Chapter 22 Weaving Bamboo Baskets

"Ah?" Yu Wanwan was stunned for a moment. The man had been taken out of the cave by the witch doctor. He turned into a beast and motioned Yu Wanwan to sit on it quickly.

Thinking of what Yu Wanwan described, the witch doctor's mind emerged the scene of himself carrying a basket on his back, picking herbs quickly in the woods, and holding the novel bamboo basket, receiving envious eyes from the tribe. He became more and more excited, scratching the ground with his claws, and he wished he could take Yu Wanwan to the back mountain to weave bamboo baskets.

Seeing the witch doctor's appearance, Yu Wanwan was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

She really didn't expect that she just said it casually, but the witch doctor acted so decisively and wanted to take her there immediately.

Now the rain had stopped and the snow had melted a lot. The witch doctor's excited look made it difficult for her to refuse, so she climbed onto the tiger's back.

Anyway, just go and take a look first, and if it’s not there, just come back.

Yu Wanwan thought so.

The back mountain that the witch doctor mentioned was actually a small hill. Because it had just rained, the air was full of moisture, and some places on the grass were covered with white snow. The green was lush, the white was pure, and it looked exceptionally beautiful.

Yu Wanwan sat on the back of the witch doctor who had transformed into a beast, and saw a green bamboo forest from a distance. Occasionally, a breeze blew, bringing a rustling sound.

In this cold winter, other trees have no leaves, only bamboo and grass are still green and resistant to the cold.

"That's right, that's it!" Yu Wanwan patted the tiger's back excitedly.

The tiger roared and walked faster.

The witch doctor squatted down and let Yu Wanwan get off his back.

Fortunately, the witch doctor's beast form was not as tall as Bai Jing, so Yu Wanwan came down smoothly.

Yu Wanwan couldn't hide her excitement as she stroked the hard trunk of the bamboo.

Bamboo is a treasure from head to toe. With this bamboo forest, we can eat bamboo shoots in spring, eat bamboo rice, weave bamboo baskets, and even weave mats!

Thinking of this, Yu Wanwan felt happy.

The witch doctor looked at these tall and thin hollow logs and couldn't imagine how to turn them into bamboo baskets.

"Grandpa witch doctor, can you help me cut down this bamboo?" Yu Wanwan asked.

The witch doctor nodded, and his nails turned into tiger claws. He placed them on the bamboo and began to cut the bamboo bit by bit like a sickle.

Yu Wanwan scratched her head, feeling a little strange.

Why does it seem like cutting tofu to Bo Jing cut stone, while the witch doctor seems to have such a hard time cutting bamboo? Is it because of age and a decline in strength?

After a while, the bamboo was almost cut. The bamboo body could not bear the gravity and fell to the side with a snap.

Yu Wanwan was afraid of being hit, so she quickly hid to the side, but the witch doctor stood further away from her.

"Grandpa Witch Doctor, why are you standing so far away?"

The witch doctor gave Yu Wanwan an embarrassed look, his eyes filled with awe for nature: "It's not easy for this hollow tree to grow this tall. I broke it, and if I don't stay away, I'm afraid I'll get hit."

Are you really that scared? Even if it gets hit, wouldn't an orc with such a strong physique be able to just wave his hand and throw the bamboo aside?

As Yu Wanwan thought about this, the image of Bai Jing carrying bamboo with one hand appeared in her mind, and she couldn't help laughing.

Yu Wanwan knocked on the fallen bamboo with a "dong dong dong" sound.

Not bad, it is quite sturdy. When the time comes, after polishing it, it can be used as a teapot or cup.

Yu Wanwan looked around and picked out a few tall and strong-looking bamboos. She said to the witch doctor, "Grandpa witch doctor, let's just carry these bamboos back today!"

She said it so easily that the witch doctor twisted his foot and stumbled, saying, "Little female, I'm so old and weak, I can't even cut so many bamboos, how can I carry them back?"

The witch doctor felt his claws were about to break when he was cutting the bamboo just now. If he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the females, he would have given up. He had finally cut the bamboo and preserved his male dignity. Now he had to continue cutting and carry it back...

The witch doctor suddenly imagined himself carrying a lot of bamboo, then his tongue stuck out, his eyes rolled back, and he died of exhaustion on the road.

"Huh?" Yu Wanwan was stunned for a moment, feeling even more puzzled. "But Bai Jing cutting stones is so easy. I thought everyone was the same..."

The witch doctor snorted, his tone full of envy: "Bai Jing must have awakened the power of atavism, and his strength has increased. Otherwise, how could he have cut such a hard stone so easily?"

The orcs who can revert to their ancestral state are picked from among a hundred. Besides finding a partner and having cubs, the most important thing in an orc's life is whether he can obtain the power of reversion on the day he reaches adulthood.

I didn't expect that Bai Jing had obtained such a great power of atavism, but he had kept it a secret so well for so long since he became an adult.

However, thinking about the rule in the tribe and looking at the gentle, beautiful and intelligent female in front of him, the witch doctor now felt that Bai Jing's original choice was right.

Nana's appearance is considered good in the tribe, but compared with the little female in front of her, it is really... horrible.

Since I can't bring the bamboo back with me, I'll just have to try weaving bamboo baskets here.

The witch doctor was asked to cut the bamboo into thin slices along the direction of the bamboo fibers. The witch doctor felt that this was much easier and he cut a lot of bamboo in a short time.

Yu Wanwan tried to weave the bamboo strips together. When the bottom of the bamboo basket was big enough, she slowly bent the bamboo strips and weaved them.

However, the bamboo in the animal world didn't seem to be very tough. If Yu Wanwan bent it a little more, it would crack with a snap.

Yu Wanwan had no choice but to reduce the degree of bending as much as possible. When the weaving reached a certain height, Yu Wanwan looked at the finished product. It didn't look like a basket that could be carried on the back, but more like a winnowing basket used for drying clothes.
