in my body, which instantly started burning.

Xiao Ziyu didn't care about the pain. He stuck out his tongue because of the spiciness and tears welled up in his eyes.

Yuan Heng's palms kept moving, and he secretly cursed himself for being useless. There are so many artists in the company who were injured while filming, but this one was singled out for special care, which can only imply that he is engaged and is just fulfilling his obligations as a husband.

The stiff and cold skin was gradually rubbed until it became warm and soft. Under the effect of the medicinal oil, the blocked capillaries became active and a little blood color finally appeared on the soles of the feet.

With the combined effect of the medicated oil and alcohol, the pain gradually faded away. Xiao Ziyu reached out and scratched his calf, feeling so itchy that he felt uneasy.

"Don't move." Yuan Heng slapped his hand away. The skin was fragile at the time when it was alternately hot and cold. If it was scratched at this time, it would easily break the skin and leave scars.

Xiao Ziyu was very unhappy about being interrupted, but his attitude showed that he was used to being served. He crossed his legs and let Yuan Heng serve him without any restraint. He poked Yuan Heng's shoulder with his index finger: "Did I perform well today?"

"It's okay." Yuan Heng answered subconsciously, and only then realized something was wrong. He looked up and met a pair of sparkling eyes. The two taels of mung bean paste in the small porcelain bottle were almost gone.

He had a bad feeling, because the wine brewed by the villagers using traditional methods was very strong, almost like pure wine. One sip is enough to warm you up, but drinking the whole bottle is just nonsense.

He thought of the man who had just been hospitalized for stomach cramps, and he couldn't help but get nervous, "Does your stomach hurt?"

Xiao Ziyu shook his head, felt it carefully, and then concluded: "Hot."

If you are not hot, who will be hot? Yuan Heng pulled him out of the sleeping bag and discovered that the woolen sweater on Xiao Ziyu was his. What was even worse was that this man was only wearing a pair of underwear. He finally found trousers at the bottom of the suitcase, but Xiao Ziyu probably didn't want to bother with it and simply gave up wearing them.

His self-care ability was almost zero and he refused to allow anyone to help him. Yuan Heng grabbed his slender waist and helped him put on his trousers, then slapped his round butt.

"Why did you hit me?" Xiao Ziyu complained dissatisfiedly, but he didn't have much strength to resist, so he reached out and rubbed his back. Yuan Heng suddenly felt his blood boiling, and he seemed to be infected with the heat as well.

In order to avoid any problems, he decided to let Xiao Ziyu sober up first. After dressing him, he asked, "Are you okay on your own?"

Xiao Ziyu didn't quite understand what Yuan Heng meant, but nodded anyway.

Yuan Heng wiped the remaining medicinal oil on his hands and stood up without hesitation, but was stopped by someone when he reached the door.

Xiao Ziyu looked at him with a burning gaze, his eyes clear: "Wei Qiao is not stupid, nor does he overestimate his own abilities."

Yuan Heng stood still, took a deep breath, and flexed his fingers slightly: "What do you want to express?"

Xiao Ziyu sighed and said softly, "He deliberately returned to Lin Buwei because he thought the Demon Lord could still be saved. Only by solving Lin Buwei's inner demon can we stop him from hurting more people."

"No." Yuan Heng interrupted him abruptly, "He should go back to help Deng Feng and kill the devil before he does evil, so as not to raise a tiger to cause trouble."

A trace of pity flashed across Xiao Ziyu's eyes, and his gaze was distant and blurred, as if he was carrying the shadow of Wei Qiao, and seemed to be trapped in some unspeakable memories: "He is kind by nature..."

"Who are you talking about?" Yuan Heng suddenly opened his eyes wide, staring at him with a hawk-like gaze, "Xiao Ziyu, who are you talking about?"

Xiao Ziyu did not answer, as if he was haunted by something. He looked at him quietly, his eyes clear and bright. After a while, a tear rolled down from the corner of his eye.

Yuan Heng's pupils shrank, and he lost the courage to ask further questions. Only his breathing became heavier. He lifted the curtain heavily and left quickly.

Xiao Ziyu slept until the afternoon. The sun set in the west, and apart from a slight headache, the bone-chilling coldness had dissipated a lot.

He got out of the tent. Team A had just finished work. Tang Lin saw him and asked loudly, "How do you feel?"

"Much better." Xiao Ziyu said.

"Have you applied the medicinal oil?" Tang Lin was worried. "And the mung bean paste is good for warming the body."

"I've used them all. Thank you, Director Tang." Xiao Ziyu looked at the tip of his nose to hide his unnatural expression. The medicated oil was applied to him by Yuan Heng, but he rushed to drink the mung bean soup. When he woke up, his clothes were intact, and it was obvious that he owed someone a favor again.

"I heard that you were filming today. How did you feel?" Lu Yan appeared from behind Director Tang. He changed his look today, wearing a refreshing light blue armor and a ponytail tied up high, which made him look more youthful.

Xiao Ziyu said modestly: "There are still many areas that need improvement."

Lu Yan laughed, "Director Tang said you acted very well and he used it to teach me a lesson!" He imitated Tang Lin's tone vividly, "Look at what you acted! It's not as natural as Xiao Ziyu, who didn't come from a professional background!"

Tang Lin kicked him from behind: "Is there something wrong with what I said? Look at what you filmed in the first few shots!"

"I'm a popular director," Lu Yan made a face without any hesitation, "My acting skills are a little bit lacking, so I have to rely on your support."

"If you want to transform yourself into a popular star, you need to work on your acting skills," Tang Lin said, "Otherwise, when your popularity has faded, you'll see if there are still fans who will buy into your ideas."

A group of people returned to the camp after playing and laughing. The network was not good in the mountains, and the game was lagging. Lu Yan turned off his phone and read the script attentively. After flipping through half of the thick book, he suddenly sat up straight: "Ah! There are only a few scenes of Wei Qiao left."

Although the actor who plays Wei Qiao is Meng Leyu, because this character has a lot of fighting scenes, Xiao Ziyu was on camera most of the time. After Lu Yan finished his shout, several leading actors and staff members all looked up at Xiao Ziyu.

Meng Leyu's face didn't look good, and he forced a smile and said, "Yes, I'm almost done."

"And Teacher Yuan..." Lu Yan muttered, "Lin Buwei doesn't have much role left."

Yuan Heng was originally a specially-invited actor, so there was no need for him to continue following the crew, except that there was a final battle scene to be filmed. Tang Lin stood up with his lunch box and said, "Yuan Heng will temporarily leave our crew tomorrow."

Several young actors immediately showed disappointed expressions. They had all studied Yuan Heng's films in college. One of them was a masterpiece and had great staying power. If he had not retired midway, this would probably be the beginning of the career that all actors dream of.

"Will Teacher Yuan take on any new roles in the future?" someone couldn't help but ask.

"It's hard to say," Yuan Heng still looked elegant, "I will consider it if I meet a good role and a reliable director in the future."

This sentence praised both the screenwriter and the director. Tang Lin smiled and said, "If this goes on for a few more years, I'm afraid I won't be able to hire you as a teacher anymore."

The focus of filming in the next few days will be the emotional scenes between the male and female protagonists, so Xiao Ziyu will have a short vacation of four or five days. After dinner, Lu Yan brought a small stool to him and said angrily, "Time flies so fast. I haven't had time to learn a few moves from you yet."

Lu Yan was two years older than Xiao Ziyu, and he looked pitiful like a big dog that had been wronged. Xiao Ziyu couldn't help but comfort him, "There will be opportunities in the future. Besides, I haven't finished filming yet, right?"

"Oh!" Lu Yan slapped his thigh. "I wanted to teach you how to play games on the first day we met, but I haven't taught you yet! Take out your phone and I'll download it for you."

Xiao Ziyu actually wasn't very interested in the game he was talking about, but when Lu Yan talked about the game, his emotions were obviously high, so he took out his phone and said, "Then teach me."

Lu Yan downloaded a fancy software for him and taught Xiao Ziyu how to register an account: "Pick a character you like."

Xiao Ziyu chose a character wearing black riding clothes and a red tassel on his head: "This one."

Lu Yan took one look and laughed: "This is a female character!"

Xiao Ziyu was slightly puzzled. These characters were actually all the same. It was indeed difficult to tell the gender just by looking at the clothes and face shape. However, he liked one at first sight and said stubbornly, "Females are also acceptable."

"Okay," Lu Yan rubbed his thighs and became happy again, "Then I'm the male number, we can still get married!"

marry? Xiao Ziyu glanced sideways, unable to accept the overly unrestrained atmosphere in the game: "Marriage matters still need to be considered carefully."

"It's very simple," Lu Yan didn't take it seriously, "We can still get divorced anyway."

"Is divorce okay?" Xiao Ziyu was puzzled. Although the laws of the Daliang Dynasty were sound, marriage was still not decided by humans. Once a woman had worshipped heaven and earth, she could not leave her husband's home without permission. Even if she left, she would lose face and be criticized in the back.

"Of course," Lu Yan looked at him as if he was looking at a primitive man, "Not only in the game, but in real life, it only takes a few minutes to file for divorce."

Xiao Ziyu nodded, thoughtfully.

"Lu Yan, come here and I'll tell you about tomorrow's love scene!" Tang Lin shouted from a distance.

Conditions on the mountain are limited, and it is not possible to have a formal script reading, but Tang Lin will explain the next day's scenes every night to give the actors time to digest them.

After Lu Yan left, Xiao Ziyu had nothing to do, so he controlled the character to move around in the scene, stopping and starting to explore the map. Suddenly, someone approached quietly and sat on the small stool opposite Lu Yan. He was so scared that his fingers trembled and his hand slipped into the ditch.

"Not doing your job properly." Yuan Heng commented lightly.

Xiao Ziyu held his phone and stared at the person in front of him: "Mr. Yuan suddenly appeared and scared people, so he is doing his job?"

Yuan Heng was speechless: "Did Lu Yan teach you?"

Xiao Ziyu closed his mouth and agreed.

Yuan Heng: "You made friends so quickly. And you play games together?"

Xiao Ziyu pursed his lips, and inexplicably heard a hint of displeasure in his tone.

He had a hunch that the Crown Prince was in a bad mood, but he couldn't figure out why. Besides, this guy had rubbed me with medicinal wine in the morning, so I said gently: "Playing games doesn't mean not doing your job properly. Lu Yan is very happy when he plays games."

Xiao Ziyu thought of the other person's eyes shining and found it funny: "Just like a large dog."

Yuan Heng frowned slightly: "Do you like dogs?"

Xiao Ziyu didn't have any preferences, but when he was in the opera theater, he adopted a spotted-headed local dog of no particular breed. The dog was very big and liked to stick out its tongue and let Xiao Ziyu stroke its head. Thinking back to that time, he couldn't help but pursed his lips: "It's okay..."

"Dogs are too loyal and stubborn," Yuan Heng said, not knowing who he was fighting with. "You might as well like cats."

"Li Nu'er?" Xiao Ziyu suddenly called out in a slow voice. His hometown was in the south of Shu, so when he emphasized the words, his tone softened, like a sticky glutinous rice ball rolling down the tip of his tongue.
