When Lao Zhang suddenly stopped halfway through his speech, the entire laboratory fell silent. Wang Lan heard the faint sound of the tail drooping down.
At the same time, he also noticed the change in Lao Zhang's expression.
Something terrifying must have appeared.
Sun Muchen cautiously raised his head and looked upwards.
"hiss--"
But then he suddenly heard a strange sound, which startled Sun Muchen so much that he trembled and quickly put his hand on the gun at his waist, then slowly pulled it out.

The sound grew louder.
Wang Lan glanced at Sun Muchen out of the corner of her eye, then frowned. Sun Muchen immediately understood and nodded slightly. Wang Lan took a deep breath and gestured to Lao Zhang, signaling him to step back a bit.
Old Zhang paused for a moment. He had already identified it as a crawler by its tail, and he felt that retreating was not a good idea. However, there were only three people in the laboratory at the moment, and Wang Lan was the most capable among them. He finished thinking in a short while.
But just as he lifted his foot to retreat, the hissing sound from above suddenly amplified!
Wang Lan looked up and saw the thing.
They are crawlers!
Its skin and flesh looked as if they had been scorched, a mixture of red and black that appeared rotten and mangled. Its head seemed to contain only a filthy brain, with no facial features visible. When it saw Old Zhang move, the monster's limbs, which were braced against the steel pipes on the roof, suddenly kicked out, and its long tail swung backward at the same time.
Old Zhang was immediately terrified, his scalp tingled, his legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground, cursing inwardly, "Damn Wang Lan, you used me as bait!"
The crawler pounced down.
Wang Lan shouted, "Fire! Fire!"
Sun Muchen pulled the trigger, and bullets sprayed from the muzzle, all landing on the crawler. The crawler's body twisted in mid-air, and its roar suddenly amplified, becoming sharp and piercing.
Wang Lan pushed off with his feet and rushed forward, crashing directly into the crawler and sending it flying.
Unexpectedly, the crawler had a layer of viscous fluid on its body. When the impact hit the crawler, the fluid splattered all over him, turning his whole body into a red and black mess.
"Holy crap!"
Wang Lan cursed loudly.
But then Old Zhang shouted, "Oh no! There are crawlers too!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Wang Lan and Sun Muchen looked up.
Above the canopy, several more crawlers appeared out of nowhere, perched on the steel pipes of the roof, glaring menacingly down below.
"Damn it! Where did all this stuff come from?!"
Wang Lan cursed, and then saw the crawlers roar and pounce down. Wang Lan's pupils contracted immediately, and he quickly looked at Sun Muchen. He saw that Sun Muchen also reacted quickly. The moment the crawlers appeared, he ran towards him with two guns in his hands.
As the infected lunged forward, Sun Muchen pulled the trigger, and the bullets accurately struck the crawler's head, smashing it to pieces. The crawler's flying figure withered in mid-air.
Wang Lan raised the Vajra Umbrella, sending the dead crawler flying, then turned and fell to one side with the two of them in her arms.
The crawlers huddled together and crashed to the ground.
Wang Lan asked Lao Zhang, "Are there any guns in this lab?"
"have!"
"Go find them quickly, I'll hold them off!"
After Wang Lan finished speaking, he got up from the ground. As soon as he turned around, he saw that the crawler had also stood up, and he saw the crawler's head up close.
It felt as if a living brain was pressed against his neck, and where the eyes should have been, two pale white spots suddenly enlarged, accompanied by a sharp roar.
The infected person lunged at him.
Wang Lan was taken aback, realizing that the crawler was much faster on flat ground than when it pounced from above. Before he could react, the crawler closed in, its forelimbs landing on his shoulders, sending him flying and slamming him to the ground.
Countless sharp teeth suddenly emerged from the brain-like head and bit down at Wang Lan.
In an instant, Wang Lan's eyes widened in fury. He hurriedly reached out to press his head down, but the body fluid on the surface of the crawler's body was sticky and slippery, and Wang Lan couldn't hold on at all. Seeing the sharp teeth falling down, Wang Lan could only tilt his head to the side, and the crawler bit down on Wang Lan's shoulder.
A piercing pain instantly struck, causing Wang Lan's entire body to tremble. This pain immediately enraged Wang Lan, as if all the emotions he had felt since the Eternal Night had been transformed into rage at this moment.
Wang Lan gritted his teeth and punched the crawler in the head. The powerful force caused Wang Lan's fist to penetrate the crawler's skull. A cold sensation enveloped Wang Lan's fist, and black blood spurted out, splattering on Wang Lan's face. The crawler then went limp.
Wang Lan grabbed his head and pushed him aside, then pulled out his fist and saw Sun Muchen and Lao Zhang being relentlessly chased by the other crawlers.
Seeing that the crawlers were about to catch up with the two, Wang Lan's eyes widened in anger. He found the location of the Vajra Umbrella and rushed over. He picked up the Vajra Umbrella and threw it towards Sun Muchen and Lao Zhang. Just as the lead crawler was about to pounce on the two, the Vajra Umbrella pierced the crawler's head and pinned him to the opposite wall.
But after exerting force, the wound on his shoulder immediately came with a piercing, searing pain, so painful that Wang Lan could hardly stand. He quickly looked down and saw that the wound on his shoulder, which had been bitten by the crawler, was now showing signs of rotting, and the rate of rotting was visible to the naked eye.
