The Sishui tribe is not a snake tribe after all. People in the snake tribe are used to carrying backpacks or baskets when they go out, but they can only carry, hold and hug things with their hands.
Jiang Xue originally didn't want to let go of even the taro stems. Although taro leaves are not edible, its stems are also a delicacy.
It’s a pity that the Sishui tribe has no pottery and no cooking oil. Thinking of this, Jiang Xue had to give up.
What a pity!
Seeing them coming back, the patriarch's heart finally settled down.
He came to Jiang Xue on crutches and said, "Xue Wu, did you find the bamboo you wanted?"
Jiang Xue was in a good mood and said, "Thank you for your concern, Patriarch. I found it."
The chief nodded slowly, glanced at the things they brought back, and asked, "Snow Witch, how far is your tribe from here? Do you want me to send someone to help you send it back?"
Jiang Xue paused, then slowly said, "To be honest with you, Chief, our Snake Tribe is indeed quite a distance away from here."
She had teleported all the way here. If she had walked, she really didn't know how many days it would have taken.
According to her previous experience, she only needed one day to teleport, but it took the Bamboo Tribe nearly a month to get here.
After hearing what Jiang Xue said, the clan leader became even more confused and asked, "Then how did you get here?"
Jiang Xue smiled and said, "I am a witch, so I naturally have my own ways."
Since I can't explain so much to them, it's better for me to speak in a more general way.
The clan leader sighed. How could he not hear that Jiang Xue was just trying to fool him?
He looked at the Xiangfei bamboos, then at the taro they were holding. He suddenly felt like he was facing a formidable enemy, and his voice was chilling: "Who asked you to dig these things up? Don't you know they're poisonous?"
When Arnold was asked this, her knees gave way and she collapsed to the ground. She was trembling all over. Before she could say anything, Jiang Xue said, "Chief, I asked them to dig these things up. Don't worry, if anything goes wrong after eating them, I'll take full responsibility."
The tribe leader swallowed his words that were about to scold Arnold and said with a smile, "Since it's the Snow Witch's intention, then it must be correct. But how do we remove their toxicity?"
Jiang Xue chuckled and said, "Of course I have my own way. Please give me a large stone bowl, Chief."
Jiang Xue didn't know what their stone bowls were made of, but since they could carve a bowl out of a piece of stone, their perseverance must be great.
"Go, get a stone bowl for the Snow Witch."
Arnold quickly brought out a stone bowl from the house, and Jiang Xue filled it with some taro. "Arnold, let's go to the river and wash off the dirt before bringing it back to cook."
Arnuo glanced at the clan leader nervously, and after receiving his affirmation, she went to the river with Jiang Xue with a smile on her face.
Jiang Xue always felt very strange about this mysterious tribe.
She knew that this year's drought had forced tribes like the Bamboo Tribe, the Fire Tribe, the Bashan Tribe, and the Yang Tribe to leave their homes due to the drought and water shortage. However, the water level of the river behind the Sishui Tribe had not dropped at all.
Jiang Xue said enviously, "This one in your tribe is really great. During this dry season, many tribes had to abandon their territories due to water shortages, but the water level here is still so high."
Arnold said proudly, "Of course. Our tribe worships the water god. With his blessing, our tribe never lacks water."
Jiang Xue wanted to say something else, but suddenly she heard a Buddhist chant in her ears. She looked around in confusion and asked, "Arnold, did you hear any strange noises just now?"
Arnold held his breath and listened carefully for a while: "No, I didn't hear anything."
All she could hear was the gurgling river, the cheerful whispers of birds in the woods, the rustling of the wind through the treetops, and the low chirping of insects in the grass.
As for the strange sound that Jiang Xue mentioned, she really didn't hear it.
Jiang Xue frowned. How could she come back? Was she hallucinating?
But when she and Arnold entered the river together, and the cold water soaked the backs of her feet, the sound became more obvious.
She was startled and quickly stood up and looked around.
Seeing her move, Arnold's heart tightened and he stood up straight: "Snow Witch, what's wrong? Is there a beast coming?"
The Sishui tribe is located halfway up the mountain. If it weren't for the sturdy houses of the tribe, how could they have lived here for so long?
Jiang Xue shook her head: "Arnold, you really didn't hear any other sounds?"
Arnold shook his head blankly: "Snow Witch, don't scare me, I really didn't hear anything."
Jiang Xue patted her head. Could it be that she was too tired recently?
"Since you didn't hear us, let's quickly wash the taro and take it back to cook for them."
When Jiang Xue picked up a taro and put her hands into the river, a mysterious shadow suddenly appeared in the water and smiled at her.
Jiang Xue was horrified and threw a fireball into the river.
When the red light faded, there was no shadow in the water, only her own reflection.
Arnold, who was next to her and was frightened by her sudden fireball into the water, fell into the river and was looking at her with horror.
Jiang Xue stretched out her hand to her: "Arnold, why did you sit in the river?"
Arnold looked at the hand she extended, as if he wanted to help her but didn't dare.
