Chapter 20 Making Great Moves in the Current Situation

Su Ruyan and her two servants were indeed still waiting at the entrance of the clinic. Qin Chuan returned to the Su residence with the three of them.

As soon as I entered the gate of the Su residence, I saw Ping'er holding a box of something and playing in the snow with another maid.

Upon seeing Qin Chuan and Su Ruyan, Ping'er and the maid bowed.

"Fifth Miss, Fifth Son-in-Law."

“This is Ping’er, my mother’s personal maid,” Su Ruyan said to Qin Chuan, pointing to Ping’er.

Qin Chuan glanced at Ping'er and nodded: "I saw her yesterday."

Ping'er had an oval face and a pink silk scarf tied around her waist. Among the many maids, she was quite beautiful.

"Fifth son-in-law, the green tea you sent is very delicious. By the way, I would like to ask you, what is this face mask for?" Ping'er asked Qin Chuan, holding the box in her hand.

The "green tea" and "face mask" she mentioned were things Qin Chuan originally intended to give to Su Ruxue and Su Ruhua yesterday. In addition, there were Da Hong Pao tea, wild ginseng, and donkey-hide gelatin, which were meant for Madam Yan. Who would have thought that they would look down on them and give them away to the servants?

Ping'er did leave a little for Madam Yan, but the vast majority was distributed to the servants.

Qin Chuan explained how to use the face mask to Ping'er, who suddenly realized, "So that's what it's for! I thought it was something to eat. With this face mask, do I not need to wear makeup anymore?"

"You still need to wear makeup; this mask is just for moisturizing your face," Qin Chuan explained.

Ping'er smiled sweetly: "It has such a good effect, thank you so much, Fifth Son-in-law!"

"It's alright, it's alright. If you want more, just come find me or Miss Wu. I have plenty more here..." Qin Chuan said with a smile.

Ping'er applied the face mask directly to her face and exclaimed, "So refreshing!" which startled Yuan'er and Juan'er. Juan'er said, "It looks like a ghost..."

Ping'er took off her face mask and glared at Juan'er: "You brat, you think you're so smart!"

Intimidated by Ping'er's usual sternness, Juan'er dared not utter another word.

Qin Chuan corrected Ping'er on how to use the face mask, telling her to wash her face first and then apply it for about fifteen minutes for better results.

"So it turns out that Fifth Son-in-law is so knowledgeable about the art of preserving youth! Ping'er has learned a lot!"

Ping'er smiled and curtsied, her previous stern demeanor completely gone. She really could change her mind faster than flipping through a book; her temperament was truly befitting of Madam Yan's personal maid.

After sighing inwardly, Qin Chuan asked Ping'er where the supplies that the servant had brought back from the manor had been placed.

Ping'er said, "They're all in Fifth Miss's room."

Qin Chuan then went to Su Ruyan's room, pointed to a large pile of things including silk, and said to Su Ruyan, "Wife, you are responsible for distributing and handling these things."

Su Ruyan said, both amused and annoyed, "Buying so much stuff all at once, anyone who didn't know better would think you're going to become a peddler!"

Unexpectedly, her casual remark sparked a flash of inspiration in Qin Chuan, as if he had suddenly found a new goal in life.

"My wife, you've reminded me! Doing business! That's right!"

"If we're going to do it, we'll be the richest person in the world!"

"Of course, money alone isn't enough; you also need the gun to protect your wealth!"

"You were right yesterday, we can totally try a rebellion!"

"You know, if I become emperor, you'll be empress... We'll have a bunch of big, healthy boys and little princesses... Hey... Will our princes fight each other for the throne? That's always the kind of thing that happens in these political dramas and palace intrigue shows..."

As he spoke, he suddenly felt a slightly cool and delicate touch on his forehead...

"What's wrong, my wife?"

Su Ruyan's beautiful eyes were filled with doubt. She lowered her slender wrist, then touched her forehead with it and murmured, "I don't have a fever..."

Qin Chuan suddenly realized that his wife thought he was delirious from a fever!

However, these were things he had seriously considered.

“My lady, you are knowledgeable and must know about the affairs of the world. Why don’t you tell me about the affairs of the world and the court?”

Su Ruyan stared at Qin Chuan for a moment, then looked at him again, seemingly unsure of his current mental state.

"My wife, I really want to hear it! Please tell me! In terms of literary talent and knowledge, my wife is the best in the world. My admiration for my wife is like a surging river that never stops, or like the Yellow River overflowing its banks and becoming unstoppable..." Qin Chuan flattered.

Hearing him say that, Su Ruyan smiled helplessly. Good heavens, what husband could be like this? It's both funny and exasperating.

"Very well, since my husband wants to hear it, then I will tell you..."

Qin Chuan smiled inwardly. It seemed that the emotional value he provided had finally worked; his wife appeared to be in a good mood.

"Let's start with the world..."

Su Ruyan spoke gently and calmly, her words were concise and easy to understand.

As expected of a talented woman renowned throughout Jiangnan, after she spoke for half an hour, Qin Chuan finally roughly understood the current situation of the major project.

Meanwhile, the neighboring countries to the north of Daqian were the Xiongnu and Loulan. The Xiongnu were further divided into the Northern Xiongnu and the Southern Xiongnu, and Daqian often fought against the Southern Xiongnu.

To the west of Da Gan are the kingdoms of Da Jiang and Da Yuezhi in the Western Regions. The Western Regions are currently a chaotic area with a total of thirty-six kingdoms of varying sizes. Da Gan often goes to war with the neighboring Da Jiang kingdom.

To the south of Dagan are the sea and small countries like Nanyue, while to the east are the sea and many island nations like Dongyi.

The Eastern Yi states frequently invaded our borders, especially Japan. Japan often organized pirate groups of several thousand people to invade the interior of Daqian, causing war to break out along the coast and making the people suffer greatly.
