Chapter 9: Sneak Out of the House

"Bang!"

Lu Zheng slammed the pen on the table and stood up angrily: "I won't practice anymore!"

Ah Fu coughed: "Young Master, would you like some tea or snacks?"

Lu Zheng crossed his arms and walked around the study room impatiently. Finally, he sat down with a depressed look and asked Ah Fu: "How many more do I have to write?"

Ah Fu counted and whispered: "It's less than thirty..."

Lu Zheng hit his head on the table in dejection. Before he raised his head, he heard a soft voice saying: "Third Uncle, what are you doing?"

Lu Zheng raised his head and looked at Lu Zhiyuan in front of the table. Lu Zhiyuan smiled sweetly.

Lu Zheng jumped up in a hurry, took the snack from her hand in a hurry, and then took her to sit aside, and asked: "Why did you come here alone? Where is my sister-in-law? Where is the maid?"

Lu Zhiyuan answered obediently: "Mother has to settle the accounts today, and the wet nurse and sister Yuli are waiting for me outside. Daddy never allows maids to come into his study."

"Our Bao'er is really amazing, carrying snacks so far!"

Lu Zhiyuan said embarrassedly: "Not... not very far."

Seeing the cute Lolita, Lu Zheng's heart almost melted, and he quickly took out a pair of grasshoppers from his sleeve and handed them to Lu Zhiyuan. He often played with Lu Zhiyuan recently, so he brought some small toys with him. To be honest, he could only relax a little when playing with little Lolita in the whole Duke's Mansion.

Lu Zhiyuan smiled and thanked him.

Lu Zheng thought for a moment and asked, "If I need to go to your mother, is it convenient now?"

Lu Zhiyuan counted on her fingers for a while before nodding and saying, "Mother should be resting now, Uncle San, come back with me."

Lu Zheng immediately took her hand and walked towards the backyard, and turned back to look at Chang Shan and Chang Shui who were following him as a protest.

The two guards looked at each other helplessly. It was impossible for them to enter and leave the backyard, so they could only watch the young master leave their sight in a show of force.

Pei had finished reading the account book and was about to take a break when she heard the maid say that Lu Zheng had arrived. She smiled at the nanny next to her and said, "This kid never comes to see me without a reason. I wonder what he's here to ask of me today?"

Lu Zheng walked in holding Lu Zhiyuan's arm. Lu Zhiyuan smiled and called out "Mom" and threw herself into her mother's arms.

Pei held her daughter in her arms for a while before letting her go down, and then said to Lu Zheng: "Why did the third brother come here today? Tell me, what's the matter?"

Lu Zheng said embarrassedly: "I do have something to trouble my eldest sister-in-law."

"You don't go to your mother-in-law but come to me. It's obviously not an easy thing." Pei said hurriedly, "Tell me first, and I will decide whether to help you."

Lu Zheng told Pei about his eldest brother not allowing him to go out and letting two guards watch him. He didn't say why he didn't go to his mother, and Pei could guess that Yun's personality was firm. Since she handed Lu Zheng to Lu Che, she would never contradict Lu Che even if she spoiled him. In the end, she still had a chance.

Mrs. Pei sighed. Lu Zheng had this extraordinary intuition since he was young. However, no matter his parents or brothers, they only saw his arrogant appearance. On the contrary, she, an outsider, had always seen his ability very clearly. She even suspected more than once that Lu Zheng's stupidity was all pretended. How could such a clear-headed person put himself in such an unbearable situation?

Lu Zheng was still pretending to be wronged: "... The doorman now listens to the orders of my eldest brother. I can't even go out and relax."

Mrs. Pei came back to her senses, smiled and shook her head: "Sorry, third brother, I can't help you with this."

Lu Zheng suddenly widened his eyes in shock, as if he couldn't believe that his eldest sister-in-law was so cruel.

Pei was still as gentle and kind as usual: "Your elder brother cares about you. Once the criminal is arrested and brought to justice, you will be able to go out naturally. Just be patient for a few days."

Leaving Feihong Courtyard, Lu Zheng put away the depression on his face and sighed softly. He came to ask Pei for help just to get rid of Chang Shan Chang Shui, and he also held a little hope that Pei would let him go. Now, although his hope was shattered, he was not too depressed.

Lu Zheng patted the hem of his clothes, then walked into the side yard with his head held high. Several drivers were sitting together drinking tea and chatting. When they saw him coming, their faces changed and they stood up quickly.

Lu Zheng seemed unaware, and pointed his finger and said angrily: "Which manor are you from?"

Several people reported the location of the manor tremblingly. They did not recognize Lu Zheng, but they could see that the man in front of them was dressed richly and was not easy to mess with.

Lu Zheng looked at them with satisfaction, took out a jade pendant from his waist and played with it in his hand: "I have something to buy, who of you will go?"

Several drivers looked at each other, and no one dared to answer.

Lu Zheng's face gradually turned ugly. He poured out a pile of gold and silver coins from his purse and stared at the people in front of him: "Whoever goes to buy, the money will belong to him." Several

drivers had greedy eyes. Lu Zheng added fuel to the fire: "This young master asked you to buy because I think highly of you. Don't be shameless. If you provoke me, believe it or not, I will let my sister-in-law drive you out of the manor!"

The faces of several people changed immediately. Who else can call himself like this in the Duke of Ying's mansion and call Pei his sister-in-law except the third young master of the Lu family? The name of this eldest young master is also heard of in the manor. Some people who want to build a good relationship with this favored young master immediately come forward to recommend themselves. Lu Zheng pointed at the young man standing silently in the corner.

"It's you."

The young man raised his head, looking confused.

Lu Zheng kicked the gold and silver ingots in front of him with his toes: "Take it, go quickly and come back quickly."

The young man took a step and was stopped by a figure. The driver greeted Lu Zheng flatteringly: "Third Master, if you have something to tell me, it's the same. I drive fast, so you don't have to wait here for a long time."

Lu Zheng smiled with interest: "You?"

Seeing that there was a chance, several drivers squeezed in front of him, but they finally remembered the difference between the superior and the inferior, and did not let the gold and silver make them lose their minds.

Lu Zheng smiled: "Okay, you remember, I want to buy the eight-treasure duck from Weiyuanju, the crystal shrimp buns from Dexianlou, the crispy sparrow tongue from Baiweilou..." He read out the names of more than ten dishes in one breath, distributed throughout the city of Yanjing, which made the drivers stunned.

Lu Zheng touched the jade pendant, revealing a spoiled and arrogant expression: "You go together, if the dishes are still hot when you come back, this young master will naturally reward you." As

soon as the voice fell, the drivers immediately mixed together. Not to mention the reward, the identity of the other party, the third young master of the Lu family, made them dare not disobey. If they made this master unhappy, not to mention the drivers, even the manager of the manor would be in trouble.

In the chaos, no one noticed that Lu Zheng took the young man who was standing quietly in the corner away.

Naturally, someone would report the chaos in the side yard to Mrs. Pei. After hearing what Lu Zheng did, Mrs. Pei didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The nanny beside her said with concern: "Is the Third Young Master venting his dissatisfaction with you?" There was a little resentment towards Lu Zheng's vindictiveness in her voice.

Pei shook her head: "He has always been like this, straightforward. It's better for him to express his displeasure than to keep it in his heart."

"But, it's a slap in your face after all..."

Pei didn't say anything. Lu Zheng's behavior surprised her. She had raised this child from childhood to adulthood. His arrogance was always directed at outsiders. Pei absolutely didn't believe that he would do such a thing. She seemed to have guessed a little bit about Lu Zheng's behavior, which made her hesitate for a rare moment.

The nanny was still chattering about Lu Zheng, but she didn't notice that the mistress had already darkened her face. The maid next to her quickly grabbed the nanny.

Pei stroked the bracelet on her hand and said softly, "Since the Third Young Master wants to eat, let them do it quickly. All the food expenses will be recorded in my private account. Since the gold and silver ingots are rewards from the Third Young Master, let them take care of it."

The head maid responded. The nanny wanted to say something, but Pei had already looked away and started to deal with all the trivial matters.

With the approval of the eldest young lady, several carriages drove out of the Duke's Mansion. The guards took a quick look and saw that there was nothing hidden in the carriages, so they let them go. Naturally, they didn't pay attention to the thin driver who was mixed in with them.

About a quarter of an hour later, Chang Shan and Chang Shui came running over anxiously, asked where the carriage was going, and then hurriedly chased after it.

After walking a few hundred meters along the street, they finally saw a carriage parked at the entrance of an alley. Their young master was squatting beside them watching people watering sugar paintings with interest. When he saw them coming, he stood up, patted the dust off the stalls, and naturally stretched out his hand to the two of them: "Hurry up and pay for me." The

two looked at each other, and Chang Shan reluctantly took out his purse to pay. Lu Zheng had already jumped on the carriage with the sugar painting and pointed to the road outside the city: "Let's go."

"Third Master, the eldest master said you are not allowed to go out." Chang Shui advised in vain.

Lu Zheng smiled and said, "Anyway, I've already escaped. You can either knock me out and take me back, or just follow me obediently and don't say any nonsense."

Chang Shui wanted to say something, but his brother Changshan grabbed his sleeve. Changshan's kung fu was not as good as his brother's, but he was much more mature in dealing with people. Although Lu Zheng's tone was gentle, it couldn't cover up his tough attitude. He was not only asking about the present, but also about their future choices. He wanted guards who were loyal to him, not those from the Duke of Ying's Mansion.

Changshan saw it clearly and was secretly surprised in his heart. He was a guard who was sent after Lu Zheng was injured. He didn't know what the original owner's personality was like. He just thought that the rumors were not credible. The young master didn't look stupid at all.

Lu Zheng was relieved to see the two guards give in. He ran out to be angry with his elder brother, but more importantly, he was interested in the case. Although he didn't want to die wherever he went like a certain death god, the case in front of him aroused his curiosity. How could he not be scratching his head? As for Jian Yu, he had already thrown it away.
