Chapter 23 The Power of the Weaver Girl
With five fingerprints and a voiceprint command to "Start Vega No. 3," the palm-sized display screen on the box emitted ripples of light.
Jiang Mo was also pierced by a tentacle, and the password was sprayed out along with a large amount of blood.
After the tentacle pierced through his body, its pointed tip softened and grew a jet-black eye, which curiously looked at the box.
The box is entirely black, and if it weren't for the display screen on the top, it would look like a solid block of stone.
The Ash Priest's curiosity lasted only a second before the tentacle head transformed into a sharp knife once more.
He wasn't late; no metal or mineral could withstand the edge of his bone knife!
The tentacles transformed back into sharp blades and slashed down at the box!
But after the light patterns flickered, the stone opened up along the almost invisible stripes on its six beveled faces!
The four trihedrals simultaneously sprang outwards, and the black in the middle began to surge!
The tentacles slashed down from the middle, but only cut the screen into two regular halves, then passed through the blackness almost unimpeded!
The blackness resembled a swarm of bees, or a surging fluid, swirling along the tentacle for a moment before suddenly dispersing.
When the black particles aggregated, they were just a box about 1 meter square, but when they dispersed, they filled the entire warehouse space in an instant!
And so it became like a swirling black star.
Starlight overflowed from the warehouse and flowed into the corridor.
The corridor was dark, yet the tiny particles within it glowed, making the ceiling appear as if a blue galaxy flowed across it...
Perhaps all powerful things possess beauty. The starry river shimmered for a moment, then the five-layered gate that opened automatically roared away, heading straight for the Ash Priest's true form left on the fourth floor!
Drone swarm.
"Weaver Girl" is just a swarm of drones, but it is a swarm of nano-drones!
The black, fluid-like swarm of bees once again spread out in the vast space of the fourth floor, seemingly filling the entire space!
The Ash Priest narrowed his eyes, indeed sensing some threat, but he did not leave; his body simply transformed abruptly!
His main body shrank, but hundreds of tentacles grew out!
Hundreds of tentacles, each as thick as a little finger, branched out once per second, and within 5 seconds, they covered almost half of the 4-story corridor and warehouse space like mycelium!
The mycelium was oozing mucus, and the bone spurs stood up like inverted scales on every inch of the skin of the tentacles!
The Ash Priest is like a spider, spreading its web to catch flies!
It simply couldn't believe that these flies were intelligent enough for each one to have its own flight path and evade its almost infinitely growing web of antennae!
Moreover, these things are so small, what kind of attack methods could they possibly have?
The Ash Priest still hadn't left this level; one of his tentacles still stretched out through the gap he had cut into the fifth level, staring at Qi An!
Jiang Mo was also staring at Qi An.
He stared in disbelief, for the sight of the overflowing starry sky made him feel that it was a beautiful sight that one could only see when one was on the verge of death.
He's about to die, or he's about to mutate!
Jiang Mo hesitated whether to move his still somewhat conscious right arm, or shoot himself in the temple to avoid giving the insects above him another boost.
But a hand reached out gropingly!
It was Qi An's hand! The blood on his palm was warm and sticky, but Jiang Mo's consciousness, which was sinking into the abyss, was suddenly pulled back, as if enveloped by a ball of light or a cloud!
Jiang Mo's narrow eyes widened slightly, and her somewhat unfocused pupils strained as she looked at Qi An.
Beneath Qi An was a winding river of blood, her face as pale as paper, likely suffering a severe penetrating wound, yet she was still able to come and purify him!
In fact, Qi An was not only purifying Jiang Mo, but she was also holding Chen Xi tightly with her other hand, keeping both of them awake at the same time!
Qi An's stomach had been pierced through; it must have been her stomach. She looked down at the location of the bloody hole.
The excruciating pain of being pierced, almost like having her soul torn apart, and the terror of impending death in the next instant, caused her to instinctively change.
Her "pollution level" is at least over 70%!
Then the blade-like tentacles were pulled out, and the blood and life force that should have been lost in huge quantities seemed to be wrapped up by something. Qi An still stood up, and she was even still conscious!
But she immediately noticed that Chen Xi's body pressed down heavily, and he was also undergoing a rapid transformation!
Chen Xi made direct contact with the Ash Priest, so of course he would undergo a rapid transformation!
Qi An froze for a moment, because she didn't know if she was also corrupting Chen Xi and hastening his death!
She almost suppressed the mutation that could have saved her life, but then she realized that when she was terrified by Chen Xi's condition and subconsciously reached out to support his body, Chen Xi's contamination level actually decreased.
It seems that even at this point, she still has the ability to purify!
Even stronger?
Qi An immediately purified Chen Xi, then dragged Chen Xi into the warehouse to purify Jiang Mo.
She stumbled and fell as she entered the warehouse.
The mind and body are separate. This mid-level 3 mutation cannot completely lock her life. Her terrible wound is still bleeding. She and Chen Xi left behind a hideous river of blood from the corridor to the warehouse!
Qi An was beside Jiang Mo. Her soul seemed to be half in the abyss and half in reality; her consciousness was half in her body and half in all the time fragments from when the team set off until this moment.
There are two more points that exist simultaneously in the mental worlds of Jiang Mo and Chen Xi!
Qi An felt like she was not herself, yet she was confused and helpless, and she also felt cold because of the blood flowing out of her body.
Because of this coldness and fear, she wanted to intensify the mutation.
The tentacle was right behind Qi An, standing upright like a snake, its dark eyes fixed on her, hesitating whether to stab her again.
In the midst of the confusion, Qi An thought of the surviving guards on the fourth floor who thought they were safe.
How are they? Are they still alive?
Where are the captains and the others outside?
Have Chen Yuezhou and the others escaped the base safely?
How many of the 10,000 soldiers in the south are still alive?
The warehouse lights were cold and pale, and Jiang Mo's forehead and Chen Xi's arm also became cold.
War is truly cruel.
The price of “protection” is so heavy and tragic.
But then a wisp of "starlight" floated around Qi An.
The soft white light flickered, like a person blinking and speaking.
When Qi An slightly raised his eyes, which were mostly dark, because of the light, the light became softer, yet it also shone more brightly.
It was like a joyful greeting, and also like encouragement.
The eye on that tentacle narrowed slightly, and blades grew back from the tip of the tentacle...
But the two gentle yet lively "starlight" suddenly collided, then separated and flashed upwards!
It was severed in the middle of the touch!
And the cross-section of the tentacle was completely carbonized!
