The French Empire.
Louvre.
Louis XIV's grand office.
Bonaparte was standing there.
The Pope is next to him.
Louis XIV dipped a quill pen into the ink and quickly signed his name on several documents.
After signing, Louis XIV took out his personal seal and stamped it below the signature on each document.
After everything was finished, Louis XIV slowly raised his head.
He glanced at the Pope beside him: "Your Holiness, Bonaparte has proposed to continue the military campaign against the Rakshasa Kingdom. What is your opinion on this?"
The Pope glanced at Bonaparte, then at Louis XIV: "Your Majesty, in our view, the Russians are evil heretics. The only thing we can do with them is to exterminate them."
Bonaparte breathed a long sigh of relief upon hearing this: "His Holiness the Pope is right. The Rakshasa people are a group of heretics. They are not worthy of such a vast land. The entire Rakshasa Kingdom is rich in resources and minerals."
Such land should be given to us.
“Please sit down, everyone. I’ll have lunch prepared. We’ll eat and talk today.” Louis XIV stood up. “Bonaparte, several of you have been to Russia. I’d like to learn more about it.”
...
Half an hour later.
Lunch was held in the Louvre’s back garden.
"Gentlemen, I propose we first raise a glass to His Majesty and the Pope." Bonaparte raised his glass high and stood up.
Everyone was holding a glass of red wine.
Soon, the wine glasses clinked together softly, producing a crisp sound.
Everyone took a small sip of red wine before slowly sitting down.
The palace maids quickly stepped forward, took the knife and fork, and helped them cut the steak and foie gras.
“Your Majesty,” Bonaparte said with a smile, after putting a piece of steak in his mouth and chewing it, “I think now is the best time to attack the Rakshasa Kingdom.”
"Bonaparte, is it true that you set fire to St. Petersburg before you came?" Louis XIV asked.
Bonaparte nodded: "A man from the Great Xia Dynasty led a large army on a distant expedition to the Luosha Kingdom."
As a result, this campaign led to the complete annihilation of the military forces on both sides.
Moreover, the Rakshasa Kingdom mobilized an army of over a million serfs.
"No, Your Majesty, the Rakshasa Kingdom has mobilized two to three million serfs as an army."
"These two to three million serf soldiers took up arms and fought against the people of the Great Xia Dynasty."
"As a result, they were wiped out in this battle, and both sides lost all their military strength."
"The garrison in St. Petersburg numbers less than five thousand."
"This is a good time for us to attack."
The cardinal glanced at Bonaparte: "What about the 200,000 troops we sent? Surely a massive army can't take over this deserted St. Petersburg?"
Bonaparte trembled instantly upon hearing this.
However, the guy quickly calmed down.
"Your Excellency, Your Majesty the King, we fought against the armies of both sides once, and that battle resulted in significant losses for us."
But we also annihilated more than half of their forces?
"Later, while they were fighting amongst themselves, we entered St. Petersburg, but suffered heavy losses again."
The cardinal and Louis XIV exchanged glances, then looked at Bonaparte and his two companions.
Louis XIV always felt that Bonaparte was lying.
However, news came back from spies in St. Petersburg.
Bonaparte doesn't seem to be lying.
"Bonaparte... do you mean we need to send troops again to retake St. Petersburg?"
Bonaparte nodded.
Victor and Harvey both nodded at the same time.
"So how many troops do you think we should send this time?"
“An army of 200,000.” Bonaparte held up two fingers without hesitation.
"Doesn't the Russian Empire already have very few troops? What do they need 200,000 for?" Louis XIV's expression instantly became unnatural.
The guy even forgot to put the steak stuck in his fork into his mouth.
The cardinal frowned as well: "200,000 troops is no small number. Since you have already said that the main force of the Luocha Kingdom has been wiped out."
Even their serf army had more than 2 million wiped out.
They certainly cannot stop their will from effectively resisting in a short time.
Bonaparte put down his knife and fork, picked up a glass of wine, and stood up with a smile.
He walked behind Louis XIV.
"Your Majesty, please forgive my bluntness, but now all nations know that the Rakshasa Kingdom is a piece of fat meat."
This country has vast lands, abundant mineral resources, and a variety of grains.
Everyone present nodded after hearing this.
"We are not only facing the soldiers of the Rakshasa Kingdom, but also the armies that the major empires are sending out."
"The number of troops they sent out must be quite large."
"We must seize the initiative while also deploying our forces to guard various locations."
Louis XIV: "If that's the case, 200,000 troops are simply not enough."
"I think I'll give you another 300,000 troops. However, these 300,000 troops are just reserve soldiers. Their combat strength is not strong, but they will be divided into groups to guard each place."
They were in charge of the robbery; I reckon they were quite capable.
"Thank you for your trust, Your Majesty." Bonaparte was overjoyed when he heard that Louis XIV was going to give him an army of 500,000.
