Chapter 8 Who is he?

Chapter 8 Who is he?

A series of possible consequences are not a threat, but merely a statement of fact.

Even though the surgeon Liao Yang has the complete "microscopic vision" ability and the assistant Zhou Yanying has "X-ray vision," the two chosen surgical talents were brought together by chance, which reduced the risk a lot, but it was by no means zero.

This risk still applies to both doctors and patients.

"The procedure must be performed undisturbed. The purification technician must monitor the contamination levels of everyone in the room throughout the entire process. Signal interference and shielding must not be stopped until the bomb is destroyed," Liao Yang said with utmost seriousness.

"If any of the above three conditions goes wrong, it could lead to catastrophic consequences."

Even if nothing unexpected happens, there is at least a 50% chance that the surgery will be unsuccessful or leave serious sequelae.

Are you ready?

Liao Yang had repeatedly regretted his decision on the way, but his professionalism wouldn't allow him to regret it now.

He was prepared.

Zhou Yanying had applied in advance to go to a hospital at the satellite base to provide support, and she secretly left the base by keeping it a secret from both the satellite base and the main base.

The Martial God Team 1 wasn't actually on a medicine transport mission. They tricked the medicine transport team into drugging them, tied them up in the wild, left some people to guard and protect them, and the rest disguised themselves as a medicine transport team and entered the Central Plains Base No. 3.

This is essentially considered defection.

Zhou Yanying's only younger brother, Zhou Yanhui, is in the Martial God Team 1. Zhou Yanying herself has received a great favor from Chen Yuezhou, so she has long been willing to risk everything.

She was also prepared.

Chen Yuezhou sat at the small conference table, opposite the two men.

The blue light from the projector outlined his sharply defined features in a cold and edgy way.

Undergoing surgery might lead to death or mental impairment, but he could simply go back home without taking any risks. He would be filled with honors and become a highly anticipated "star general" in the new recruit base, someone else's "favorite son."

The bomb has long been ingrained in his flesh and blood; perhaps one day it will dissolve into his brain?

However, Chen Yuezhou was unaware of when the bomb had been implanted in him.

He had no recollection of such a major surgery.

He didn't even know when his genes were taken or when he was cloned.

Who knows how many things he was forced to do that he didn't know about in the dark side of his glamorous life, in the corners of his unknown memories, and how much he had to contribute his flesh and blood to "the future of mankind"!

He is a person, and he wants to be a fully free person.

Better to be a broken piece of jade than a broken piece of jade.

"I'm ready. Thank you both, doctors," Chen Yuezhou nodded and said calmly.

......

The weather has been getting hotter day by day since the beginning of summer, but the bright sunshine that lasted for nearly two weeks came to an end on the morning of the 16th.

The sky was covered with thick clouds, and the wind carried moist air.

The weather changed suddenly; by the time it changed, Qi An and the others had already gotten into their car and left the base.

They were going hunting.

After all, with dozens of people huddled in the base, they didn't want to be at the mercy of others, so they had to solve their own food problem.

"No way, can you hunt in this weather? Even rabbits would be hiding in their burrows to avoid the rain! Pack up and go back, don't bother!" Gu Liansheng shouted into the wind, sticking his head out of the car window.

His tone wasn't very good; after all, he'd been in a bad mood for the past couple of days!

They're such procrastinators! Qin Tianshuo could jog 5 kilometers by now, and they still haven't set off!

The Wind Riding Team 2 didn't even bother to leave; they just stayed put in this base filled with curses.

Does this indicate a masochistic tendency?

It couldn't be that they were genuinely afraid of the fallen insects on the front lines! Gu Liansheng only refrained from losing his temper because Qi An was there, but several people echoed his words:

"Yes, let's turn back, lest we get caught in the downpour and our car gets stuck."

Tang Long looked at Qi An, and Qi An glanced at Chen Xi, who was driving beside him.

She actually spent most of the past two days with Chen Xi, either asking him for tips on close-quarters combat and insect killing with cold weapons, spending the whole day in the training room, or strolling around the small commercial street together to buy daily necessities for the new base.

Chen Xi's mood was the opposite of Gu Liansheng's. He also looked at Qi An with a questioning look in his eyes.

In 10 minutes it will be 8 a.m., and Chen Yuezhou's surgery will begin.

Qi An searched his mind for ways to delay, but a Lynx troop carrier was coming towards him.

These are vehicles belonging to the Close Air Defense Force. The truck bed is carrying seven or eight wounded soldiers. Judging from the direction they are heading, they are probably returning from a stronghold about 10 kilometers west of the defensive line.

In the early hours of the morning, more Fallen Insects appeared outside the base, but the scale was still small, only attacking a few strongholds and causing some casualties.

The vehicle briefly checked their identities and then drove past them.

Qi An leaned out of the car window and stared at the troop carrier.

"What's wrong?" Chen Xi and Tang Long asked from inside the car.

Qi An couldn't explain what was wrong.

Perhaps it was the gloomy sky and her worries about the high-risk surgery at the base that affected her mood; her heart was beating a little fast.

"Let's go back," Qi An said, then tugged at Chen Xi's sleeve: "Hurry up, back to base!"

The people at the base were also complaining and busy because of the sudden change in weather.

Tang Long's mother had already walked to the entrance of the cotton mill where she worked, but she rushed home to collect the quilts that she had just aired out in the morning.

"The weather's like a child's face; it really feels like summer..."

Zhao Bowen and his wife go to work together.

Cheng Xinruo is the only firearms and combat instructor in the base's university security department.

When the two reached the intersection and saw the weather, Cheng Xinruo said, "Well, we still need to go home to get an umbrella. Luckily we left early today!"

Zhao Bowen looked at her with a hint of helplessness: "Didn't you leave your umbrella at school a long time ago?"

It was still early, and the outpatient building of the People's Hospital was quiet and empty.

After inspecting the contamination levels of the patients in the inpatient department, Tang Xinying arrived at the large operating room on the fourth floor of the outpatient department.

Chen Yuezhou lay amidst countless tubes monitoring his vital signs, under general anesthesia. His closed eyes and peaceful sleep seemed to have shed all traces of hardship and ruthlessness, revealing a vulnerable tenderness.

A sharp scalpel fell on his forehead, cutting a gash from which blood gushed forth.

The sound of my heartbeat ticking away.

At this pace, the troop carrier drove into the base.

The military hospital was already full, so the vehicle drove to the civilian hospital located in the center of the base.

The emergency department immediately dispatched personnel, and the injured either got off the vehicle on their own or were carried off on stretchers.

A short male soldier was shot in the right arm, his face was pale, and he was swaying, but he got out of the vehicle on his own.

However, after following the crowd to the entrance of the emergency room, he did not go in, nor did he undergo the basic temperature and blood pressure measurement at the entrance.

In the midst of the chaos, he ripped off the tourniquet in a secluded corner outside the crowd, revealing a clean arm without any wounds.

He took off his blood-stained coat, disappeared into the bushes, and then began to look around the hospital as if he were just strolling around.
