Chapter 189 Clan Reunion

The sun is high in the sky.

The huge team is approaching.

The tribesmen walking in the middle of the army saw familiar relatives running towards them. They were so excited that their hands were shaking. They rushed straight past the army and to the front.

It was only then that the uncles and aunts realized that not only Wei Mingyuan but also Wei Mingsheng and other clansmen were there. For a moment, their excitement could not be expressed in simple words.

"Third cousin! Fourth cousin!"

The two sides met.

When relatives meet, they shed tears on the spot.

It is said that men don't shed tears easily, but now everyone present had red eyes, and they held each other's hands tightly, choking with sobs.

The uncles and aunts couldn't imagine how much danger and hardship they had to endure on the way back to their hometown, as the weather was abnormal and there were monsters everywhere.

Wei Mingsheng could no longer control his emotions. His eyes flushed red and his voice trembled, "I'm sorry for all your concern."

Ever since they were informed by the Zhongshan Army that their clan's territory was safe and that the entire Ling County had been stabilized, the group was overwhelmed with great joy and wanted to fly back immediately.

The journey was supposed to take five days, but the group traveled quickly and arrived in Ling County in just two days.

A towering earth wall is being built at the boundary marker between Xinxiang and Lingxian.

The civilians were terrified when they saw the strange army. The soldiers patrolling nearby reacted quickly, using chevaux de frise to stop the people and staring at them vigilantly with weapons raised. Some of them turned around and wanted to rush back to the fort to report the news.

Fortunately, he went to Xinxiang to look for several guards of Zhongshan Army. He met two waves of troops in Xinxiang and returned with them.

Even with the presence of Wei's troops and Zhongshan's army, it took them a while to explain things clearly.

Then he headed straight towards the dock.

From a long distance, the high wall outside the fort appeared in everyone's sight, with a high lookout tower and a mounted crossbow cart on the earth wall, and many figures moving around nearby.

The changes are really huge.

Wei Mingyuan and the others saw their familiar yet strange home. Before they even got close, some of them couldn't help but feel tears welling up in their eyes and choked out, "We're back..."

Wei Ji and Wei Zhongxun received the news.

The two elders suddenly heard the great news and hurried out of the fort with their tribesmen and arrived at the gate of the wall.

When Wei Mingyuan, Wei Mingsheng and the others saw this, they didn't bother to chat with their clansmen anymore. Instead, they brought their families and the clansmen they had saved along the way, walked forward, knelt down in unison, kowtowed, and shouted in unison: "Clan leader!"

He kowtowed to Wei Zhongxun again, "Three clan elders!"

The ceremony is over.

Wei Mingyuan stood up straight, his cold armor gleaming in the blazing sun. He clasped his hands together and saluted the elders again, apologizing, "My nephew is late. I hope you two elders will forgive me."

Wei Ji's emotions fluctuated. He glanced around and saw that the younger generations who had returned were all safe and sound. He stroked his beard with a look of relief on his face, "Good, good, as long as they can come back safely."

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the army standing outside in neat rows, and then glanced at his granddaughter at the back of the crowd without leaving a trace.

In front of everyone, he said nothing.

Wei Mingsheng brought his wife and children with him, and with red eyes, he kowtowed deeply to Wei Zhongxun, "I am unfilial and have caused my father to worry."

When Wei Zhongxun saw his son returning safely with his grandchildren, tears streamed down his face. His lips trembled and he couldn't speak for a long time. After a while, he said, "I'm glad you're back..."

Yang knelt on the ground, anxiously searching for her eldest son in the crowd. She looked for a long time but didn't see anyone. Her face turned pale and her whole body was shaking.

Wei Mingze, who was standing by, noticed that she looked unhappy and quickly said, "Wu Niang arranged for Wei Li to go out and do something, and he hasn't returned yet."

Thinking of Wei He's brothers being there, he added, "The gentlemen are all out and will be back in a few days."

It can be said to be both great sorrow and great joy.

It took Yang a long time to recover after hearing the voice. She patted her chest and said, "I'm glad you're okay..."

After the excitement, the returning tribesmen had no time to greet each other one by one, and were anxiously looking for their relatives.

Wei Mingyuan knelt in the front, and although his expression was normal, he was also worried in his heart.

The Zhongshan army met the messenger in Xinxiang, having learned that someone had spotted the princess in Julu County and had returned with them. However, they knew little about the relationships between the various branches of the Wei clan, only that the fortress was now safe, and were unable to answer their questions.

The soldiers who came to deliver the message also had only a vague understanding of it.

There are thousands of main members of the Wei clan. Except for the group of troops who were first stationed in the clan camp in the southeast, even Chang Ying and his men dare not say that they can distinguish the relationships between the various branches.

The guards were afraid of saying something wrong, so they simply kept silent and said that you would know when you got back.

Wei Ji saw their expressions and his heart was as clear as a mirror.

The sun is shining brightly outside.

There are so many people and soldiers at the door, it is not a place to talk after all.

When he thought of his fourth brother's wife and the younger generations who had passed away, the joy of the reunion was diluted a lot.

Wei Ji couldn't help but sigh deeply and waved his hand, saying, "Everyone, get up first. The epidemic is highly contagious. Let the soldiers check for any wounds first. If there is nothing wrong, go in and settle down first. We can deal with the rest after they are settled."

Since people have returned, it’s not too late to find out about the situation outside later.

He looked at Wei Mingyuan with a complicated expression, "Mingyuan, follow me first."

Truth cannot be hidden. I cannot hide this from anyone, so I have to tell him.

"Yes." Wei Mingyuan stood up and followed the patriarch.

The tribe leader had spoken, and no one dared to disobey. The tribesmen who had just returned stood aside, waiting for their subordinates to inspect them.

Wei Ji glanced at his granddaughter in the crowd and said, "Why don't you come over here and pay your respects to your uncle?"

Wei Xiyin then stepped forward and bowed, "Niece Wei Xiyin, greetings to Third Uncle."
