Chapter 120 Stealing Medicine
Qin Tianshuo was talking in his sleep.
He was not fully conscious, and his sense of time was completely disordered, so his incoherent ramblings were incoherent:
"I dare not... go down the well... but I can't just stand by and watch someone die..."
"Commander... why is there a radio... signal in your head?"
"My command skills... seem inferior to Yu Shuang's... but in a fight... I'm still better than her..."
"If only I could touch... You Zi... before I die..."
In the dark carriage, where only a faint emergency light flickered, You Zi sat curled up next to Qin Tianshuo, constantly helping him and the five or six seriously injured people around them with their healing.
Because she had to control the degree of purification and was constantly jostled in a closed carriage filled with the stench of infection and pollution, she would occasionally doze off during her meditation due to exhaustion.
But as soon as Qin Tianshuo started talking nonsense, she woke up and leaned down slightly.
The first few sentences were either laughter or silence, but upon hearing the last sentence, You Zi's eyes widened, and she glared at Qin Tianshuo.
Sun Yiran, who was lying to the side, chuckled and winked at You Zi.
You Zi was a woman with slightly dark skin, deep-set eyes, a high nose, full lips, and a voluptuous and alluring figure.
It's strange that the captain, who is usually so unserious, only dared to express his inappropriate thoughts about the Purifier when he was about to die and talking nonsense.
Sun Yiran blinked twice and then ran out of energy; her breath was scalding hot when she laughed.
Why haven't we arrived at the hospital yet? She wondered groggily.
On the other side of the carriage, a very handsome male soldier, with a face as pale as paper, seemed to be delirious. He sat up halfway and cried out, "Captain!" Then he called out blankly, "Doctor Su?"
Su Qingran withdrew her gaze from the lobby and, taking advantage of Qi An's entanglement with Director Yang, turned and went downstairs.
She went straight to the central medicine warehouse on the basement floor.
Of course, there were guards in the medicine warehouse. Su Qingran let her hair down and chatted with the guard, who happened to be a familiar face, for a few moments before being allowed to enter the warehouse for a quick look.
The medicine cabinet and refrigerator were so clean that even mice would sigh at the sight of them.
Su Qingran clenched her fists, trying to calm the anxiety and doubt that were dragging her down. She found a white coat, turned around, and headed to the consumables room further inside, as well as the emergency supplies storage room next to several operating rooms in the general surgery department on the second floor.
After a while, she called Yu Shuang: "There are about 10 folding beds on the basement floor, as well as mattresses, sheets and disinfectant; there are also emergency medicines in a small room at the end of the corridor on the second floor."
She glanced at another heavily guarded room, where cold air was billowing out: "There's also an emergency blood bank."
On the other end of the phone, Yu Shuang, who had been anxiously waiting, suddenly brightened up: "Great job! Wait for us, we're on our way!"
Medical supplies are indeed in short supply. The central pharmacy was able to enter because it was actually empty, while the small storage room with its few emergency medicines and equipment was definitely being guarded closely.
Su Qingran, dressed as a doctor, was shouting "Another serious injury requiring emergency treatment." Taking advantage of a doctor coming to get medicine, she barged in for a quick look and was quickly recognized.
The guards, a few young doctors who came to get medicine, and the still conscious injured people crammed in the corridor all stared at her.
The guard had intended to drag Su Qingran out of the storage room, but Su Qingran noticed in advance and instead slid out of the room like a fish under his arm.
Based on her quick reflexes, the wounds on Su Qingran's face, and the blood-stained military green T-shirt under her white coat, the guard recognized her as a soldier, and someone who had likely just come from the battlefield. He didn't draw his gun, but only warned her cautiously:
"Your teammate is injured? Take him to the medic! Only the medic can get medicine! You can't steal it!"
The doctor refused to administer medication. Qi An asked twice if they could spare some manpower and supplies to care for their wounded. Director Yang said it was impossible and told them to find their own way.
So Yu Shuang and several other drivers/guards, along with the military doctor, all got out of the car. Most of them followed Yu Shuang to the basement, while a small portion went to the second floor where Su Qingran was.
Director Yang, who had been checking the blood pressure of a patient with a festering leg injury, was shocked by what he saw and pointed at Yu Shuang, who was moving as fast as the wind: "Hey, you guys..."
"We'll figure it out ourselves." Qi An asked twice and then stopped wasting time. Her initial idea was the same as Su Qingran's, but when she contacted her by phone and found that Su Qingran had already taken action, she stayed in the lobby to make a call.
“They’ve moved the beds, but we can handle the disinfection and cleaning of the cafeteria ourselves,” she said.
But Director Yang also saw people running towards the second floor and angrily shouted, "Are you still trying to steal medicine?"
"So there's still medicine?" Qi An asked him.
Director Yang choked for a moment, but immediately snatched the walkie-talkie from the resident doctor next to him and said to the guard on the second floor, "Stop those people who are trying to steal the medicine!"
However, the five security personnel on the second floor were no match for the elite special forces team and couldn't stop them at all.
The commotion escalated considerably, and Director Yang was furious: "Those are the last remaining emergency medications. Who knows if more Fallen Insects will attack today or tomorrow? You're taking the lives of our soldiers!"
These words provoked a barrage of angry glares and rebukes from the wounded in the hall and corridors toward Qi An and the two groups of people, one above and one below!
