Chapter 8 Let's just throw this char siu son away 2

No one spoke; an awkward silence filled the living room.

Mo Ningyu's smile froze for a moment, and she looked at Song Hui with a pitiful expression.

Song Hui frowned, glancing disapprovingly at Zhang Yufen and Sisi, whose faces were pale: "Song Si, don't you know how to greet people when they come to your house? Have you lost all your manners?"

Sisi kept her head down, not daring to look at Mo Ningyu, and cold sweat had already appeared on her forehead.

Qi An held Sisi's hand and said awkwardly, "Don't be afraid, I... my mother is here."

Ata chuckled to herself; the Demon King was feeling a little awkward being a mother for the first time.

"Keep your voice down, you're scaring my daughter."

Song Hui's face darkened even more. What was wrong with his mother today? She had never ever lost face before.

She glared at Song Si, certain that Song Si had been meddling and had spoken ill of her to her mother.

Mo Ningyu grabbed Song Hui's sleeve and shook it, whispering in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear, "Brother Song Hui, Auntie and my sister don't seem to like me. Did I do something wrong?"

As she spoke, her eyes reddened, which broke Song Hui's heart.

"No, that's not true. My sister is sick, you don't need to worry about her. My mom likes you a lot... her..."

"Who are you calling sick?" Qi An interrupted.

"I hate these innocent, pure white lotuses the most. They come up to me and act all innocent. I feel disgusted just looking at them."

Mo Ningyu's eyes were red, and her face was red too. This time, she wasn't faking it; she was genuinely angry.

What's going on? Why is this old woman so mean? Didn't Song Hui say his mother was very kind and gentle?

Song Hui was furious: "Mom, what nonsense are you talking about? Ning Yu is a good girl, and I won't allow you to say such things about her."

Mo Ningyu held his hand, her innocent doe eyes brimming with tears, threatening to fall: "Brother Song Hui, don't take your anger out on Auntie. It's my fault, it's all my fault. I'm not good enough for you."

Song Hui hugged her tenderly: "No, I won't allow you to say that about yourself. In my heart, you are the best."

Ata shuddered: "Qi An, I feel a little unwell."

Qi An: "Congratulations, it means you're a normal person."

Sisi watched the two hug each other, her face growing paler and paler. How could her brother's girlfriend be Mo Ningning?

She recalled that dark and hopeless time, and unconsciously hugged herself tightly, adopting a defensive posture, as if a fist would fall on her at any moment.

Song Hui released Mo Ningyu and continued to defend her: "Mom, Ningyu is a good girl. Although she works in a bar, she is virtuous and never does anything improper. I pursued her and she finally agreed after a lot of effort."

He picked up the supplements in his hand: "She spent several months' salary to buy you supplements just to see you, how can you say that about her?"

Mo Ningyu took the tonic and walked up to Qi An: "Auntie, you've really misunderstood me, I..."

As she got closer, Sisi's body began to tremble slightly.

Qi An noticed Sisi's fear, got up and slapped her. Mo Ningyu was caught off guard and fell to the ground.

"Trying to find treasure in a garbage dump? Look at you, so capable. If you're after money, that's fine, but pretending to be true love is just vulgar."

Mo Ningyu covered her cheeks, utterly astonished.

She hasn't done anything yet, has she? Why does this woman have such a strong prejudice against her?

Song Hui quickly helped Mo Ningyu up: "Ningyu, are you alright? Let me see, are you hurt?"

Mo Ningyu let go, revealing a bright red five-finger mark on her face, and half of her cheek was swollen.

Song Hui, his face flushed and neck red, roared, "...Mom, are you crazy? How can you hit people like that?"

Qi An slapped him back, and even Sisi was frightened. Her mother always doted on her brother, and this was the first time she had ever hit him.

Qi An sneered: "What a piece of trash, daring to yell at me like that. Since you feel so sorry for her, then go with her."

Song Hui covered his face in disbelief. Was this really his mother?

"Brother Song Hui, are you alright?" Mo Ningyu rushed forward. "Auntie, please don't hit Brother Song Hui. Hit me instead. It's all my fault. He just loves me too much..."

"Slap."

Qi An slapped her again.

Mo Ningyu: "..."

Damn it, I was just saying it to try and win Song Hui's favor; I didn't actually want to get beaten up.

Song Hui snapped out of his daze, pulled Mo Ningyu behind him, and was about to speak when Qi An slapped him.

She was somewhat emotional, feeling sorry for Zhang Yufen.

Don't say he hasn't done anything yet and is innocent. If he were innocent, why would I be here?

Qi An pointed at Sisi and asked, "Mo Ningning, do you recognize who she is?"

Mo Ningyu was stunned when she heard the name "Mo Ningning". Even Song Hui didn't know her real name, so how did this woman know it?

She finally turned her gaze to the girl who had been keeping her head down and hadn't said a word.

Qi An: "Sisi, lift your head. Mom is here. No one will dare to hurt you."

Sisi mustered her courage and looked up at Mo Ningyu.

Her features hadn't changed much since she was a child. Mo Ningyu recognized Sisi and finally understood why Song Hui's mother treated her this way.

Thinking about what she had done to Song Si, she felt guilty and scared. Song Hui was actually Song Si's brother. How unlucky she was! She had finally hooked up with a rich fool, but they ended up meeting on a narrow road.

However, Song Hui doesn't seem to like this younger sister very much, so she still has a chance.

With tears in her eyes and a look of guilt on her face, Mo Ningyu said, "Auntie, Sisi, I'm sorry. It's all my fault for being ignorant when I was little. I know I was wrong, and I apologize to you."

Song Hui was only surprised for a moment before saying, "It's okay, it's just a conflict between children, nothing serious, you don't need to take it to heart."

"Mom, is this why you're targeting Ning Yu? She's already apologized, so let it go."

Sisi looked at Song Hui in disbelief, tears streaming down her face.

Qi An wiped away her tears and said softly, "Sisi, don't cry. Open your eyes and look. There's nothing to be afraid of."

Qi An didn't know how to treat depression, nor how to comfort Sisi; she also couldn't understand human psychological issues.

In her view, if you are bullied, you should bully back; there is no such thing as swallowing your anger.

"Do you want to apologize?" she asked Mo Ningyu.

Mo Ningyu nodded, suppressing her fear: "Yes, I apologize. I'm sorry to Sisi."

Qi An laughed: "That's not how you apologize. Let me teach you."

Qi An kicked her, and Mo Ningyu knelt down in Sisi's direction.

Song Hui came over to try to stop him, but Qi An kicked him several meters away, and he fell to the ground and couldn't get up.

"Do you know what an apology is? You have to go through the same kind of hurt that Sisi suffered before it counts as an apology."

Mo Ningyu's eyes widened in horror. She tried to get up and run away, but Qi An grabbed her hair and pulled her face up.
