Chapter 2 She unexpectedly became the powerful Ninth Prince

Jiang Xiancao woke up to the lingering fragrance, and felt a faint foreign sensation on her wrist, and her whole body tensed up in an instant.

Shen Tingsi and her five good brothers haven't finished bleeding yet?!

She subconsciously struggled to resist, thinking that she was too weak to cause any trouble. However, she didn't expect that just by slightly raising her arm, the red line on her wrist would be overturned.

The imperial physician who had been checking her pulse with his eyes closed suddenly stood up. Jiang Jinyan, who had been waiting by the bed, was also ecstatic:

"Your Majesty, you are awake!"

Why did Jiang Jinyan call her Prince?

An extremely absurd idea suddenly occurred to Jiang Xiancao. She suddenly lowered her head to check her wrist and saw that there were no scars left by bloodletting. It was completely different from her previous weakness due to malnutrition. Instead, her bones were clearly strong and powerful, with faint blue veins protruding under her fair skin.

She was shocked at first, then she pulled back the quilt and saw herself wearing only a snow-white undershirt but with a slender and strong male body. She shuddered all over and hurriedly got out of bed to find a mirror.

Jiang Jinyan followed her in fear and trepidation:

"If Your Majesty wants anything, just tell me and my servants. How dare I disturb you from leaving in person?"

Jiang Xiancao ignored him and found a rosewood mirror frame in the corner of the bedroom. On it was a small bronze mirror. The slightly yellow mirror surface reflected Shen Tingsi's flawless handsome face.

She unexpectedly became the powerful Ninth Prince.

So, where did the real Shen Tingsi go?

Could it be——

Before she could delve deeper, Jiang Jinyan had already knelt down behind her and said in a deep voice:

"Your Highness, I, Jiang Jinyan, apologize to you."

Jiang Xiancao paused for a moment before slowly turning around.

Seeing her elder brother, who used to be so high and mighty, kneeling at her feet, she felt dazed for a moment.

Jiang Jinyan glanced up and saw that the Ninth Prince had a sullen face and was silent. He quickly said the words he had prepared in advance:

"Your Highness condescended to come to my house to save Zhu'er's life. He is a benefactor of the Jiang family, but I failed to provide him with a proper reception, causing him to be frightened and unconscious in my house. He is guilty of a serious crime. I am willing to take the punishment for the entire house, but I hope you will not vent your anger on the rest of the Jiang family because of my fault. Especially Zhu'er, she blamed herself when she learned that the Prince was unconscious—"

Jiang Xiancao was too lazy to listen to his hypocritical apology. The affectionate "Zhu'er" he called her was like a poisoned whip, hitting her face again and again.

She interrupted coldly:

"How's Jiang Xiancao?"

Jiang Jinyan never expected that he would ask about Jiang Xiancao at this time. He was stunned for a moment before answering:

"Jiang Xiancao was also struck by lightning just now. I had no choice but to interrupt the bloodletting and have my servants send her to recuperate and prepare for the next bloodletting."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xiancao's eyes suddenly darkened.

She was so weak before she fainted that anyone with a discerning eye could see that she had one foot in the grave. But her brother didn't feel sorry for her at all and reluctantly let her rest because he was afraid that if she died, he wouldn't be able to give Jiang Huaizhu a blood transfusion. His cruelty and ruthlessness really opened her eyes again.

If she had not changed her identity, she would have been at their mercy, but now she was the Ninth Prince Shen Tingsi, so naturally she would not allow them to continue trampling on her body.

After weighing it for a moment, Jiang Xiancao curled his lips and sneered, "Don't rush to bleed yet. I suddenly feel that there is something strange about the falling into the water."

Jiang Jinyan frowned, "What do you mean, Your Highness?"

Jiang Xiancao imitated Shen Tingsi's usual tone, and said slowly with his hands behind his back:

"I just want to find out if it's true, as Jiang Xiancao said, that you all just believed Jiang Huaizhu's one-sided story and rushed to convict her without even questioning the servants present."

Jiang Jinyan was startled, and after thinking for a moment, he spoke again:

"The Wenning Marquisate has a clean and upright family tradition. They will never wrongly accuse a good person, nor will they condone evildoers. There was no hidden truth to Zhu'er's drowning. It was just Jiang Xiancao, the culprit, who lied and made excuses. Your Highness is a wise man. You must not be deceived by her."

Jiang Xiancao silently clenched his drooping right hand, digging his nails into his palm, leaving a deep blood mark.

Since her good brother is determined to protect Jiang Huaizhu, she will use this body to tear off the fig leaf of the "clean family tradition" of the Wen Ning Marquis Mansion!

"I have my own judgment on what is wise and what is foolish. It is not the place for a minister to tell me." Jiang Xiancao raised his chin and looked down proudly at Jiang Jinyan who was kneeling on the ground. "Master Jiang, you are overstepping your authority."

Jiang Jinyan was shocked and confused.

Three days ago, Zhu'er fell into the water. The Ninth Prince rushed there and went into the water to save her himself. When he carried Zhu'er up, he heard her trembling words, "It was my sister who pushed me into the water." He became furious. Without the brothers saying a word, he ordered the guards to press Jiang Xiancao into the ice water as punishment. After that, the fourth brother found a recipe for blood transfusion and health care, and he was the first to say that Jiang Xiancao's blood should be used to atone Zhu'er.

How come he has become a different person after being struck by lightning and started to stand up for Jiang Xiancao?

After a long silence, he hesitated and said, "I dare not be presumptuous, but Your Majesty also knows Zhu'er's character. She will never lie..."

Before he could finish his words, Jiang Jinyan was startled by the crisp sound of porcelain shattering on the ground, and swallowed the rest of his words back into his stomach.

Jiang Xiancao retracted the hand that had smashed the vase and squinted at him with cold eyes. His tone was calm but brooked no argument. "The king said that he would thoroughly investigate the drowning incident. Did the eldest young master not understand, or was he deliberately disobeying his orders?"

Jiang Jinyan's scalp tightened and he lowered his head quickly:

"I understand. I will send someone to investigate right away."

"No need to send anyone."

Jiang Xiancao, as the Ninth Prince, gave orders from a high position:

"I want you brothers to investigate personally. Within ten days, I want to see the fingerprinted confessions of everyone present at the time of the crime."
