Chapter 13 Magical Pink Fruit

Bai Jing picked up the pink fruit, broke off a piece and put it in his mouth. After making sure there was no problem, he threw the fruit into the fire to roast.

While collecting firewood just now, Bai Jing also killed a small wild animal that was hibernating. He skinned and cleaned it, dipped it in chili peppers, and roasted it on the fire.

The peeled skin is placed in a rattan bag, ready to be taken back for tanning tomorrow.

When the skin of the pink fruit turned black, Bai Jing took them out of the fire and wiped the skin clean. Yu Wanwan was surprised to find that the shell of the pink fruit was still hard and not damaged at all.

Yu Wanwan looked at the pink fruit and suddenly an idea popped up in her head, but she didn't have the conditions to do it at the moment, so she could only go back and experiment.

She simply made a pair of small chopsticks. After being baked, the pink fruit looked hard, but it was actually very fragile and could be easily broken off into a piece. Even someone as strong as Yu Wanwan could easily crush it.

Yu Wanwan tasted the powdered fruit, but spat it out after just a few bites.

It tastes bland, like a mouthful of flour.

She finally understood why this pink fruit was called pink fruit even though it didn't look pink at all!

It has no flavor and tastes dry, no wonder females don't like it.

Seeing her expression, Bai Jing couldn't help laughing and handed the barbecue to her: "Let's eat barbecue. This one is not tasty. We won't eat it."

As he was about to throw away the pink fruit, Yu Wanwan quickly stopped him: "Wait, let's go back and study it. This tastes very similar to something I used to eat."

Yu Wanwan made a solemn promise.

Seeing that the little female had spoken, Bai Jing gave up the idea of throwing it away.

For this meal, Yu Wanwan had barbecue.

Late at night, everything is quiet.

Bai Jing turned into a tiger, and Yu Wanwan lay in his arms wrapped in a fur blanket, with the fire providing light and warmth.

In the darkness, there seemed to be several pairs of pale green eyes swaying, but due to the powerful strength of the White Tiger, they never dared to take a step forward.

At dawn the next day, the two continued on their journey. In order to take care of Yu Wanwan, Baihu had to slow down.

In the afternoon, Bai Jing specially brought Wanwan to the forest where they were originally.

He met Yu Wanwan in the center of Qingwan Forest. This place looked ordinary, and in fact it was really ordinary.

Yu Wanwan slid down the tiger's tail and looked around.

She couldn't remember the exact location, but after walking around several times, she couldn't find a door or a hole.

Could it be that it grew into the ground?

Yu Wanwan didn't believe it.

She picked up a wooden stick, found a similar place and started digging. Bai Jing didn't understand why, but he still turned into a beast and followed her to dig.

After doing this for a while, a big hole was dug out in the snow, but there was still no sign of a door.

Yu Wanwan couldn't help feeling frustrated and threw the stick aside in anger.

"Wanwan, don't worry too much. I'll bring you over here in a few days. We'll always find a way to go back." It would have been fine if Bai Jing didn't comfort her, but as soon as he did, Yu Wanwan wanted to cry even more.

My eyes felt sore and hot, and tears instantly filled them.

I even asked without thinking: "Will you really help me? Don't you want me to stay?"

After these words were spoken, both of them fell silent.

Yu Wanwan was a little scared, wondering if Bai Jing would lock her up and abuse her because he wouldn't let her leave.

After a long while, Bai Jing finally sighed and gently kissed away the tears on Yu Wanwan's face. His voice was gentle and pleasant: "Of course I hope you stay, but I don't want you to be unhappy even more."

The warm and soft lips lingered on Yu Wanwan's face. Yu Wanwan stood there in a daze, forgetting even to cry. Her eyes, just washed by tears, became even brighter and more moving. When she looked at you, it seemed as if there were thousands of words in her eyes, and she wanted to welcome you but couldn't.

Bai Jing's lips are just like his feelings, hot but not scalding, and he always puts you first in everything.

"Maybe it's because everything looks alike in the snow. Wait until the snow melts and I'll help you look for it, okay?"

His words were light and gentle, as gentle as fine silk threads, filling the emptiness and fear in your heart all the time. Yu Wanwan was calmed down almost instantly.

Unable to find the way home, she thought she would be completely sad and panicked, but the fact was that Bai Jing fished her heart out of the sour water, held it in his arms, and cared for it carefully.

If she really couldn't go back, Yu Wanwan thought, she would definitely marry Bai Jing without hesitation.

When they got home, it was already dark. After a day of running around, they were tired. After a quick wash, they lay down in the grass nest and fell asleep.

The next day, Yu Wanwan got up early and started the experiment.

She and Bai Jing found a lot of mud and stones by the river, brought them back to the cave, and built a small stove.

Yu Wanwan picked the largest pink fruit, cut it open, dug out the white flesh inside, leaving only the smooth and hard shell.

This pink fruit looks very much like a walnut, and its oval shape makes it perfect to be used as a pot on the stove.

Bai Jing threw a few small pink fruits into the fire, and after they were roasted, he took them out, cut them open, ground the flesh into powder, and put it into the other half of the walnut-like pink fruit pot.

Yu Wanwan added some clean water into it, and the powder formed clumps when it came into contact with water, gradually becoming the familiar appearance in Yu Wanwan's memory.

"Bai Jing, come and help me." Yu Wanwan pulled Bai Jing over and pointed at the ball of flour and said, "Keep kneading it, and then cover it up after a while."

Although he was puzzled, Bai Jing helped Yu Wanwan knead the dough without saying a word.
