Chapter 38: Danger

Chapter 38: Danger

Shen Changze lay down angrily, thinking over and over again, and then unwillingly said: "If I am afraid of his threat, I will just kill him directly. Why go to such great lengths to leave hidden dangers?"

The person on the bed breathed lightly and did not respond.

Shen Changze felt stuffy in his chest, as if he had punched cotton, and was so weak that he had a heart attack.

No wonder she had been cold and unhappy with him these days, so this is why.

The two of them had different dreams in the same room and were separated from each other in their beds.

The next morning, when Jiang Shu woke up, the floor was empty and the quilt that Shen Changze used to make a floor mat was stacked at the foot of the bed.

Jiang Shu got up from the bed and called Tan Yu to wash up.

Tan Yu brought a basin of water into the room and asked in confusion: "Did Madam and the Marquis quarrel?"

"Why do you ask?" Jiang Shu was stunned. Was her expression so obvious?

Tan Yu said: "The Marquis left for Beijing at dawn, with a cold face and said nothing."

He left her and left first

. Jiang Shu was stunned and a little unbelievable.

"Madam, what should we do?" Tan Yu asked while tying Jiang Shu's hair.

Jiang Shu pursed her lips: "Pack your things and leave as soon as possible."

It takes more than half a day to get from here to Shangjing. If you delay for a long time, you may not be able to enter the city before sunset.

Shen Changze only took Huo Chong away, and the two rode away, leaving the carriage and guards to Jiang Shu.

After a casual breakfast, Jiang Shu hurried to get on the road and headed for Shangjing.

For safety and convenience, they took the official road after descending the mountain.

But halfway through, the official road was blocked by several large rocks that rolled down from the mountain. They could not cross it and could only take a detour.

Jiang Shu lifted the curtain and frowned slightly as he looked at the receding trees and forests outside.

Shen Changze rode a horse, and his pace was faster than the carriage. He should have entered the city by now.

I don’t know what people in the mansion will think of him returning alone, and what kind of speculations and rumors will arise.

Jiang Shu didn’t understand. She had spent all her energy to help him plan, but why didn’t he even give her this little dignity. Was

everything she did for him worth it?

As her thoughts flew, the carriage suddenly stopped, and the huge inertia forced Jiang Shu to fall forward, almost falling.

"Madam, be careful." Tan Yu supported Jiang Shu, opened the car door and asked the guards, "How are you driving?"

There was a guard driving the car, and five guards followed behind to protect them.

At this time, they all looked alert, drew their swords, and said seriously, "Protect Madam!"

What's going on?

Tan Yu looked up and saw a group of ferocious bandits carrying big knives on the narrow mountain road, staring at them like evil wolves.

She hurriedly closed the car door, protected Jiang Shu and said, "Madam, hide quickly."

They originally brought more than a dozen guards on this trip, but half of them were left in Cenhe Village to capture Zhao Dezhu, and Shen Changze took Huo Chong away, so there were only six guards left.

Tan Yu was panicking, not sure if the six guards could beat a group of bandits.

She just took a quick look and found that there were at least 20 bandits.

"What happened?" Jiang Shu still didn't understand what happened.

"Bandits are blocking the road to rob." Tan Yu's voice trembled and her face turned pale.

Jiang Shu immediately understood their situation.

The bandits were all out in groups, and the six guards might not be able to defeat them.

If they only robbed the money, it would be fine, but I'm afraid they would also kill the adulterous woman.

She is the wife of the Marquis of Jing'an. If she loses her innocence, how can she survive?

Listening to the fighting outside the car, Jiang Shu's pretty face was tense and pale. She used her reason to force herself to stay calm and quickly thought about how to escape.

She quietly lifted a corner of the curtain to peek outside.

The bandits were numerous and powerful. The guards were already injured, but they were still desperately protecting the carriage.

"You're looking for death! Come on!" The bandit leader gave an order, and the attack became more and more fierce.

In a few moments, two guards fell.

She couldn't just sit there and wait to die!

Jiang Shu quickly looked around and saw that there were forests on both sides and no way to escape. The only way to survive was the mountain road in front.

"Where's the dagger?" She lowered the car curtain and asked Tan Yu.

Tan Yu hurriedly found the dagger and handed it to her.

Jiang Shu pulled out the dagger and held it tightly, letting Tan Yu open the car door. She quickly rushed to the front of the car and stabbed the dagger in her hand into the horse's butt.

The decisiveness of the action and the determination of the eyes made Tan Yu so amazed that she forgot to be afraid.

The injured and painful horse let out a miserable cry and ran madly.

The sudden change caught the bandits off guard. By the time they came to their senses, the carriage had knocked away several bandits and they ran far away.

"What are you doing? Chase them!" The bandit leader, holding a broken broadsword, chased after them.

"Hold them!" The four injured guards fought with the pursuing bandits regardless of their lives.

However, they were outnumbered and fell down in a short while.

The vicious bandits drove forward and soon caught up with the carriage.

Jiang Shu and Tan Yu didn't know how to drive, so they could only let the horses run wild. They accidentally ran into a small path in the mountains and were soon blocked by branches and weeds, unable to move forward.

Before being caught up by the bandits, Jiang Shu decisively abandoned the car and fled.

"Madam, I can't run anymore." Tan Yu was out of breath and sweating.

Jiang Shu reached out to hold her, bit his lip and held on, running forward with all his strength.

Jiang Shu didn't dare to stop until his legs felt heavy as if they were filled with lead, because if he stopped, they would be in a state of death.

"They are in front."

"Drive, drive, drive!"

Two legs are no match for four legs, and they were soon caught up.

"Madam, please go." Tan Yu pushed away Jiang Shu's hand that was tightly holding her.

Looking back at the bandits behind her, Tan Yu knew that she couldn't run away, and wanted to buy more time for Jiang Shu.

What if, what if a miracle happens?

"Tan Yu." Jiang Shu didn't dare to stop, and ran forward with tears.

"This maid is for you, Zhao Dezhu, let's go after the one in front."

"Madam of the Marquis's Mansion, I want to taste what it feels like!"

The bandit leader licked his tongue and stared at Jiang Shu's panicked figure, like a hunter staring at prey in a desperate situation.

"Hehe, I guarantee that you will be as happy as a fairy, and you will never forget it even if you become a ghost." Zhao Dezhu's rat eyes were bloodshot, and his heart was filled with lust.

He escaped from Cenhe Manor four days ago and knew that he had nowhere to go. He hated Shen Changze's ruthlessness and coveted Jiang Shu's beauty, so he found a group of desperate bandits.

"Madam." Tan Yu was surrounded by a group of grinning bandits. Looking at them approaching her, tears of despair flowed down her face.

"Swoosh!" A feather arrow flew through the air and shot down a bandit.

"Who is it?" The remaining bandits turned around quickly, holding their knives and looking around vigilantly.

"Swoosh!" Several more feather arrows flew in. "

Drive!" With the sound of horse hooves, a group of people appeared, like gods descending from heaven.

"Kill!" The bandits rushed over with knives raised.

The two parties fought together, and three people rode towards Tan Yu.

As they got closer, Tan Yu recognized the leader at a glance.

"Your Highness Prince Jing, please save my wife!" Tan Yu cried with joy and knelt down to beg.

Hearing Tan Yu's words, Yu Zheng's face changed: "Where is your wife?"

"There." Tan Yu pointed to the direction where Jiang Shu fled with trembling hands.

Yu Zheng whipped the horse whip hard and ran towards Jiang Shu at the fastest speed.
