Wang Lan was sitting on the ground at that moment.
Staring directly at the two bull horns stuck in the wall, the giant head sticking halfway in, is a purple old bull.
He couldn't understand how the mutation could cause such a huge change in the animals. He had seen what the cows looked like before in the book he gave Sun Muchen. Although they weren't exactly good-looking, they were still kind of cute, especially the description of the cows as hardworking, steadfast, and reliable.
But this purple monster in front of them, if it weren't for its two distinctive bull horns, would not have resembled a bull at all.
Its cries were now weak and feeble, because behind the old bull, hyenas were gnawing at its body, starting with the two enormous lychees...
At this moment, the old ox's belly had been ripped open, and its internal organs had fallen out, but this only made it easier to block the entrance, preventing monsters like hyenas from getting in.
But this blockage obviously won't last long.
Not to mention that the number of hyenas is increasing and they are eating faster and faster, the sounds of impact outside are also getting louder and louder. After these monsters discovered that the fortress was no longer attacking them, they began to launch an offensive against the fortress just like the border wall. They were ramming the wall.
The mutations seem to be a universal evolution, but they are biased, favoring all creatures other than humans. This bias is significant; even though infected individuals have their physical functions greatly enhanced by the virus, they are still vulnerable in the face of these monsters.
Wang Lan sighed. He was also going to think of a way to see what kind of secrets were hidden inside this seemingly empty fortress. Since there was a roof above, there must be a passage leading to the underground city.
But just as Wang Lan got up...
He suddenly heard a "whoosh" sound, and at the same time, he saw several strange blue beams of light shooting out from the center of the door on both sides of the door, intertwining and blocking the doorway.
The bull's head, with its body strength capable of easily crushing infected individuals into dust, was actually sliced in two by this net of light in an instant!
Wang Lan looked closely and could see that the meat at the cut was slightly charred, and a fragrant aroma wafted out.
This light net looks like it has an extremely high temperature!
Wang Lan looked directly at Sun Muchen and asked in surprise, "Did you do something?"
Sun Muchen also witnessed the bull's head being severed. She was stunned, but Wang Lan's question brought her back to her senses. She stammered, "I...I..."
Then it suddenly occurred to me that red button.
Then he pressed down with one finger.
The ray net disappeared immediately.
The hyenas had already devoured the old bull, leaving only its skeleton and not even its internal organs. Seeing the door wide open, they immediately howled and rushed in.
Sun Muchen reacted quickly, pressing the red button again.
The beam of light reappeared, but it was too late. Two hyenas rushed in, but a third hyena, with half its body inside, was sliced in two by the beam of light!
The hyenas behind them lost their footing and charged forward one after another, crashing into the net of light. By the time they appeared inside the fortress, they had turned into a pile of minced meat and were lying on the ground.
The two hyenas that rushed in split up, one charging towards Wang Lan and the other towards Sun Muchen, demonstrating a clear division of labor.
But how could Wang Lan put Sun Muchen in danger, especially since Sun Muchen didn't have a pistol at the moment? So Wang Lan made a quick decision and threw the Vajra Umbrella away.
He even anticipated the hyena's movements, and when the hyena was about two meters away from Sun Muchen, the Vajra Umbrella pierced through the hyena's body, pinning him to the wall.
The hyena charging towards him was almost upon him. For some reason, this hyena didn't pounce or jump, but instead opened its mouth and tried to bite at Wang Lan's crotch.
This terrified Wang Lan, who quickly retreated. The hyena missed its target, and the sound of its teeth clashing reached Wang Lan's ears, crisp and loud, making him feel a chill run down his groin.
The hyena moved swiftly, without stopping, quickly bypassing Wang Lan and rushing towards her rear.
Wang Lan was truly at his wit's end. He never expected that this thing would be so fond of attacking the lower body. It seemed that the mutation was causing the animals' bodies to evolve towards higher levels, but their minds were becoming increasingly degenerate.
This underhanded tactic filled Wang Lan with both fear and anger. He simply squatted down and reached out to grab the hyena's head, but the hyena's impact still knocked him to the ground.
Then it bit down on Wang Lan's shoulder, its sharp teeth piercing through his clothes and into his flesh. But the hyena seemed to find the taste wrong, so it released its grip and turned to attack Wang Lan's genitals.
Wang Lan became anxious.
He grabbed the hyena by the hind leg, lifted it up as it stood up, and slammed it heavily to the ground.
"Awoo!"
The hyena howled in pain.
"Brother! The Vajra Umbrella!"
Sun Muchen shouted and threw the Vajra Umbrella over, which Wang Lan caught in her hand.
Then, with a sudden swing, he sent the hyena, which had just gotten up, flying towards the doorway. It was instantly sliced to pieces by the beam of light, its blood and flesh spraying onto the menacing, eager monsters outside.
Sun Muchen rushed over at that moment.
Old Zhang also came over. When he saw the wound on Wang Lan's shoulder, he frowned and hurriedly asked, "Wang Lan... what happened to you..."
"I'm fine."
Wang Lan shook his head and moved his shoulder. Although it hurt a lot, it wasn't affecting his movement. He said, "Although I was bitten, these monsters didn't transmit the virus, which is a blessing in disguise."
