Chapter 320: Looting the City (Part 3)

It was less than two hours until dark.

The army followed orders and did not advance deep into the center of the county town. Instead, they first cleared several streets and alleys near the city gate.

The gentlemen joined the team to kill zombies.

There are still many zombies left in the city, and many of them are trapped in their houses and cannot come out. As a large number of people pour into the city and hear the noise, the dull roars sound from all directions.

Wei Xiyin led several cousins into an alley. The alley was very narrow, with houses on both sides. Blood stains were mottled and lingering on the walls and the ground, like witnesses of countless bloody fights before.

Through a wall, noises could be heard from the yard from time to time.

Wei Xiyin narrowed her eyes slightly and glanced at the sky. "Break in and search every house. Clear these streets as soon as possible before dark."

The situation is more serious than expected. I didn't expect that after so long, there are still so many monsters in the city.

"I understand, sis!"

Wei Lang followed his sister's order and broke into the room. Several young men rushed in with weapons tightly in their hands.

The ground of the mansion was covered with a thick layer of dust. As people walked by, the dust under their feet was crushed, flew up, and filled the air.

The yard was in a dilapidated and deserted state. The steps, eaves, and wooden windows were all covered with dust. The walls were peeling off, and the tiles on the roof were broken and falling, revealing several large holes.

Didn't look at it too much.

Several people went straight to the room where the noise came from.

The moment they opened the door, they were all silent when they saw the scene before them.

Wei Xiyin frowned slightly and saw them standing still at the door and walking towards this side.

The room was empty, furnishings scattered across the floor, a wall had collapsed revealing a large hole, and the remains of wood from the roof were hanging in the air, already rotten, with a fishy and foul smell filling the air.

The inside was in a state of disrepair, with scattered sunlight filtering in through the holes, making the view very bright.

On the wooden bed in the living room.

A zombie child, about three or four years old, was tied up with ropes. His lips were black, his cheeks were sunken, and his eyes were creepily turned upwards. He was covered with a quilt that was so dirty that the color could not be seen. There were large patches of blood stains on the quilt.

Smelling the breath of a living person, the little zombie began to struggle desperately, roaring non-stop.

When the men were transporting grain, the route along the way was almost cleared. Even if they encountered sporadic zombies occasionally, they were almost all adult-sized.

Later in Gaoyi, I encountered swarms of zombies and seldom observed them carefully. As far as I can remember, I have never encountered such small zombies.

The children in the dock looked about the same age, and everyone was stunned for a moment.

"What are you all standing there for!" Wei Xiyin turned her head and shouted in a low voice, "It's getting dark, don't waste time."

The world is in chaos, and there are more than just this one child who died.

Being tied to the bed shows that his parents and family tried to save him when he mutated.

Unfortunately, once infected, no one can save you.

His parents are probably in danger too.

Most people would feel pity when seeing such a small zombie being killed, but at the moment, such emotions are the most useless.

Wei Xiyin understood, and naturally hoped that everyone could understand.

In the current environment, they can only focus on the living.

The gentlemen came to their senses.

Wei Ling followed the instructions of his fifth cousin and walked closer with the long tasseled spear in his hand. Soon, there was no movement in the room.

He followed his father across thousands of miles to return to the clan's land. He had seen all kinds of hellish scenes along the way, so when he faced these weak zombies again, he was no longer afraid.

The cleanup work did not stop because of this little incident.

The alley was not deep and the search was completed quickly.

Wei Xiyin turned to look at the long line of followers following behind her. After a moment of contemplation, she said, "Wei Ling, take a team to search the northeast corner. The rest of you follow me. We'll gather at the city gate after the evening hour."

Wei Ling nodded in agreement, "Okay, Fifth Cousin, please be careful."

He winked at Wei Da, Wei He and the others, and led his brothers to the area where no one was searching.

After a while, apart from a team of Wei family soldiers, only Wei Lang was left here.

Of course Wei Lang has to follow his elder sister!

Wei Xiyin ignored him and quickly broke into the room and cleaned up one by one.

She led a team to a once prosperous street. The shop signs had either fallen to the ground or were hanging tilted, and without exception, they were all covered in dust.

This street is not far from the city gate and is mostly lined with inns and carriage houses. All living things have disappeared. They must have run out of the city, leaving the entire street dead silent.

Wei Xiyin waved her hand, and the Wei family army behind her immediately rushed into the shops and killed the lone zombies.

"Miss, we found a well-preserved wine cellar and a large amount of chopped wood in the inn." A soldier hurried out to report.

Wei Xiyin narrowed her eyes slightly, "No hurry, these supplies can't escape, let's clean up the zombies in the city first."

"yes!"

Tobu Castle is very big.

The 2,500 people were clearing at a fast pace. They were divided into teams of 100 people and dispersed across all areas in the north. It took them less than two hours to search the entire north.

The sky gradually darkened.

Wei Xiyin finished cleaning up the backyard of a shop and came out. She glanced at the sky, assessed the progress, and called the guards, "Order all troops to withdraw outside the city and camp near the city gate for the night."

"Yes!" The guard received the order and sent a small team to notify.

Soldiers brought vehicles and obstacles to block the intersections to prevent the zombies from entering the streets they had cleared.

Wei Xiyin took Wei Lang out of the city first, and then Wei Ling brought his cousins out on time.
