Chapter 110 Longbow

What does scanning a QR code mean?

Not only did Sun Muchen not understand this question, but even Wang Lan was completely baffled.

How do I scan?

Where should I scan?

What is a code?

Wang Lan shook her head, picked up the notebook again, looked at it carefully, and then said, "Mu Chen, do you think his last words might be that the situation of the mutated animals has been made into a video for future generations to watch, right?"

Sun Muchen was taken aback, then nodded as if he suddenly understood, but then sighed and said, "Alas, if it's as you say, we probably won't be able to see this information. Since it's a video, a computer is definitely needed as a playback tool. As for the so-called QR code, it should be equivalent to a key, but hundreds of years have passed since the anomaly, and these things can't be found anymore."

Wang Lan glanced at the notebook in his hand and said, "The person who wrote this log probably isn't very clever. The anomaly has already occurred, and he even mentioned that all the support forces have been wiped out. He still thought of using video to store information. It would have been better if he had just marked the monsters' weaknesses at the back of the notebook!"

As she spoke, Wang Lan clicked her tongue slightly and casually tossed the notebook aside.

"Don't waste time here. This is something from hundreds of years ago; it can be called a relic. What can we possibly find? Quickly clear out a place to use as a rest area. I'm going out hunting later to see if I can find anything to eat or drink."

"Okay!" Sun Muchen replied, "Then I'll go with you!"

“No need,” Wang Lan shook his head and said, “Someone has to watch the house. Besides, judging from the looks of it, there are mostly insects in this forest. I don’t know if there are any animals. I’ll go alone.”

“No!” Sun Muchen shook his head firmly and said, “I must go with you. Putting aside whether your body can withstand continuous battles, after all, we haven’t stopped to rest properly since we came out of the final fortress. No matter how strong you are, or how powerful your C system’s repair capabilities are, your body has really reached its limit.”

"Secondly, since we're going hunting, we'll inevitably have to go deeper into the forest. It's already dark, and we won't be able to keep our bearings. It would be safer if we went together."

Wang Lan listened to Sun Muchen's analysis, lost in thought.

He suddenly realized that the little sister in front of him seemed to have grown up at some point and was no longer the little girl who could only wait at home and call out, "Brother, you're back."

"Okay, let's go together!"

Wang Lan said solemnly.

Sun Muchen smiled and nodded in satisfaction.

She then turned around, blue light surging between her fingers. With a wave of her hand, the blue light transformed into a gust of wind, blowing the ground in front of her until it was spotless.

Then, with a few taps of his finger, the light enveloped the dust that had been blown up and set it aside.

Thus, a clean space appeared before the two of them.

My little sister has really grown up!

Wang Lan sighed sincerely and nodded unconsciously.

Yu Guangzhong suddenly glanced at the shattered table and broken bottles on the ground.

In the ruins, he noticed a strange object.

It was a long, sturdy, black object, about the length of two fists. The object had distinct edges at both ends, but its middle section was uneven.

The reason this thing caught Wang Lan's attention was that the basement was old, and apart from the glass products which were not easily corroded, most of the other objects were rotten. However, this long, thin object clearly did not look like a glass product. Instead, it gave people a black metallic feel, but it did not look corroded at all.

Wang Lan picked it up curiously, only to find that when she held the long object, her fingers fit perfectly against the undulating surface.

Wang Lan tried to apply force to it, but at that moment he felt the thing suddenly shudder.

Immediately afterwards, two curved metal strips extended from the two ends of the object, bending inwards, and then a white thread popped out from one end and connected to the other end.

Wang Lan was taken aback. He discovered that it was an exceptionally handsome black longbow!

The longbow was jet black yet gleamed with light. The bowstring was taut, and Wang Lan flicked it gently, instantly producing a "humming" sound.

Crisp and ear-piercing!

Wang Lan looked at the handle and saw a slightly raised button above the grip mark. Wang Lan pressed the button, and the bowstring retracted from one end to the other, and the bow arm also retracted.

So the longbow turned into a long black bar again, lying in the palm of my hand like a black box.

Wang Lan shook hands, and with a sudden, forceful grip.

The bow arm popped out, the bowstring connected the two ends, and it transformed back into a black longbow.

"Mu Chen!"

"elder brother!"

When Wang Lan wanted to tell Sun Muchen about the discovery, Sun Muchen also called out to Wang Lan.

Their eyes met.

They both saw surprise in each other's eyes.

Wang Lan held a bow in his left hand.

Sun Muchen was carrying a quiver in his right hand.

The two were taken aback.

They then spoke at the same time.

Where did you get your quiver?

Where did you get your longbow?

They were both taken aback.

Wang Lan pointed to the ground, "Here!"

Sun Muchen pointed behind him, "Over there!"

The two walked toward each other.

They exchanged their equipment.

Wang Lan took the quiver and felt its weight; it was quite substantial. Inside were thirty black arrows. Wang Lan pulled one out and held it in front of him.

The arrow was straight, jet black with a sheen, and the arrowhead was much larger than that of an ordinary sword.

"A fine arrow!"

Sun Muchen took the longbow, only to find that although it looked heavy, it was as light as a feather in her hand. She swung the longbow, and it even produced a whistling sound.

Sun Muchen raised the bow with his left hand, assuming the posture of drawing the bow and shooting an arrow, and then pulled back the bowstring with his right hand before releasing it.

"Buzz!"

The bowstring plucked with extraordinary force!

"A fine bow!"

Sun Muchen sighed sincerely.

Wang Lan also said, "These bows and arrows are so much better than our previous crudely made ones!"

Sun Muchen nodded, but said strangely, "But who could have left this longbow behind? It's been hundreds of years since the mutation, it's impossible for it to still be so well preserved."

Wang Lan didn't know how to answer this question either.

“Perhaps this is the owner of this basement!” he said. “This bow may be made using some kind of technology, which is why it has remained intact for centuries. Come, let me test its power.”

Sun Muchen nodded and handed the longbow to Wang Lan.

Wang Lan took the longbow, nocked the arrow he had just drawn, and aimed the bow at the wall on one side.

He drew the bowstring taut, feeling a powerful force emanating from it, as if it couldn't wait any longer.

Wang Lan took a deep breath and released her right hand.

"Whoosh!"

The black arrow let out a sharp whistle and flew off the bowstring.
