Chapter 41 Xie Ruian

Time goes back to before Wei Xiyin and others set out for the granary.

Changlan Village.

Before setting off, more than 150 people were ready, and the guards pushed the wooden oxen and flowing horses in the fields to the village entrance.

Chang Ying looked unhappy and came over to report: "Excuse me, young lady..."

Seeing Wei Xiyin turn around and glare at him unhappily, Chang Ying was stunned and speechless for a moment.

Fortunately, he reacted immediately.

"My Lord, the Great Master..." He felt that this title was a little difficult to say.

Wei Xiyin nodded in satisfaction and asked, "What's the matter?"

Chang Ying immediately remembered the important matter and took two steps closer to report quietly: "The wooden ox and flowing horse that were placed outside yesterday were moved. The guards saw something was wrong and immediately counted the items and found that two bread cakes were missing."

Wei Xiyin narrowed her eyes slightly, "Are you sure? Only two pancakes are missing?" There are still a lot of protective gear and weapons in the car.

"The things we brought out are all counted, and the daily dry food is distributed according to the number of people. It is impossible to make a mistake." Chang Ying replied.

Upon hearing this, Wei Xiyin glanced towards the village. Now all the zombies in Changlan Village had been cleared out. Apart from the rustling sound of the wind blowing through the leaves, the village was silent and looked deserted.

She asked, "So there are still survivors in Changlan Village?"

He only stole two cakes. Was it because he was considering the guards on duty, or did he just need two cakes?

But right now they still need to go to the granary to get food, and they don't have time to waste here.

Wei Xiyin ordered, "Let's put this matter aside for now. Have the guards leave a few more cakes at the village entrance until we get the food and come back."

However, when they were about to leave, they were stopped by a young man who suddenly appeared.

The boy was thin and skinny, with a sallow complexion, but he showed no fear in front of the crowd.

Without even glancing at the others, he turned to Wei Xiyin and asked directly, "I've been observing you all night. Are you going to rob the granary?"

When Qin Shan heard this, his eyes were filled with murderous intent and he clenched the spear in his right hand.

The child hid in the dark, eavesdropped on the conversation, and even figured out their movements.

Wei Xiyin was a little surprised. She raised her hand to stop Qin Shan and turned her head to look at the thin child in front of her.

He looked young, but his body was covered in dirt, and his original skin color was almost unrecognizable. I didn't know where he found the old clothes, but he put on a large cotton coat, covering his entire body. Only his bright eyes were exposed, glowing with brilliance.

After a while, Wei Xiyin asked, "What does it matter if it's true or not?"

He hid in the dark and only took two cakes. You should know that if he suddenly jumped out like this, he might be silenced.

The young man pursed his lips and said, "I can tell you what's inside the granary, but you have to give me two bags of grain after you get them."

Wei Xiyin was even more surprised. "Do you know the situation of the granary?"

"Yeah, I saw them cleaning up the monsters." The boy said subconsciously, then immediately reacted and stared at her warily, "You tell me whether you agree or not first. I know you're the one in charge here."

Wei Xiyin looked down and saw that the boy had his hands behind his back and his feet were shaking slightly unconsciously.

It seems he is still afraid.

"I can promise you, but you have to answer a question for me first."

Wei Xiyin asked calmly, "First, tell me where you were hiding last night? And how much of our conversation did you eavesdrop on?"

Breaking the granary and transporting grain concerns the entire clan. If the young man has already grasped their identities, they cannot be kept.

The young man didn't know. He pointed to the back of the hut and said, "There's a cellar at the back. I'm hiding there. Your people have been patrolling the area, so I didn't dare get too close to you. I only vaguely heard the word 'granary'."

Wei Xiyin's eyes were indifferent, not knowing whether what he said was true or false, and she turned to look at Cheng Xiu beside her.

Cheng Xiu understood and immediately led two guards to check behind the earthen house.

After a while, Cheng Xiu ran back and reported: "Boss, there is indeed an empty cellar in the back, and there is nothing inside."

Wei Xiyin tapped her fingers lightly and looked at the boy. "Okay, I promise you, as long as the information you provided is true, I will never break my promise after I get the food."

The boy breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that his bet was right.

………

The boy's name is Xie Ruian. According to him, he is a refugee who fled here.

When Xie Ruian arrived here, there was no living person in the village. He had nowhere to go and did not dare to enter the village, so he could only hide in the cellar to rest temporarily.

He originally wanted to rest for a few days and then leave to see if he could find a safe place to stay, but then Wei Xiyin and others arrived, forcing him to continue hiding in the cellar.

Xie Ruian did not want to alarm them at that time. He planned to wait until the people left before going to the village to look for food. However, he did not expect that this group of "bandits" would take away all the food in Changlan Village.

Helplessly, he had to muster up the courage to come out and use the information to exchange food with them. Fortunately, the girl was kind and agreed to his request and did not break her promise.

After receiving the food from the guards, Xie Rui felt much more at ease.

Wei Xiyin and others, however, took a fancy to the cellar where he had been hiding. The cellar was extremely large and empty inside. In addition, it was hidden behind the house, making it an ideal place to store grain.

"Just help us guard the food here. After the food is transported, I will give you two more bags of food." Wei Xiyin said to him.

Xie Ruian pondered her words, his expression changing instantly. He said in shock, "You dare to go to the granary?"

Wei Xiyin raised her eyebrows and said as a matter of course, "Of course, before they come to their senses, we'll strike back and kill them."

This amount of food is totally insufficient.

We originally planned to empty the granary, but now we have confirmed that there are soldiers inside the granary, so the plan has failed and we can only take as much as we can.
