Chapter 202: Gentlemen (Part 3)

The two brothers were shocked and became nervous.

Wei Da's face turned pale, and his hands holding the tree trunk suddenly tightened. His heart seemed to be grabbed by an invisible hand, and he felt like he was almost suffocating.

There were people everywhere, including yamen soldiers. The two brothers had no guards around them, only the long tasseled spears in their hands were still there.

It is almost impossible to break through the siege.

Wei Da looked solemn and secretly swore that if they were surrounded, he would protect his cousin and escape back even if it meant sacrificing his own life!

However, the situation was not as serious as he thought.

When the young man saw them again, his whole body stiffened. He was stunned for a moment, a hint of shock in his dark eyes, and then he turned his head silently and continued to pick wild persimmons numbly, with no intention of exposing them.

The work downstairs lasted all morning.

Only when everyone was carrying a large pile of food did the yamen soldiers escort the people back.

The young man who did not expose them was very tall. He was walking behind with a bunch of wild persimmons in his arms. When he passed the big tree where they were hiding, he paused, did not look up, and followed the people in front of him away.

The two brothers didn't breathe a sigh of relief until everyone below had left, and leaned against the tree trunk behind them as if exhausted.

Wei He patted his chest, still feeling terrified, "I was almost scared to death."

The same was true for Wei Da. He had originally planned to fight to the death, but who could have expected that there would be a sudden turn of events and he would escape death.

The two survivors were filled with relief. After calming down, they quickly slid down the tree trunk.

Our tracks have been discovered, we must move our position immediately.

"Wait." Wei He noticed something was wrong and stopped his cousin who was about to leave.

Where the young man just passed by, there was a circle drawn on the ground under the tree with the print of his shoe. It didn't seem quite accurate to call it a circle, as it was crooked and looked weird, and there was a point on top of the circle. I had no idea what it meant.

Could it be that the young man wanted to convey some message to them?

But what does this mean?

The two brothers looked at each other, totally confused.

They didn't dare to stay here any longer. The woods behind them were obviously the 'granary' of the survivors nearby. If they went back to put their things down, they might come back at any time.

Wei He and Wei Da hid in the grass, hunched over and moved westward. They encountered a few monsters on the way, and the brothers worked together to deal with them. It was not until they were one mile away from their original hiding place that they discovered a large number of zombies ahead. They came out of the grass, found a dense tree, climbed up and squatted down.

Wei Da was so tired that he sat down against a tree as if he was detached.

They have been relying on wild fruits to fill their stomachs these days. They haven't had a full meal in all these days and now they can clearly feel their physical strength declining.

Although he was hungry all day, his tree-climbing ability gradually improved.

Wei He next to him did the same, lying on the tree trunk and gasping loudly.

Take a break.

Wei He sat up straight, his face full of confusion, "Why didn't that young man report us?"

"Who knows? We can't understand what's written." Wei Da was very grateful to him in his heart, but now the two brothers could not protect themselves and there was nothing they could do.

It's impossible to risk your own life to save others.

But after all, the man saved their lives, and they felt uneasy about leaving without caring about anything. At least they had to figure out what the circles and squares in the young man's painting meant.

For a moment, Wei Da didn't know what to do.

The two idiots discussed for a long time but could not come to any conclusion. They could only lie on the tree and sigh. It would have been better if their brothers or fifth cousin were here.

The sky was getting dark again.

Finally, the two of them unanimously decided to wait until they reunited with their people before finding a way to rescue the young man and asking him what the writing on the ground meant.

A few days later.

Wei He and Wei Da moved slowly westward along the remote area. They had to pay attention not only to the zombies that could pop out at any time, but also to the movements of other people in the county.

During the day, they often saw people walking around looking for survivors, so they didn't dare go out. At night, when zombies were most active, they didn't dare go out either.

Every day I move forward stealthily at a snail's pace.

Several days passed like this, and I was still stranded in Guang'a County, unable to leave.

………

At that time, Wei Lang had already led his troops out of the fort, and three hundred of his men walked into Crow Mountain.

The child was very excited and full of energy. He jumped and skipped through the mountains and ran to the front in a flash, wishing he could reach Julu County immediately.

The three centurions were all guards who had returned from Kyoto. They were very familiar with Erlangjun's temperament and hurriedly jogged with their subordinates to catch up.

But the guards were still pushing the food cart, which, in addition to dry food, also contained a lot of drinking water, some spare protective gear and "Sun True Fire", and they could not move fast in the mountains.

One of the centurions, named Yan, saw Erlangjun jumping up and down, leaping far away and about to run away again. He said, "Erlangjun, do you still remember what the girl said when you came out?"

Wei Lang paused, of course he remembered.

My sister said that we should not act rashly and should listen to the three centurions.

Thinking of this, Wei Lang very reluctantly slowed down his pace, turned around and pouted to defend himself: "I am very obedient. It's you who are too slow. Don't complain to your sister when you go back." Otherwise, he would be punished again. His sister had not had time to deal with the punishment from last time.

Captain Yan nodded and said, "Of course. My subordinates and I can't walk fast, so we're counting on Erlang Jun to lead the way and keep us company."

The child needs to be coaxed.

Wei Lang was indeed happy when he heard this. "Why are you so weak? Okay! I'll lead the way for you."

When he set out again, Erlangjun's speed indeed slowed down a lot, and he looked back from time to time to see if any of his troops had fallen behind, for fear that these "not so powerful" guards would get lost.
